This maintenance-free Philips vacuum beard trimmer combines innovative
technology and outstanding comfort of use.
The integrated vacuum mechanism absorbs cut-off hairs during use and
guarantees a clean washbasin after use.
The contour-following comb attachment, the self-sharpening cutting unit
and the adjustment ring for selecting hair lengths of 1.5 to 18mm ensure
excellent cutting results and time-saving operation.The high-quality
precision trimmer guarantees a precise and dened cut and the
ergonomic shape of the appliance allows pleasant and comfortable
handling.
This Philips vacuum beard trimmer is excellently suited for cutting and
contouring your beard and sideburns.

Danger
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the
local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adapter to
replace it with another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
Caution
- Charge, use and store the appliance at a temperature between 15°C
and 35°C.
- Do not charge the appliance in a pouch or cassette.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor rinse
it under the tap.
- Only use the adapter supplied.
- If the adapter is damaged, always have it replaced with one of the
original type in order to avoid a hazard.
- The adapter transforms 220-240 volts to a safe low voltage of less
than 24 volts.
- Do not use the appliance if the cutting element or the appliance itself
is damaged or broken, as this may cause injury.
- This appliance is only intended for trimming the human beard. Do
not use it for any other purpose.

- This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding
electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled properly and according to the
instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence available today.

Charging
Charge the appliance fully before you use it for the rst time and after a
long period of disuse.
Charging takes about 70 minutes if the appliance is completely empty.
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Insert the appliance plug into the appliance and put the adapter in
the wall socket.
,The charging light goes on to indicate that the appliance is
charging. (Fig. 2)
Charge indications
- The green charging light lights up continuously during charging.
- The green charging light starts ashing when the battery is fully
charged.
- If the red battery-low light ashes when you switch off the appliance
after cordless use, the battery is low and needs to be charged.
- If the red battery-low light ashes and the motor does not start
running when you press the on/off button, the battery is empty and
needs to be charged.
Preparing for use
Always comb your beard or moustache with a ne comb before you
start trimming.
Using the appliance
Corded trimming
Do not run the appliance from the mains when the battery is fully
charged.
Note: If the battery is low, you can also use the appliance from the mains:
1 Switch off the trimmer, connect it to the mains and wait a few
seconds before you switch it on.

2 If the battery is completely empty, wait a few minutes before you
switch on the appliance.
Turbo function
You can use the turbo function for greater suction power and increased
cutting speed.
1 Switch on the appliance (Fig. 3).
2 Press the turbo button (Fig. 4).
When you switch off the appliance, the turbo function is deactivated
automatically.
Absorbing cut hairs
The suction mechanism is activated automatically as soon as you switch
on the appliance. It absorbs cut hairs during every kind of use, i.e.
trimming with and without comb attachment and contouring. The exible
hair guide follows the contours of the face and directs cut hairs towards
the nozzle of the vacuum mechanism.
We advise you to empty the hair-collection chamber after each trimming
session.When trimming long, dense beards, it may also be necessary to
empty the hair-collection chamber during the trimming session in order
to maintain optimal suction performance (see chapter ‘Cleaning’, section
‘Hair-collection chamber’).
Note:To ensure optimal functioning of the vacuum system, do not cut off
more than approx. 7mm of your overall beard length at a time. If you want to
cut your beard shorter, repeat the process one or more times.
Trimming with comb attachment
1 Turn the adjustment ring (Precision Zoom Lock `) to the desired
hair length setting (see table). (Fig. 5)
,The setting appears in the window below the adjustment ring
(Precision Zoom Lock `).

If you trim for the rst time, start with the maximum hair length setting
(9).
2 Switch on the appliance (Fig. 3).
- During trimming, you can use the turbo function for extra suction
power (Fig. 4).
3 To trim most effectively, move the trimmer against the direction of
hair growth. (Fig. 6)
Note: Make smooth and gentle movements and make sure the surface of the
comb attachment always stays in contact with the skin.
Note: Do not move the trimmer too fast.
4 Switch off the appliance after use and clean it (see chapter
‘Cleaning’).
Trimming at the unique ‘stubble look’ setting
- Use the trimmer with the comb attachment set to hair length setting
1.This allows you to create a ‘stubble look’ (Fig. 7).

Trimming without comb attachment
Use the trimmer without comb attachment to trim full beards and single
hairs.
1 Remove the comb attachment (Fig. 8).
Note: Never pull at the exible top of the comb attachment. Always pull at
the bottom part.
2 Make well-controlled movements and touch the hair lightly with
the trimmer.
Shaping with the precision trimmer
You can use the precision trimmer to shape your moustache and
sideburns, to dene contours and to cut single hairs.
1 Remove the comb attachment (Fig. 8).
Note: Never pull at the exible top of the comb attachment. Always pull at
the bottom part.
2 Remove the cutting unit (Fig. 9).
3 Attach the precision trimmer (Fig. 10).
4 When you use the precision trimmer, hold the appliance in such a
way that the trimmer points upwards (Fig. 11).
Cleaning
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids
such as alcohol, petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it
under the tap.
Never use sharp or hard objects to clean the lter to avoid damaging it.
Hair-collection chamber
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Remove the hair-collection chamber (Fig. 12).

