2 Before Using the Product
2.1 Congratulations
Congratulations on purchasing a high-quality PLDT product. Please
carefully this the user manual to understand all the features and how
your phone works, so you can enjoy using the device.
2.2 Safety information
To reduce the risk of electric shock and accidents, please follow the instruc-
tions below before using the phone.
1. Carefully read the instructions in this manual.
. Follow all recommendations given.2
NEVER use benzene, thinner, aerosols or other solvent-based products to 3.
clean any part of your phone. These strong products can cause permanent
damages which are not covered by warranty.
If necessary, disconnect phone from the electrical outlet and telephone line, 4.
clean with a damp cloth. Wiping your phone with damp cloth may result in
electric shock.
Do not use your phone in damp or where there is risk of explosion.5.
When installing batteries, make sure that the polarities are correct. Use only 6.
rechargeable batteries. Using non-rechargeable batteries may cause accidents
to the user and may damage the unit.
If you will not use the unit for more than a month, remove batteries from 7.

The icon will be displayed when the user pressed the TALK key.
The antenna icon will always be shown on the LCD, it indicates
for signal strength, flashes when the handset is out of range.
The alarm icon will be shown as steady when the alarm is set.
The alarm icon will flash when the alarm is triggered.
The icon will be displayed when the ringer is set to OFF.
The phonebook icon will be displayed when viewing the phonebook entry.
This icon will be shown when a new voice message is received.
This icon will be shown flashing when storage is full for new voice message.
The icon will be displayed when there is a new incoming call.

3 Installation
3.1 Main Base
1)Plug one end of the line cord (RJ11) in main dock
connector and the other end to the jack of your phone line.
2) Connect the terminal plug adapter in the main dock
connector and then plug the adapter to the electrical outlet.
3.2 Batteries
Put the rechargeable batteries that came with your telephone set.
Slide the battery compartment cover down1)
Insert the batteries following the correct polarities then 2)
close the compartment, slide the cover up
3.3 Charging the battery of the handset
To charge the batteries, place the handset on the base.
Important Note: Before you start using the apparatus let
it charge completely for 16 hours.

4 Operation
For all instructions in this manual, assume that the handset is in stand-by mode.
To put it in stand-by mode, briefly press the key
4.1 Making a Call
Press the button and you will hear the dial tone 1)
Enter the desired number 2)
To end the call, press the key3)
In case of error in entering the desired number to call, you can correct it by following
the procedures below:
Enter the desired phone number (up to 24 digits), in case of error press the 1)
button to delete the last digit. You can also insert a pause keeping the button pressed.
When the number is correct, press the button to start dialing. 2)
You can also perform a callback to the last 10 numbers dialed by using the redial function.
4.2 Receiving a Call
When a call is received, the caller's number will be displayed. If the number received
is stored in exactly the same way on the agenda, the display shows the caller's name.
To answer the call, press the key. If the AUTO ANSWER is set at ON, when 1)
the handset is removed from the base, the call will be answered automatically.
To end the call, press the key2)
4.3 Making a Call Back (Redial)
1)Press the key while in stand-by mode.Select the previously dialed number you
wish to call.
2)Press the key to dial the selected number.
4.3.1 Search and Call a Number from the Dialed Number List
From the Dialed Number List you can select among the 10 last dialed numbers, as
follow:
Press the key while in stand-by mode1)
2)Repeatedly press the orbuttons until you find the number you want to call.
3)Press the key to dial the selected number.
Notes:
- If there are no numbers in the list of dialed numbers, the display shows EMPTY.
- When the list of dialed numbers is full, each time a new number is dialed, the oldest
number will be replaced.

