IMPORTANT: THIS CUTTING MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF AMPUTATING HANDS AND FEET AND THROWING OBJECTS.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
I. GENERAL OPERATION
•Reed,understand,andfollowallinstructionsinthemanual
and onthe machine beforestarting.
•Only allow responsibleadults, who are familiar withthe
instructions,tooperate the machine.
•Clear thearea ofobjects suchas rocks,toys, wire, etc.,
whichcould be pickedup and thrown bythe blade.
•Besure the area isclear ofotherpeople beforemowing.
Stop machine ifanyone enters the area.
•Never carrypassengers.
•Do not mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary.
Always lookdownand behind beforeand whilebacking.
•Beawam ofthe mowerdischargedirectionanddonotpeint
itatanyone. Do notoperate themowerwithouteitherthe
entire grass catcher orthe guard in place.
•Slowdownbeforetuming.
•Never leave a runningmachineunattended. AIwaystum
off blades, set parkingbrake, stop engine, and remove
keys beforedismounting.
•Turn offblades when notmowing.
•Stopengine beforeremovinggrasscatcher orunclogging
chute.
•Mow only indaylightor goodartificiallight.
•Do notoperate the machine whileunderthe influenceof
alcoholordrugs.
•Watch for trafficwhen operating near or crossingroad-
ways.
•Useextracarewhen loadingorunlcadingthemachineinto
atraileror truck.
•Dataindicatesthatoperators,age60yearsandabove,are
involvedin alarge percentage of riding mower-related
injuries.These operatorsshouldevaluate theirabilityto
operatethe dding mower safelyenoughto protectthem-
selvesand othersfrom serious injury.
•Keep machinefree ofgrass, leavesorother debdsbuild-
upwhichcan touchhotexhaust /engine partsand bum.
Do not allow the mower deck to plow leaves
orotherdebriswhichcan cause build-uptooccur. Clean
any oil or fuel spillage before operating or stodng the
machine. Allow machine to cool before
storage.
II. SLOPE OPERATION
Slopesare a major"factorrelatedto loss-of.controland ltpover
accidents,whichcan resultinsevereinjuryor death. Allslopes
requireextracaution.Ifyoucannotbackuptheslopeorifyoufeel
uneasyonit,de notmowit.
DO:
•Mow upand downslopes, not across.
•Remove obstaclessuch as rocks,tree limbs,etc.
•Watch for holes, ruts,or bumps. Uneven terrain could
overturnthe machine. Tallgrass can hideobstacles.
•Use slow speed. Choose a low geer sothat you willnot
have to stopor shiftwhile on the slope.
•Followthe manufacturer's recommendationsfor wheel
weightsorcounterweightsto improve stability.
•Useextracare withgrasscatchers or otherattachments.
These can change the stabilityof the machine.
•Keep all movement onthe slopess/owand gradual Do
notmake sudden changes inspeed ordirection.

•Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope. Iftiresloeetraction,
disengage theblades and proceed slowlystraightdown
the slope.
DO NOT:
•Do not turn on slopesunless necessary,and then,turn
slowlyand gradually downhill,if possible.
•Do not mow near drop-offs,ditches, or embankments.
The mowercouldsuddenlytumoverifawheel isoverthe
edge ofa cliffor ditch, or ifan edge caves in.
•Do notmow on wetgrass. Reduced traction couldcause
sliding.
•Donottrytostabilizethemechinebyputtingyourfooton
thegreund.
•Do notuse grass catcher on steep slopes.
IlL CHILDREN
Tragic accidentscan occurif the operatorisnot alertto the
presence of children. Children are often attracted to the
machineandthemowingactivity.Neverassumethat children
willremainwhere you lastsawthem.
•Keep children out of the mowing area and under the
watchfulcare ofanother responsibleadult.
•Bealert and tum machineoffifchildrenenter thearea.
•Beforeandwhen bacldng,lookbehindanddownforsmall
children.
•Never carry children. They may fall offand be seriously
injuredorinterferewith safe machineoperation.
•Never allowchildrento operatethe machine.
•Useextracare when approachingblindcomers, shrubs,
trees, or otherobjectsthat may obscurevision.
IV. SERVICE
•Useextracarein handlinggasolineandotherfuels. They
are flammable and vaporsare explosive.
- Use onlyanapprovedcontainer.
- Never remove gas cap or add fuel with the engine
running. Allowengine tocoolbeforerefueling. Do not
smoke.
- Never refuelthe machine indcors.
- Never storethe machine orfuelcontainer insidewhere
there isan open flame, such as a water heater.
•Never runa machine insideaclosed area.
•Keep nutsand bolts,especially bladeattachment bolts,
tightand keep equipmentingoodcondition.
•Never tamper with safety devices. Check their proper
operationregularly.
•Keep machinefree ofgrass,leaves,orotherdebrisbuild-
up.Cleanoilorfuel spillage.Allowmachine tocoolbefore
stodng.
•Stop and inspect the equipment if you stdke an object.
Repair, ifnecessary, beforerestarting.
•Never make adjustments or repairs with the engine
running.
•Grass catcher componentsaresubjecttowear, damage,
and detedoration,which couldexpose moving parts or
allowobjectstobethrown. Frequentlycheckcompenents
and replace with manufacturer's recommended parts,
when necessary.
•Mowerbladesaresharpandcancut. Wraptheblade(s)
or wear gloves, and use extra caution when servicing
them.
•Check brake operation frequently. Adjust and service
as required.
