their RoadGear, for use at any location without a standard AC power source. The DC to
DC converter changes plus 12 volt DC currents, from, say, a battery pack, into the plus
/ minus 48 volt DC current reuired by the RoadGear Integrated Mobile Audio System. It
is recommeneded that users take the time to look carefully though this instruction leaet
as to gain maximum understanding of the operation and safety requirements of the DC
to DC converter, then store the instruction leaess in a place that is easy to nd for future

DC to DC converter.
● Take extreme caution when moving / operating / connectin g battery packs, as a large
battery is capable of short, high current output, able to cause physical harm to persons.
● Operate the DC to DC converter in a somewhat open area, allowing for adequate
ventilation.
● When connecting or operating the DC to DC converter, do not allow lose jewelry, rings,
or other conductive metals come into contact with battery terminals. Doing so may
result in severe shock. Such things should be removed before attempting to operate the
device.
● Do not expose this unit to moisture or rain, as to prevent re or electrical shock.
● Sparks and open ames should not be in close proximity of a battery, as it may result in

the positive terminal, black to negative.
NB. If a clip accidently comes lose while the Battery is in use, ensure you turn the DC to DC converter off before reconnecting to the
battery. Not doing so may result in damage being done to both the DC to DC converter and the RoadGear.
3. Insert the adaptor's multi-pin terminal into the DC power input at the back of the
RoadGear. Ensure the connector's clip is positioned the right way up to ensure the
polarity of the connections is correct.
4. Turn the DC to DC converter's on / off switch on.
NB. When using the DC-to-DC converter, the on / off switch on the converter will act as the RoadGear's on / off button, as the
connection of an external power supply bypasses the typical RoadGear AC power input and power switch.