3 Shake the hairs out of the hair-collection chamber or remove them
with the cleaning brush supplied (Fig. 13).
Appliance
1 Remove the comb attachment (Fig. 8).
2 Remove the cutting unit (Fig. 9).
3 Clean the cutting unit and the inside of the appliance with the
brush supplied. (Fig. 14)
4 Put the cutting unit and the comb attachment back onto the
appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 15).
Replacement
Always replace a damaged or worn cutting unit or lter with an original
Philips cutting unit or lter, available at your dealer or at authorised Philips
service centres.
Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste
at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the
environment (Fig. 16).
- The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances that may
pollute the environment.Always remove the battery before you
discard and hand in the appliance at an ofcial collection point.
Dispose of the battery at an ofcial collection point for batteries. If
you have trouble removing the battery, you can also take the
appliance to a Philips service centre.The staff of this centre will
remove the battery for you and will dispose of it in an
environmentally safe way. (Fig. 17)
Removing the rechargeable battery
Do not connect the appliance to the mains again you have opened it.
Follow the steps below to remove the battery.

1 Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let the appliance run
until the motor stops.
2 Remove the two side panels with a screwdriver (Fig. 18).
3 Remove the front panel with a screwdriver. (Fig. 19)
4 Pull out the printed circuit board (Fig. 20).
5 Detach the rechargeable battery from the printed circuit board
with a screwdriver.Then bend or turn the battery several times
until the connections break (Fig. 21).

Troubleshooting
This chapter summarises the most common problems you could
encounter with the appliance. If you are unable to solve the problem with
the information below, contact the Consumer Care Centre in your
country.

Opladning
Trimmeren skal oplades helt, inden den tages i brug første gang, eller hvis
den ikke har været brugt i en længere periode.
Opladningen tager omkring 70 minutter, hvis apparatet er helt aadet.
1 Sluk for apparatet.
2 Sæt det lille apparatstik ind i apparatet, og sæt adapteren i en
stikkontakt.

Opladningsindikatorer
- Den grønne opladeindikator lyser konstant under opladning.
- Den grønne opladeindikator begynder at blinke, når batteriet er fuldt
opladet.
- Hvis den røde lysindikator for lav batterikapacitet blinker, når du
slukker apparatet efter brug uden ledning, er den aktuelle
batterikapacitet lav, og batteriet skal oplades.
- Hvis den røde lysindikator for lav batterikapacitet blinker, uden at
motoren starter, når du trykker på on/off-knappen, er batteriet løbet
helt tør for strøm og skal derfor oplades.
Klargøring
Red altid skæg eller moustache igennem med en n kam, inden
trimningen.
Sådan bruges apparatet
Trimning med ledning
Brug ikke apparatet via lysnettet, når batteriet er fuldt opladet.
Bemærk: Hvis batteriet er ved at løbe tør for strøm, kan trimmeren sluttes
direkte til lysnettet:
1 Sluk for trimmeren, slut den til lysnettet, og vent et par sekunder,
inden du tænder den.

2 Hvis batteriet er helt aadet, skal du vente et par minutter, før du
tænder for apparatet.
Turbo-funktion
Du kan bruge turbofunktionen, hvis du ønsker større sugeevne og øget
skærehastighed.
1 Tænd for apparatet (g. 3).
2 Tryk på turbo-knappen (g. 4).
Når du slukker for apparatet, deaktiveres turbofunktionen automatisk.
Absorbering af afklippede skæghår
Sugemekanismen aktiveres automatisk, så snart apparatet tændes. De
afklippede skæghår absorberes ved alle anvendelsesmåder, f.eks. trimning
med og uden kam og ved afretning af kanter. Den eksible styrekam
følger ansigtets konturer og leder de afklippede skæghår hen til vakuum-
systemets mundstykke.
Det tilrådes at tømme skægkammeret efter hver trimning.Ved trimning af
langt, kraftigt skæg kan det være nødvendigt at tømme skægkammeret
under trimningen for at bevare den optimale sugeeffekt (se underafsnittet
“Skægkammer” i afsnittet “Rengøring”).
Bemærk: For at sikre optimal vakum-effekt, skal du højst skære 7 mm af
skæglængden ad gangen. Skal skægget være kortere, gentages processen en
eller ere gange.
Trimning med påsat kam
1 Drej justeringsringen (Precision Zoom Lock `) til den ønskede
længdeindstilling (se tabellen). (g. 5)

Bemærk:Trimmeren skal ikke bevæges for hurtigt.
4 Sluk apparatet efter brug, og gør det rent (se afsnittet “Rengøring”).
Indstilling til det rå “skægstubbe-look”
- Brug trimmeren med påsat kam og længdeindstilling 1. Derved opnår
du et råt “skægstubbe-look” (g. 7).
Trimning uden kam
Brug trimmeren uden kam, hvis du vil trimme fuldskæg og enkelte
skæghår.
1 Tag kammen af (g. 8).

Bemærk: Træk aldrig i den øverste, eksible del af kammen. Træk kun i den
nederste del.
2 Før trimmeren med kontrollerede bevægelser, og berør kun hårene
ganske let.
Tilretning med præcisions-trimmeren
Præcisions-trimmeren er ideel til tilretning af moustache og bakkenbarter,
til at denere konturer og til at klippe enkelte hår.
1 Tag kammen af (g. 8).
Bemærk: Træk aldrig i den øverste, eksible del af kammen. Træk kun i den
nederste del.
2 Tag skærhovedet af (g. 9).
3 Sæt præcisions-trimmeren på (g. 10).
4 Når du bruger præcisions-trimmeren, skal du holde apparatet
lodret, så trimmeren vender opad (g. 11).
Rengøring
Brug aldrig skuresvampe eller skrappe rengøringsmidler såsom sprit,
benzin eller acetone til rengøring af apparatet.
Apparatet må aldrig kommes ned i vand eller andre væsker eller skylles
under vandhanen.
Brug ikke skarpe eller hårde genstande til rensning af lteret, da du
ellers risikerer at beskadige det.
Skægkammer
1 Sluk apparatet.
2 Fjern skægkammeret (g. 12).
3 Ryst hårene ud af skægkammeret, eller fjern dem med den
medfølgende rengøringsbørste (g. 13).
