GENERAL SAFETY
1. READ and become familiar with this entire instruction manual. LEARN the tool’s
applications, limitations, and possible hazards.
2. AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. Do not use power tools in wet or damp areas or
expose them to rain. Keep work areas well-lit.
3. DO NOT use power tools in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.
4. ALWAYS keep your work area clean, uncluttered, and well-lit. DO NOT work on floor
surfaces that are slippery.
5. KEEP BYSTANDERS AT A SAFE DISTANCE from the work area, especially when the
tool is operating. NEVER allow children or pets near the tool.
6. DO NOT FORCE THE TOOL to do a job for which it was not designed.
7. DRESS FOR SAFETY. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, or jewelry (rings,
watches, etc.) when operating the tool. Inappropriate clothing and items can get
caught in moving parts and draw you in. ALWAYS wear non-slip footwear and tie back
long hair.
8. ALWAYS remove the power cord plug from the electrical outlet when making
adjustments, changing parts, cleaning, or working on the tool.
9. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE AND IN WORKING ORDER.
10. AVOID ACCIDENTAL START-UPS. Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position
before plugging in the power cord.
11. NEVER LEAVE A RUNNING TOOL UNATTENDED. Turn the power switch to OFF. Do not
leave the tool until it has come to a complete stop.
12. NEVER STAND ON A TOOL. Serious injury could result if the tool tips or is accidentally
hit. DO NOT store anything above or near the tool.
13. MAINTAIN TOOLS PROPERLY. ALWAYS keep tools clean and in good working order.
Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
14. DO NOT operate the tool if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or
medication that could affect your ability to use the tool properly.
15. USE SAFETY GOGGLES AT ALL TIMES that comply with
ANSI Z87.1. Normal safety glasses only have impact
resistant lenses and are not designed for safety. Wear a
face or dust mask when working in a dusty environment.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR AIR FILTERS
1. To reduce the risk of injury, unplug the air filter from the power source before
changing filters or servicing.
2. If mounting the air filter to the ceiling:
a. Make sure the bottom of the air filter is at least 7' above the floor.
b. Make sure the air filter is anchored to a building structure that is capable of
supporting a minimum of 100 lbs.
c. Do not mount the air filter to non-structural elements such as drywall, false
ceiling panels, etc.
3. Position the air filter so that it is at least 3' from a corner and from any heating or
cooling vents.
4. Do not use the air filter in environments that have volatile fumes or smoke. This air
filter is designed and intended for the filtration of airborne wood dust only.
5. Do not expose the air filter to water or rain. Do not use in damp environments.
6. Do not duct a power tool or machine directly into the air filter.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
IN THE EVENT OF A MALFUNCTION OR BREAKDOWN, grounding provides the path of least
resistance for electric current and reduces the risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with
an electric cord that has an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug
MUST be plugged into a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance
with ALL local codes and ordinances.
DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED. If it will not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet
installed by an electrician.
IMPROPER CONNECTION of the equipment grounding conductor can result in electric shock.
The conductor with the green insulation (with or without yellow stripes) is the equipment
grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary, DO NOT
connect the equipment grounding conductor to a live terminal.
CHECK with a licensed electrician or service personnel if you do not completely understand the
grounding instructions, or if you are not sure if the tool is properly grounded.
USE ONLY THREE-WIRE EXTENSION CORDS that have 3-pronged plugs and outlets that accept
the tool's plug as shown in Fig. A. Repair or replace a damaged or worn cord immediately.

UNPACKING
Carefully unpack the air filter and all its parts. Do not discard the carton or any packaging until
the air filter is completely assembled.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
The air filter is designed to circulate air and filter wood and other non-metallic dust. The unit
requires only minimal assembly. However, it is important to consider how and where to place
the unit. When selecting a site, make sure there is a suitable power source nearby. Do not use
extension cords with the air filter.
HANGER PLACEMENT (FIG. 1)
1. Thread the locknuts (1) almost all the way up the hanger (2).
2. Thread a hanger into each of the four mounting holes (3) on the top of the air filter
cabinet.
3. Tighten each locknut against the cabinet top. Hold the hangers so that they do not
spin while tightening the locknut.
CEILING PLACEMENT (FIG. 1 AND 2)
Make sure the unit will be situated at least 7' above the floor and at least 3' (1 m) away from a
corner and from any heating or air vents.
1. Install the wood screw hooks (4) into the building support structure. Do not mount
the air filter to non-structural surfaces such as drywall or false ceiling grids. The
hooks are rated for this air filter, and can support a minimum of 100 lbs.
2. Place a chain (6) on each wood screw hook (4).
3. Attach the hangers (2) on each chain (6).
4. Make sure the unit is level horizontally, and is at least 7' above the floor. If it is not,
remove the air filter and adjust the length of the chain as needed. Then remount the
unit.
5. Plug the air filter power cord directly into a power source.