4.3.2 Dialed Number List Options
From the Dialed Number List you can store a number in phone book, delete a number
from this list or delete the entire list:
Press the key while in stand-by mode1)
Press the or buttons repeatedly until you find the desired number.2)
When the desired number is displayed, press the key.3)
Press the or keys until you find the desired option.4)
a.ADIC. AGENDA: allows you to add the number in your phone book. For more
details see chapter AGENDA.
b.DELETE: allows you to delete selected number from the Dialed Number List.
c.DELETE ALL: Allows you to delete the entire contents of Dialed Number List.
Press the button to confirm your choice.5)
Press the button to exit this menu and return to the stand-by mode.6)
Note: The Dialed Number List holds up to 24 digits per number.
4.4 Identifying calls
If the caller ID service is activated, everytime you receive a call, your carrier will
transmit over the phone line the calling party number (provided it does not hide its
identification), and this number will be shown on the handset's display.
If you have missed call(s), the will flash on the display. This unit can store up to
29 numbers.
PRIVATE: This message appears on the display when the incoming call is originated
from a place where the local operator does not provide a naming service or when the
caller assigned to hide sending their identification or if the number cannot be
interpreted. Example: when the call originates from a place whose main operator
can't be recognized by the network or when the call originates from another country.
4.4.1 View and dial a number from the list of identified numbers
Press the key while in stand-by mode.1)
If there are available numbers, press the or button until you find the 2)
number you wish to call. If necessary, press the button to get details of a call
such as date and time.
Press the key to dial the selected number.3)
Note: If there are no numbers in the list of Identified numbers, the display shows
EMPTY.
4.4.2 Save or delete numbers from the list of Identified Numbers
Press the key while in stand-by mode.1)

4.5 Key Lock
This function locks the keypad. When it is active, you can usually answer calls by
pressing the key. During a call, keys function normally and when the call ends
pressing the key will reactivate the lock automatically. To lock the keypad from the
Stand-by mode, press (sharp) and hold until you hear a long beep confirmation.
HS LOCKED will be displayed when the lock is active. To unlock the
keypad, press the key again (sharp) until you hear a long beep confirmation.
4.6 Speakerphone
During a call you can turn on the handset's speakerphone mode. On this mode you
can place the handset on a surface (e.g. a table) and enjoy the comfort of using it
hands free.
To turn on the speakerphone, press the button during a call.
To turn off the speakerphone without terminating a call, press the button again.
Note:
Make sure that the speakerphone is turned off before putting the handset close to
your ear, as high volume may damage your hearing.
4.7 Flash
During a call you can send a "flash" by pressing the key .
This feature is normally used to access special services such as call waiting or perform
the transfer / query when connected to a PBX.
Pressing the key during a call will show the message F on the display.
4.8 MUTE function
During a conversation, you can temporarily turn off the microphone so the person on
the other line won't hear you.
To turn on the mute, press the key during a conversation and the icon
will appear on the display.
To turn off the mute, press the key again.

4.9 Pause
The pause is useful when accessing Audible Response Units (or URA), as automatic
systems of banks. Pause inserts a delay of about 3 seconds.
If you want to insert a pause during dialing or when storing a number in memory, press
and hold for 2 seconds.
5 Basic Settings
5.1 Adjusting the Audio Volume
During a conversation, you can change the audio or speakerphone volume in 5
different levels.
Press the key once.1)

5.2 Configuring the Ringer
You can select different tones according to the origin of the call, internal or external.
Internal call is a way of communicating between extension handsets registered on
the same base, it does not use the service provider's telephone line. External call is a
call using the service provider's telephone line.The following steps describe how to
configure and tune the volume for each call type described above.
5.2.1 Ringer melody
Press the key . 1)
ReRepeatedly press the or buttons until you find the CONF option. Mono, 2)
then press the key .
Press the or keys until you find the CONF option.CAMP, then press the key.3)
Press the or buttons to choose between CAMP. EXTERNAL or CAMP.4)
INTERNAL, then press the key .
Press the or keys until you find the desired option, then press the key 5)
to confirm.
There are 10 different melodies available. The handset plays while selecting a melody.
5.2.2 Ringer volume
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the CONF option. Mono, then 2)
press the key .
Press the or keys until you find the CONF option. CAMP, then press the key . 3)
Press the or keys until you find the VOLUME option, then press the key .4)
Press the or keys until you find the desired volume level, then press the 5)
tbutton to confirm.

