With your new Satinelle epilator you can remove undesired
hair quickly, easily and effectively. It is particularly suitable
for removing hair from your legs.
The rotating discs catch even the shortest hairs ( 1⁄2mm)
and pull them out by the root. The hair that grows back is
soft and fine. So, no more stubble!
Epilating with Satinelle leaves your skin smooth and
hairfree for several weeks.
To make better use of your Satinelle, familiarise yourself
with the appliance. Read these directions for use first and
look carefully at the pictures. They may be very useful.

Important
• Before connecting the appliance, please check
that the voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
• Charge your Satinelle for at least 16 hours before
first use.
• Regular cleaning and good maintenance ensures
optimum results and guarantees longer life time
for the Satinelle.
• Do not allow the appliance to come into contact
with water.
• Keep the protective cap on the appliance when
not in use.
• Do not use the Satinelle if you suffer with
varicose veins, spots or blemishes, or when the
skin is irritated. Consult your doctor first.
• Regular skin massage with a massaging glove or
loofah can help to prevent ingrowing hairs.
• Use of an epilator may cause reddening or
irritation of the skin. This is a normal reaction
which will quickly disappear.
However, if the irritation remains for more than
three days consult your doctor.
• When the appliance is switched on, keep it away
from the hair on your head, your eye lashes and
eye brows, and also away from clothes, brushes,
wires, cords etc. to prevent accidents and
damage.
• Keep the appliance away from children.

• Only use your Satinelle with the mains cord
supplied with the appliance.

To protect the environment, this appliance is
equipped with nickel-hydride (NiMH) batteries
which contain less than 0.01% cadmium.
Yet we advise you to ensure that the batteries are
separated from the normal household refuse and
disposed of at an officially assigned place when
discarding your appliance in due course. Please refer
to section "Protecting the environment".

following text applies:)
The built-in rechargeable (NiCd) batteries contain
substances which may pollute the environment.
When discarding your appliance in due course,
please ensure that the batteries are separated from
the normal household refuse and disposed of at an
officially assigned place. Please refer to section
"Protecting the environment".

Charging (for cordless use)
Your Satinelle can run on the built-in rechargeable batteries
(if charged) as well as directly from the mains (wall socket).
To charge the rechargeable batteries:
- Ensure that the Satinelle is switched off (fig. 2).
- Insert the small plug into the Satinelle (fig. 3). Ensure that
the plug is pushed in fully. (Note the indication mark.)
- Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. The pilot light
indicates that the batteries are being charged (fig. 4).
The light remains on as long as the appliance is
connected to the mains supply.
- Charge the batteries for at least 16 hours before first
cordless use and/or if the appliance has not been used
for a long time (i.e. 6 months or longer).
• A full charge of the batteries provides you with an
average of 45 minutes of cordless epilation.
• The batteries will be fully charged after approx. 16 hours.
There is no danger if your Satinelle remains connected to
the mains. But in order to guarantee the longest possible
working life of the batteries do not charge for more than
24 hours.
• If you notice a drop in performance during cordless use,
simply plug the appliance in and use your Satinelle
directly from the mains.
• At least twice a year let the appliance run cordless until
the batteries are empty. Then recharge immediately
(16 hours).
This ensures optimum performance and a long life of the
batteries. You can do this even when the Satinelle is not
in use.

• Charge the Satinelle at temperatures between 5° and
35° C (41° and 95° F). This guarantees maximum life of
the rechargeable batteries.
How to use
• Make sure your skin is clean, free from grease and
creams and completely dry.
Do not apply any cream before epilating. (Except for
special “pre and after epilaton” gels. See also under
section “Epilation gels”.)
• If you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you
to start at a place with comparatively little hair growth so
that you may get accustomed to epilating.
• As the hairs are removed by the root, your skin may feel a
little discomfort after epilating with Satinelle for the first
time. But this effect will gradually lessen with each use.
As the hairs are removed by the root, re-growth tends to
be softer both in appearance and touch.
• The appliance is prevented from being switched on
accidentally by the safety switch incorporated in the
selector. Keep the small button pressed down while
sliding the selector.
- Switch the Satinelle on, selecting the desired speed
(fig. 5).
Our advice:
• For areas where the hairs are thinner, for hard-to-reach
places and for areas with bones under the skin (such as
knees and ankles), select speed I(normal speed) (fig. 6).
• For larger surfaces and thicker hairs, select speed II (high

speed) (fig. 7).
- Pull the skin taut with your free hand to make the hairs
stand up (fig. 8). Tautening the skin properly is particularly
important if you have sensitive or delicate skin.
- Place the Satinelle in a straight angle on the skin, with the
On/Off switch pointing towards you (fig. 9).
- Now move the appliance slowly over the skin against the
direction of growth of the hairs (fig. 10). Do not apply
pressure.
- To switch the appliance off, slide the switch to position 0
(fig. 11).
Cleaning
• For a good and smooth result in epilating, it is essential
that the epilating head is cleaned after each use.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Do not use strong cleaners or scouring agents, petrol,
acetone, etc., to clean the plastic housing of your
Satinelle.
• Never try to remove the epilating discs from the
appliance.
- Switch the Satinelle off (0) (fig. 12) and remove the mains
plug from the wall socket (fig. 13). (Please note: The
mains plug shown in the illustration is not applicable for
U.K.)
- Press the ribbed section and pull the epilating head from
the appliance (fig. 14).
- Clean the epilating discs and the parts that have become
accessible with the brush (fig. 15).

If you use pre-epilation gel, it is strongly advised to clean
the discs with alcohol (fig. 16).
- Put the epilating head back on the appliance. Press the
non-marked area besides the ribbed section to make the
epilating head snap back to its correct position (“Click!”)
(fig. 17).
Please note: The epilating head can only be mounted one
way round!
Epilation gels
You may apply some gel to the skin before and/or after
epilating (fig. 18). Use appropriate pre epilation and after
epilation gels only.
When using pre epilation gel (directly before epilation),
ensure that the gel is fully spread and that your skin is dry
before you begin.
You can apply after epilation gel directly after you have
finished epilating.
The use of a gel is not absolutely necessary when epilating
with your Satinelle.
A pre epilation gel will make the hairs stand up, so that they
are caught more easily by the epilating discs.
Furthermore, an after epilation gel will help prevent skin
irritation after epilation, it makes the skin feel smoother and
gives a fresh feeling.
Any pre epilation and after epilation gel can be used with
your Satinelle.
Please note: Moisturising creams can only be used
after epilation but never before!