OPERATION
The air filter can be operated directly using the control panel or with the remote control.
TURN ON THE AIR FILTER AND SPEED SETTING (FIG. 3 AND 4)
1. Plug the power cord into an appropriate power source.
2. Press the ON/Speed button (1) on the control panel or the remote control to power on
the air filter. The air filter will be running at low speed. The LO LED will light, indicating
that the unit has been working at low speed.
3. Press the ON/Speed button (1) again to change the speed. The LEDs (2) next to the
ON/Speed button on the control panel indicate the selected speed - high, medium, or
low.
SET THE TIMER (FIG. 3 AND 4)
A timer allows you to set the length of time (1, 2, 4 hours and clear the timer) that the air filter
will operate before shutting off automatically. The air filter timer can be set with the remote
control only.
1. Press the TIME button (5) on the remote control to start the timer. The cycle is 1 hour,
2 hours, 4 hours and clear the timer.
2. Press the TIME button (5) on the remote control to set the timer. The LEDs (4) on the
control panel indicate the amount of time selected.
Note: the unit will shut off automatically after the selected time interval elapses. When you
choose clear the timer, the air filter will keep running until turning it off.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, unplug the air filter from the power source before
changing the filters or servicing the air filter.
CHANGE THE FILTERS (FIG. 5 AND 6)
Check the inner and outer filters periodically, depending on the amount of use, and change the
filters when needed. Clogged filters will reduce the amount of air circulating through the filter.
1. Lift up the clips (1) and remove the outer filter (2) from the cabinet housing.
2. Pull the inner filter (3) out of the cabinet.
3. Install a new inner filter.
4. Install a new outer filter. The arrow on the outside of the filter indicates the proper
direction to insert the filter into the cabinet.

CHECK AND REPLACE THE FUSE (FIG. 7)
1. Turn the fuse cap (1) counterclockwise to loosen and pull the fuse away from the
control panel.
2. Insert a new fuse (2A) (2) in the fuse cap and put it into the control panel.

REPLACE THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE CONTROL
1. Open the battery compartment on the remote control.
2. Remove the old batteries.
3. Install 2 new "AA" batteries according to the picture shown in the battery compartment.

RÈGLES DE SÉCURITÉ SPÉCIFIQUES POUR LES FILTRES À AIR
1. Afin d'éviter le risque de blessure, débranchez le filtre à air de la source d'énergie
avant de remplacer les filtres ou de procéder à l'entretien.
2. Si vous installez un filtre à air au plafond :
a. Assurez-vous que le dessous du filtre à air se trouve au moins à 7 pi au-dessus
du plancher.
b. Assurez-vous que le filtre à air est fixé à une structure du bâtiment capable de
soutenir un poids d'au moins 100 lb.
c. Ne fixez pas le filtre à air à des éléments qui ne font pas partie de la structure,
comme une cloison sèche, de faux panneaux de plafond, etc.
3. Placez le filtre à air de façon à ce qu'il se trouve au moins à 3 pi d'un coin et des
orifices de chauffage ou de ventilation.
4. N'utilisez pas le filtre à air dans les environnements produisant des émanations ou
des fumées volatiles. Le filtre à air a été conçu pour filtrer des poussières de bois en
suspension dans l'air seulement.
5. N'exposez pas le filtre à air à l'eau ou la pluie. Ne l'utilisez pas dans des endroits humides.
6. Ne reliez pas un outil électrique ou un appareil directement au filtre à air.
INFORMATION AU SUJET DU SYSTÈME ÉLECTRIQUE
INSTRUCTIONS POUR LA MISE À LA MASSE
EN CAS DE DÉFAILLANCE OU DE PANNE, la mise à la masse fournit un chemin de moindre
résistance pour le courant électrique, ce qui réduit le risque de choc électrique. Cet outil est équipé
d'un cordon électrique muni d'un conducteur de mise à la masse d'équipement et d'une prise de
mise à la masse. La prise doit être branchée dans une sortie correspondante qui est correctement
installée et mise à la masse conformément à tous les codes et à tous les règlements locaux.
NE MODIFIEZ PAS LA FICHE FOURNIE. Si elle ne s'adapte pas à la prise; demandez à un
électricien agréé d'installer la prise appropriée.
LA MAUVAISE CONNEXION du conducteur de mise à la masse d'équipement peut entraîner
un choc électrique. Le conducteur muni de l'isolant vert (avec ou sans bandes jaunes) est le
conducteur de mise à la masse de l'équipement. Si la réparation ou le remplacement du cordon
électrique ou la fiche est nécessaire, ne connectez PAS le conducteur de mise à la masse
d'équipement à une borne sous tension.
CONSULTEZ un électricien agréé ou le personnel d'entretien si vous ne comprenez pas parfaitement
les instructions de mise à la masse ou en cas de doute sur l'état de mise à la masse de l'outil.
UTILISEZ SEULEMENT DES RALLONGES À TROIS FILS qui ont des fiches et des prises du
type à 3 broches tel qu'indiqué à la figure A. Réparez ou remplacez immédiatement tout cordon
endommagé ou usé.

