1.1 Forward
Congratulations on your purchase of the U-greeny Vertical Gardening
System for small areas. With U-greeny you can grow, cultivate and harvest
vegetables, herbs, salads, flowers, berries and other plants in a very space-
saving and convenient way (for example on balconies, terraces, private
gardens, small areas and on the house wall).
You now have a unique planting system, which meets TÜV standards under
the test number and is approved for use.
No modification of the product is allowed except for opening the water outlets
or vents as described in chapter 6.1. If other modifications are made, any
consequences are not covered by the after sales service or the product
warranty.
The assembly instructions, parts and accessories and all the enclosed
documents should be kept for the duration of use of the system. Your U-
greeny vertical gardening system was made with special care. Should there
ever be an issue, please contact your local dealer and provide the proof of
purchase.

1.4 Using the manual
Please allow sufficient time to thoroughly read the following information on
the construction and safety of your U-greeny Vertical Gardening System
before setting it up. Illustrations supplement the text in this guide to help you
understand the process.
The instructions, parts and accessories and all accompanying documents
should be kept for the duration of use of the U-greeny Vertical Gardening
System
1.5 Effects of the weather
Natural weather conditions such as sun, UV radiation and moisture have
different effects depending on irradiation, altitude, temperature and duration
of use. Plastic naturally changes over time. This can lead to drying cracks,
the formation of which can be particularly noticeable when exposed directly
to the weather conditions and strong moisture fluctuations. The resulting
cracks can have an influence on the static properties and on the strength of

U-GREENY 01/19 3of 15 13-06-004-00009-V1-EN
the material. Cracking is a natural plastic property and is not a cause for
complaint. Depending on the light irradiation, UV radiation and weathering,
colour changes of the planter boxes may occur.
Due to the properties of plastic, moisture fluctuations can lead to
dimensional changes. This is unavoidable and can not be prevented. At
times it may be more moderate and at other times the effect is stronger. This
is a natural process and therefore not a complaint.
2. Safety Information

5. Product description
All components are made of durable and UV-stable HDPE material, a
recyclable plastic with test certificate.
The planters are only to be used from -20 ° C (-4 ° F) to + 50 ° C (122 ° F).
Note: Make sure that ice never forms in the planters.
5.1 Trivets
Fig.6
On the inside of the Trivet in each corner are hexagonal shaped receiving
domes (P). The plant box must be precisely positioned and snapped onto
these receiving domes. In the middle of each side and at the bottom are
predefined openings (W). Depending on the intended use, they can be
opened, see chapter 6.1.
Note: The Trivet and Top Planer differ only in the four support domes (P) of
the Trivet.

5.2 Planter Box
Fig. 7
On the bottom of each planter box in each corner are hexagonal shaped feet
(F), which fit exactly into the hexagonal receiving domes (P) of the Trivet.
These hexagonally shaped feet also fit precisely into the receptacles (V) of
the flaps on top of a second planter box. These flaps can be folded outwards
for space-saving storage. In each corner at the bottom of the planter box are
also two bottom holes (O), which ensure controlled flow of water to the Trivet.

6.3 Stack options defined
Fig. 10
With the U-greeny Vertical Gardening System, a maximum of two planter
boxes (A) and one top planter (C) are stacked on top of each other in the
Trivets (B). It is always necessary to start from below with the Trivet (B) or a
planter box (A), followed by another planter box (A) or top planter (C).
The stack variants are generally freely selectable and flexible to stack.
However, a variant shown in Figure 10 is recommended.

U-GREENY 01/19 12 of 15 13-06-004-00009-V1-EN
6.4 Stacking
Before stacking it is recommended to individually plant each planter box and
the top planter, before then stacking the already planted boxes.
WARNING
Avoid injuries!
Filled plant boxes are heavy.
Make sure the planter boxes are stacked properly.
Failure to do so may result in minor or moderate injury.
WARNING
Avoid injuries!
The cold protection cover only fastened with snap-in lugs.
Make sure that the protective cover is removed when it becomes
windy.
Failure to do so may result in minor or moderate injury.
Note: The maximum height of this system (including the cold protection
cover) is 1120 mm (44.09 in).
1. Place the Trivet on a level, solid surface. The maximum inclination may
not exceed 5 °.
2. On the inside of the Trivet in each corner are hexagonal shaped receiving
domes. The planter box must be precisely positioned and snapped onto
the receiving domes.
3. On the underside of each planter box in each corner are hexagonal
shaped feet which must be accurately positioned and locked in the
hexagonal shots of the flaps on the top of the planter box underneath.
Make sure that all four feet are in the designated positions. It must be
ensured that the Planter box is straight standing.
4. The Top Planter, also with four hexagonal feet, may only be positioned
at the respective latching points on the Trivet or on the flaps of the planter
box. The Top Planter is always the last and highest structural element
under the cold protection cover.
5. The cold protection hood is placed on the four snap-in lugs on the top of
the Top Planter and locked.

6.5 Stability Test
Test that the stack variant you have chosen is safe after assembly and all
feet are inserted and locked into the slots provided. The U-greeny Vertical
Gardening System can only be put into operation once its stacking variant
has been completely assembled and all parts have been checked for stability
and safety.
7. Useage
7.1 Planting
It is recommended to do the planting before stacking or assembling. Planting
recommendations can be found at: www.ugreeny.at.
7.2 Maximum weight load
A planter box or a top planter may each be loaded with a maximum of 25 kg
(55.12 lb) of weight. At most one planter box and a top planter with a total
weight of 55 kg (121.25 lb) may be stacked together on a planter box.
7.3 Watering
When watering the plants in the individual planter boxes and the top planter,
it should be noted that all plants receive the right amount of water according
to the plant species. Ideally, the entire surface of the earth is watered per
box. The excess water flows down through the holes in the bottom of the
boxes and in the flaps and is collected in the Trivet.
The Trivet must be emptied regularly to prevent overflow. If the planters are
used without a Trivet, the excess water will leak out through the holes in the
bottom of the bottom planter.

U-GREENY 01/19 14 of 15 13-06-004-00009-V1-EN
7.4 Transportation
Note: The individual boxes can also be re-stacked or transported with a max.
25 kg (55.12 lb) load.
WARNING
Avoid injuries!
Filled planter boxes are heavy.
Make sure the planter box is carried properly.
Failure to do so may result in minor or moderate injury.
Fig. 11
The planter boxes must be carried with the designated handles.
8. Maintenance
Clean the planters annually with a soft cloth and water before and after use.
No dishwashing liquid should be used, and no other caustic or other cleaning
agents should be used as they can attack, modify and destroy the surface.
In addition, these reduce the life of the U-greeny components.

U-GREENY 01/19 15 of 15 13-06-004-00009-V1-EN
