Hearing Safety
Listen at a moderate volume:
Using headphones at a high volume can impair your hearing.This
product can produce sounds in decibel ranges that may cause hearing
loss for a normal person, even for exposure less than a minute.The
higher decibel ranges are offered for those that may have already
experienced some hearing loss.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing ‘comfort level’ adapts
to higher volumes of sound. So after prolonged listening, what sounds
‘normal’ can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing.To guard
against this, set your volume to a safe level before your hearing adapts
and leave it there.
To establish a safe volume level:
Set your volume control at a low setting.
Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and
clearly, without distortion.
Listen for reasonable periods of time:
Prolonged exposure to sound, even at normally ‘safe’ levels, can also
cause hearing loss.
Be sure to use your equipment reasonably and take appropriate
breaks.
Be sure to observe the following guidelines when using your
headphones.
Listen at reasonable volumes for reasonable periods of time.
Be careful not to adjust the volume as your hearing adapts.

Do not turn up the volume so high that you can’t hear what’s around
you.

1Open the battery compartment.
2Insert 6 batteries (type: R-14, UM-2 or C-cells) with correct
polarity (+/-) as indicated.
3Close the battery compartment.
Prepare the remote control
Caution
Risk of explosion! Keep batteries away from heat, sunshine or•
re. Never discard batteries in re.
Risk of decreased battery life! Never mix different brands or
•
types of batteries.
Risk of product damage! When the remote control is not used
•
for long periods, remove the batteries.
For rst-time use:
1Remove the protective tab to activate the remote control
batteries.
To replace the remote control batteries:
1Open the battery compartment.
2Insert 1 CR2025 batterie with correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
3Close the battery compartment.

Connect power
Warning
Risk of product damage! Ensure that the power supply voltage•
corresponds to the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the
apparatus.
Risk of electric shock! When you disconnect the AC power, always pull

the plug from the socket. Never pull the cord.

Install the apparatus near the power supply socket and where•
the power plug can be easily reached.
1Connect the AC power cord to the AC input jack on the
apparatus and to the power supply socket.
To switch the apparatus off completely, disconnect the
• AC power cord from the power supply socket.

To save energy: turn off the apparatus after use.•
4 Play
Play CD
1Slide the source selector to CD.
2Pull LIFT-OPEN to open the disc tray.
3Insert a disc with the printed side facing up, then close the disc tray.
Play starts automatically.»

Play tape
1Slide the source selector to TAPE.
2Press on main unit to open the tape door.
3Load the tape with the open side upward and the full spool to the
left.
4Press on main unit to start play.

Listen to an external device
You can listen to an MP3 player through this apparatus.
1Use a cable with 3.5mm plugs on both ends (not supplied) to
connect MP3 LINK jack (3.5mm) on this apparatus and the
headphone jack on an MP3 player.

5 Play options
Adjust volume level
1During play, turn VOLUME to increase/decrease the volume level.
Enhance bass
1During play, press DBB to turn on or off dynamic bass
enhancement.
If DBB is activated, DBB is displayed.»
Select play modes
1Press MODE repeatedly to select a play mode:
• [/] (repeat) – repeat a track
• [ALL] (repeat all) - repeat an entire CD/program
• [] (shufe) - play tracks randomly
2To return to normal play, press MODE repeatedly until play mode
icons are no longer displayed.
Tip
Only•and AL can be selected when you play
programmed tracks.
When play CD , Mode should be Repeat/Repeat All/Shufe.
•
When Mp3, Mode should be Repeat/Repeat Album/Repeat•
All/Shufe.

Program tracks
You can program a maximum of 20 tracks.
1In CD/USB mode, at the stop position, press PROG to activate the
program mode.
[PROG] (program) starts to blinks.»
2For MP3/WMA tracks, press AL-/AL+ to select an album.
3Press / to select a track number, then press PROG to conrm.
4Repeat steps 2 to 3 to program more tracks.
5Press on the main unit to play the programmed tracks.
During play, [PROG] is displayed.»
To erase the program, in the stop position, press
• .
To review the program, in the stop position, press and
• hold PROG for more than 2 seconds.
aGeneral information on cassette recording
Recording is permissible insofar as copyright or other
• rights of third parties are not infringed.
This deck is not suitable for recording on CHROME
• (IEC II) or METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording
you should use NORMAL type cassettes (IEC I) on which
the tabs have not been broken.
Check and tighten slack tape before use with a pencil to
• avoid jamming the deck mechanism.
The volume level is set automatically.
•
Tip
–No recording at beginning 7 seconds.•
–Break safeguard tab to prevent the accidental erasure of a•
recording.