There are 6 available volume levels (including ringer option off). The handset plays
while selecting a volume level.
Notes:
• When the volume is set to OFF, the handset will show the icon on the display.
• You can also turn on and turn off the ringer by holding down button.
5.3 Selecting language
The handset supports several languages, with this feature you can change the
language used in the display and menu messages. To change the language, follow
below instructions:
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the CONF option. Mono2)
Then press the button to select this option.3)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the LANGUAGE option.4)
Then press the button to select this option.5)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you reach the desired language;6)
Press the button to select the language. You will hear a beep confirming your 7)
selection.
5.5 Assigning a name to the handset
When registered to the base, the handset sets a default name that will be displayed
during stand-by mode. The default name is "Handset X", where X is the number of the

handset for internal calls. To change the handset name, follow below instructions:
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the CONF option. Mono, 2)
then press the key .
Then press the button to select this option.3)
Press the or keys until you find the NAME mono option.4)
Then press the button to select this option.5)
Using the alphanumeric keys, enter a name up to 9 characters. In case of error in 6)
typing, press the key to delete the previous character.
Press the button to confirm the name then exit. The handset name will be 7)
changed.
5.6 Auto Answer
This feature allows you to answer calls automatically even when the handset is
removed from the base. There is no need to press any button to perform the service.
To enable or disable the Auto Attendant, follow below instructions:
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the CONF option. Mono, 2)
then press the key .
Then press the button to select this option.3)
Press the or buttons until you find TAD option. AUTO.4)
Then press the button to select this option.5)
Press the or buttons to choose between ON and OFF, to enable or disable 6)
the function.
Press the button to confirm the desired option. You will hear a beep confirming 7)
your selection.
5.7 Dialing mode
You can change the dialing mode, choose between Pulse and Tom.
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the SETUP option. BASE.2)
Then press the button to select this option;3)
Press the or keys until you find the DISC MODE option.4)
Then press the button to select this option.5)
Press the or buttons to switch between TOM and PULSE.6)
Press the button to confirm the desired option. You will hear a beep confirming 7)
your selection.
5.8 Flash Time
You can change the flash time by following below steps:

Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the SETUP option. BASE.2)

Note:
Flash options are equivalent to short and long, 100 milliseconds and 300
milliseconds respectively.
5.9 Tones and Alerts
You can turn on or off key tones when pressed, low battery alert or warning sign of a
weak base.

Note:
For normal use, it is recommended to leave the pitch on keys, as this aides in
using device.
5.10 Setting Date and Time

Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the SETUP option. Mono.2)

Press the or keys until you find the DATE AND TIME option.4)

Note:
Time information should be in the standard 24 hours (00:00 to 23:59).
When the base was turned off, you must set the time again after restart.

6 Advanced Features
For all instructions in this manual, assume that the handset is in stand-by mode.To
put it in stand-by mode, briefly press the .
6.1 Navigation Menu
To access the menu option:
Press the key .1)

To return to stand-by mode:
Pressing the key returns to stand-by mode. Pressing the ESC key from any menu
item (not applicable to the number or text entry modes), the handset returns to previous
menu screen. The handset also returns to stand-by mode when no key is pressed for
20 seconds.
6.2 Map menu

6.3 Character Map
To use a specific alphanumeric character, press one or more times a given key until
the desired character appears. Press the key once for the first character, twice for the
second and so on. This function is used when you want to include a name in the
directory, name of the handset, etc.
Below table illustrates the characters available and how to locate them.

6.4 AgendaThe handset phonebook allows you to store frequently used numbers so
you can make calls quickly without the need to manually enter the number.
You can store up to 50 contacts with name and number.
6.4.1 Adding contacts on the agenda
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find AGENDA option.2)
Then press the button to select this option.3)
Press the or buttons until you find the NEW REG option.4)
Then press the button to select this option.5)
The display will show the message NAME ?, type the name you want to save then 6)
press the button to confirm the name.
The display will show the message NUMBER ?, type the number you want to save 7)
then press the button to confirm.
The display will show the message MELODY x, where x is the current melody 8)
number. Press the or keys until you find the desired melody to play when
this contact calls you.

