itskindwhichcanprotectdata againsttheftordamage.Theprotectionlevel
isABSOLUTE!
1.1Switchapplication
E320 allowstohandletwoseparatecomputersystems(computersor
computernetworks)inoneworkplace (display,keyboard andmouse),
withoutanypossibilityof data exchangebetweenthesetwosystems. Soone
ofthesystemscanbeconnectedtoadangerousareawithanattackrisk, the
secondcanoperatewithsecretdata.Bothcomputersmustbeequippedwith
DVIorHDMIvideooutput.
2.0PrinciplesofOperation
Aprincipleof theintelligentKVM switchE320 hasbeenbasedonapatent
validinEuropeanUnion, USA and Russia.
Twooutputvideosignalsfromtwocomputershavebeenmergedintoone
videooutput.OnmouseclickE320canrecognizetowhichsystemthe
mouseandkeyboardhavetobeswitchedon.Afixbackgroundcoloris
necessaryforthecorrectfunction.
All thesignaltransfersbetweenE320 andsystemsarestrictlyunidirectional,
sothereisnotpossibilitytosendanydata fromonecomputertosecondone
through E320.
Duetothephysicalprinciplesoftheone-waydata transfers
thesecurityofE320isABSOLUTE!
2.1HWrequirements
TwocomputerswithDVIorHDMIgraphicoutputsarenecessaryforE320
application. ThecomputersmustbeequippedwithUSBinterfacestoo. A
displaywithDVIorHDMIconnector,PS/2mouseandPS/2keyboardare
necessaryaswell.E320isabletomergethegraphicoutputsup to
1280 x1024 pixelsresolution.

TheoperatingsystemsofbothcomputersmustsupportHID(human
Interface Device).
3.0Installation
Thereisnotnecessarytoinstallanydrivertooperatingsystem.Afterthe
installationof thecablesandpowersupplyit isnecessarytosetthedisplay
parametersinoperating systems.
IntelligentKVMswitchE320doesaffecttheoperatingsystemsinno
manner.
3.1Cables
Eachof thecomputersystemhastobeconnectedtothebackswitchpanel
bytwocables-DVIand USB.
ThecablesconnectfromgraphiccardsoutputswithDVIinputs.Becareful
toconnecttheUSB1andDVI1 cablestothesamecomputer.Ifthegraphic
cardoutputconnectorisHDMItype,it isnecessarytouseHDMI->DVI
cableinsteadof DVI->DVIone.

TherearetwoPS/2connectorsforkeyboardandmouseand aDVI
connectorforlocal displayonthefrontpanel.

Itisrecommendedtoconnecta
powersupplyinthelastorder.

backpanel(PWR).Indicator
lightswhenthesupplyisOK.
Itisrecommendedtousean
originalpowersupplyadapter.

parametersarefixed.
Thebackground colorisgiventoo.Nopicturescanbeplacedonthe
desktop. Ithastobemonochromatic(backgroundcolor).
Factorycolorsettingis
{0,0,1}(R,G,B).Basically
eachofthecomputersystems
canhaveitsownbackground
color.Itcanbedoneeitherby
manufacturerorauthorized
partner.
Incaseofincorrect
backgroundcolorsettingorotherthan32bitscolorqualitythepictures
frombothcomputerswillnotbeprocessedproperly.
IntelligentnKVM switchE320 canbecontrolledintwoways.
4.0Application
Inusual modeofoperationonamouseclicktheswitchE320 analysesa
colorof thepixelactuallyaddressedbycursor.Ifthepixelcolorequalsto
abackgroundcolor, noactionwill bedone.InothercaseE320 canidentify
towhichsystembelongstothepixel.Keyboardand mouseareimmediately
switchedtothissystem.Windows andiconsof theselectedsystemare
displayedinforeground,thewindowsandiconsof thesecondsystemare
displayedinbackground.TwocolorLEDonafrontpanelshowswhat
systemhasbeenisactuallyselected–redcolorindicatessystemNo.1, green
colorNo.2.
An operatorworkswithtwocomputer systemsasthesameway aswith
onecomputer under Windows.
Thereisanotherwayhowtocontrolthesystemsswitching–keyboard
abbreviations.Eachactionmustbestartedwithdoublepress {ScrollLock}
keyandthenmustbepressedanumberonthenumberpartofthekeyboard.

Onlyoneoperatingsystemcanbeseen

correctly(seethechapter3.4Operating systemsetting).
Mouseorkeyboarddoesn’tworkafterstartofoperating system
