course Setup prompts) and either, wear a POLAR®chest strap, or hold onto the
touch-sensitivehandrailgripswhile using thecourse.
Weight Loss Zone: Maintaining your heart rate between 55% and 70% of your
maximum aerobic heart rate, helps burn enough calories that, when
continued on a regular basis for 30 minutes or more, provides the greatest fat-
burningresults.

Important: During a course, your heart rate must be above 40 beats per minute
before the Smart Rate segment begins to blink.Your EFX has the heart rate
touch-sensitive electrodes on the handrail so you don’t need to wear a POLAR®
chest strap. However, you will need to hold onto the touch-sensitive grips. Note
that pressing Quick Start disables the Smart Rate display feature.