Note:
In case of error while typing (character or number), press the key to delete
the last digit.

6.4.5 Deleting a contact from the phonebook
1) Press the key .
2) Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find AGENDA option.
3) Then press the button to select this option.
4) Press the or buttons until you find the REG DELETE option.
5) Then press the button to select this option.
6) Press the or keys until you find the contact you want to delete.
7) Press the key then the phone will request a new confirmation.
8) Then press the button to confirm.
6.4.6 Deleting all phonebook entries
Press the key .1)
Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find AGENDA option.2)

6.4.7 Checking the capacity of the agenda
Press the key .1)

4) Press the or buttons until you find the STATE MEM option. Then press the
button to select this option,, then the phone will display on XX / 50 display, where
XX is the number of saved contacts and 50 is the maximum.

6.5 Conference, Transfer and Internal Call
If you have more than one handset registered on the same basis, you can make
internal calls, transfer external calls to other handsets or hold conference to 3 people
with two handsets and an outside call.
6.5.1 Performing an Internal Call
1) Press the key.
2) Enter the handset number you want to call (1-5).
3) If the number entered is valid, the called handset will ring and the display will show
the message CHAM INT X, where X is the number of the calling handset.
4) To answer an internal call press the button .
5) To end the call press the key .
Note:
If there is an incoming external call during an internal call, the handset will notify
you of the call. The user must press the button to end the call and then press
the key to answer the incoming call.
6.5.2 Consultation between handsets
During an external call, you can switch to an internal call by following below procedure:
1) During an external call, press the key .
2)Enter the handset number which you want to call (1-5).
3) You can talk to the called handset if it's available. When you want to return to the
external call simply press the key .
6.5.3 Call Transfer between Handsets
You can transfer calls between handsets registered to the same base.
1) During an external call, press the key .
2) Enter the handset number to which you want to transfer (1-5).
3) Transfer the external call by pressing the key .
6.5.4 Performing 3-Way Conference
The 3-way conference can be held between an external call and two handsets.
1) During an external call, press the key .
2) Enter the handset number you want to hold conference with (1 to 5).
3) When the other handset answers, press and hold for 2 seconds to start the
conference.
4) Simply press the button to leave the conference, normally the call will continue
between the other handset and the external call.

6.6 Reset Handset
This function allows you to restore all factory default settings for the handset.
1) Press the key .
2) Repeatedly press the or buttons until you find the SETUP option. Mono.
3) Then press the button to select this option.
4) Press the or buttons until you find the RET option. CONF. FAB.
5) Then press the button to select this option.
6) 6) The display will show the PIN message ?, prompting you to enter the current PIN
code (default PIN code is 0000 factory). After entering your PIN, press to confirm.

If the entered PIN is correct all factory settings will be restored, otherwise if PIN is
incorrect, you'll hear a warning beep sound and nothing will be changed. After
rebooting, the handset will return to stand-by mode.
6.8 Handset Registration and Cancellation
If you buy extra handsets separately, you can register up to 5 handsets on the same
base, thus allowing all these handsets to share a single telephone line service.
6.8.1 Registering a handset in D801 base (Procedure 1)
1)Remove power of the base where you want to register the handset and place it back
after 5 seconds. This will put the base in registration mode for 3 minutes.
2) Press the handset key while on stand-by mode.
3) Repeatedly press the keys or until you find the REGISTRATION option.
4) Press the key to select this option.
5) Press the or buttons to choose which will be the base number for the
handset. There are four bases available for each handset (1 to 4).
6) Press the button to select the desired base.
7) The display will show the PIN message ?, asking you to enter the PIN code (the
default PIN code at the factory is 0000).
8) After entering the PIN, press to confirm. The display will then show
BASE SEARCH message and begin searching for the base. If the PIN is incorrect you
will hear a warning beep sound and nothing will be changed, otherwise if connection
is successful, you will hear a confirmation beep.
Note:
If the base is not found, the REG FAILED message will appear briefly on the
display. It is suggested to repeat the registration procedure until you achieve
successful connection.
6.8.2 Registering a handset in the D801
