TheRTISeriesBookshelfLoudspeakersweredesignedtoproiiideexcellentperformanceona
bookshelf,inawallunitorplacedonafloorstand(availablefromyourPolkAudioretailer,or
l~ttp://shop.~oll~audio.co~n/).Togetthemostrealisticstereoimageandlifelikesound,placethe
speakerssothatanequilateraltriangleiscreatedbetweenthespeakersandyourfavorite
~~~~iI].Ifyoumustplacethespeakersfartherapartthanthedistamefrom
ng,anglelhespeakerstowardthemiddleinordertosupportamoresolid
centerimage.IfyouareusingyourRTI’SeriesBookshelfLoudspeakersasrearchannelsinahome
theatersyslem,theyshouldbeplac ewalls,slightlyabove(and,ontheside
wallsbehind)thelisteningposition
Togetthemostrealist,icstereoimageandlifelikesound,placethespeakers
triangleiscreatedbetweenthespeakersandyourfavoritelisteningposition
roomarrangementforcesyoutoplacet.hespeakersfartherapartthanthedistancefromwhich
youarelislening,anglelhespeakerstowardthemiddleinorder10supportamoresolidcenter
image.Rubberfeetandadjustablecarpetspikesareincludedloprovidestabilityonanytypeof
floor.Toinstallthem,laythespeakercarefullyonitssideandscrewinthespikesasfarasthey
willgointothethreadedinsertsinthebaseofthespeaker.Forwoodortilefloors,sliparubber
footovereachspike.Forcarpetedfloors,usebarespikes Youwillachieveoptimum
performancewhenthespeakerislevelandstableinalldirect,ions.

Followthehookupdireclionsincludedwithyourreceiver.Strip ‘f/2inch(12.7mm)ofinsulation
fromeachof thetwoconductorsofthewire toexposethebareme&l andtwisteachofthe
individualconductorsintosingleunfrayedstrands.Notethatoneoftheterminalsontherearof
eachspeakeris red(+) andtheotherisblack(0. Makecertainthatyouconneclthewire fromthe
red(+) terminalofyouramplifieror receivertothered(-I-)terminalonyourspeakerandIhewire
fromtheblack(-) terminalofyouramplifieror receiverbotheblack(-) terminalonyourspeaker.
Mostwire hassomeindicator(suchascolor-coding,ribbingorwriting)ononeoflhetwo
conductorslohelpyoumain&& consistency.
Toconnectwire tothebindingpost nsre51,unscrewthehexnutandinsertt.hebarewire inbo
theholenearthebaseOFthebindin st.Donot.inserttheinsulafcdpar1ofthewireinbothehole
asthiswill notgiveyouagoodconnection.‘Wst lhehexnutbackdownthebindingpost,until it
firmlymeefsthewire. Donotovertighten.

bananana-plughole.

amplifier’:afterremovingthejumpers,connectonesetofspeakerwirestotheupperterminalson

otherendsofbothwire sets10thecorrespondingamplifieroutputs.

jumpers,connectthespeakerwiresfromthehighfrequencyamplifierout,putstotheuppersetof
terminalpostsoneachspeaker.Followlhesameprocedurefor connecting6helowfrequency
amplifieroutputstothelowerset,ofterminals.Rememberlo maintaincorrectwiringpolarity
(+ to+-,- to-) inall connemions.