Déballez soigneusement le filtre à air et toutes ses pièces. Ne jetez pas la boîte ou tout emballage
avant d'avoir assemblé complètement le filtre à air.

MONTAGE ET RÉGLAGES
Le filtre à air a été conçu pour faire circuler l'air et éliminer la poussière de bois et les autres
types de poussière non métallique. L'appareil doit faire l'objet d'un assemblage minimal
seulement. Cependant, il est important de déterminer la méthode et le lieu d'installation de
l'appareil. Au moment de choisir un endroit, assurez-vous qu'une source d'énergie appropriée
se trouve à proximité. N'utilisez pas de rallonges avec le filtre à air.
INSTALLATION AU MOYEN D'UN SUPPORT (FIG. 1)
1. Vissez les contre-écrous (no1) presque jusqu'au bout sur le support (no2).
2. Vissez un support dans chacun des quatre trous de montage (no3) sur le dessus de
l'armoire du filtre à air.
3. Vissez chaque contre-écrou contre le dessus de l'armoire. Tenez les crochets pour les
empêcher de tourner lorsque vous serrez le contre-écrou.
INSTALLATION AU PLAFOND (FIG.1 ET 2)
Assurez-vous que l'appareil se trouvera au moins à 7 pi au-dessus du plancher et au moins à
3 pi (1 m) d'un coin ou des orifices de chauffage ou d'aération.
1. Installez les crochets munis de vis à bois (no4) dans la structure d'appui de l'édifice.
Ne fixez pas le filtre à air à des surfaces qui ne font pas partie de la structure, comme
une cloison sèche, des grilles de faux plafond, etc. Les crochets ont été conçus pour
ce filtre à air, alors qu'ils peuvent soutenir un poids d'au moins 100 lb.
2. Placez une chaîne (no6) sur chaque crochet muni d'une vis à bois (no4).
3. Fixez les supports (no2) à chaque chaîne (no6).
4. Assurez-vous que l'appareil est placé à l'horizontale et au moins à 7 pi au-dessus du
plancher. Si tel n'est pas le cas, enlevez le filtre à air et ajustez la longueur de la chaîne
en fonction des besoins. Réinstallez ensuite l'appareil.
5. Branchez le cordon d'alimentation du filtre à air directement dans une source d'énergie.

FONCTIONNEMENT
Le filtre à air peut être actionné directement à partir du panneau de commandes ou au moyen de
la télécommande.
ACTIONNEZ LE FILTRE À AIR ET RÉGLEZ LA VITESSE (FIG. 3 ET 4)
1. Branchez le cordon d'alimentation dans une source d'énergie appropriée.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton marche/vitesse (no1) sur le panneau de commandes ou au
moyen de la télécommande pour actionner le filtre à air. Le filtre à air fonctionnera
à basse vitesse. La DÉL BAS s'allumera pour indiquer que l'appareil a fonctionné à
basse vitesse.
3. Appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton marche/vitesse (no1) pour modifier la vitesse. Les
DÉL (no2) se trouvant près du bouton marche/vitesse sur le panneau de commandes
indiquent la vitesse choisie, soit haute, moyenne ou basse.
RÉGLAGE DE LA MINUTERIE (FIG. 3 ET 4)
Une minuterie vous permet de régler le temps de fonctionnement du filtre à la durée souhaitée
(1, 2, 4 heures pour ensuite s'arrêter) avant qu'il ne s'arrête automatiquement. Le filtre à air
peut être réglé directement au moyen de la télécommande.
1. Appuyez sur le bouton TEMPS (no5) sur la télécommande pour mettre la minuterie en
marche. Le cycle est de 1 heure, 2 heures, 4 heures avant que la minuterie ne s'arrête.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton TEMPS (no5) sur la télécommande pour régler la minuterie.
Les DÉL (no4) se trouvant sur le panneau de commandes indiquent le temps choisi.
Remarque : L'appareil s'arrêtera automatiquement lorsque le temps programmé au moyen de la
minuterie se sera écoulé. Lorsque vous choisissez d'effacer le temps inscrit sur la minuterie, le
filtre à air continuera à fonctionner jusqu'à ce qu'on l'arrête.
