Safety Instructions
i
CAUTION – Possible damage!
Malfunctions are possible while programming the instruction codes – e.g.
sudden running of a connected motor, braking etc.
- Please test the program flow step by step.
i
CAUTION – Possible damage!
For each application, the functional reliability of software products by
external factors such as voltage differences or hardware failure, etc. is
affected.
- To prevent damage due to system error, the user should take
appropriate safety measures. These include back-up and shut-down
mechanisms.
i
CAUTION – Possible damage!
Each end user system is customised and differs from the testing platform.
Therefore the user or application designer is responsible for verifying and
validating the suitability of the application.
- The suitability of the device's use must be tested and validated.
i
CAUTION – Possible damage!
Some modules are set to a default value on delivery. So,e.g., the motor
current must be set to the corresponding value (see the motor data from
the motor manufacturer). Connected components like motors can be
damaged by incorrectly set values.
- Please check before starting, if the parameters are correct.

Ethernet Interface
MA 1281-A002 EN 6
3 General
The Ethernet network is an established interface for years by now and gains more and
more importance in control systems.
Phytron‘s well-tried modular stepper motor controller phyMOTIONTM also communicates
via Ethernet. The interface offers opportunities for remote access, monitoring and data
storage.
The phyMOTIONTM has a 10/100 MBit/sec Ethernet interface through the MCM01 module
and can also be easily integrated into existing Ethernet networks.
4 Technical Data
•10/100 Mbit/sec Ethernet interface
•The connection via RJ 45 connector (8-pole)
•TCP/IP access
•The port number of the controller is fixed to 22222 by phytron.

5 Ethernet Interface
The controller can be integrated into the firm’s network by the Ethernet interface and any
PC of that network can access it.
5.1 Connector
The Ethernet is connected via RJ 45 connector:
Fig. 1: RJ 45 Ethernet connector (8-pole)
IMPORTANT
i
:
The controller obtains its IP address either dynamically over DHCP
or in a static way!
5.2 User Data
The send telegram is defined as follows:
<STX> |
@| Command | : | CS
| <ETX>
Further Manual
You’ll find more information about the data format in the manual phyLOGICTM
instruction set.

5.3 Configuration
Interface parameters / Eth-MCM (phyLOGICTM ToolBox communication software)
integrates the controller MCC or phyMOTIONTM into the customer’s network by Ethernet.
Thereby a data exchange is possible in form of TCP/IP network protocols between all
devices in a local network.

: The IP address of the controller is searched only in the same subnet.
This functions only, if the controller obtained a valid IP address over DHCP.
: Installation of the controller’s IP address by MAC- and IP address input.
: Allocate the input IP address.
•You’ll find the controller’s MAC address on its type plate. Enter the MAC
address in the appropriate input field.
•If the PC is logged-in to more than one network interface card: Select that IP
address from the displayed list to which network interface card the controller is
connected.
•Enter a new IP address in the input field.
•Setting of the entered IP address by clicking on .
: Delete the IP address and reset the controller to the DHCP
mode.
: Connection to the controller via selected IP address. You’ll find the port
number in the controller’s manual.
: The device is online, which is shown in the status bar line.
i
The stepper motor controller is also configurable without phyLOGICTM
ToolBox communication software in any system through TCP/IP via port
no. 22222.
