1. DESCRIPTION
The V6333/DDigitalAudioMultiplexerisafull broadcast specification embedderofaudiodataintoHD
(High Definition)and SD(StandardDefinition)SDI datastreams. Twoversionsofthe V6333 areavailable,
one with4AES inputs(V6333Q/D), and anotherwith8AES inputs(V6333E/D). Although the V6333
processesHigh Definition (HD)video signals, it isfullycompatiblewithall otherproductsinthe range in
termsofformfactor, powersupplyrequirementsand controlinterface. The V6333 isa3U high cardthat can
be fitted intoaV1606 rack oraV6011 '1-Box', fromwhichit obtainsitspowerand control.
Thereisalsoan audiode-multiplexermodule, the V6334, whichisfullycompatiblewiththe V6333.
Apassiverearmoduleisrequired forall signalinterconnections. Thereare3typesofrearmodule; a4
unbalanced input (Singlemodulewidth), an 8unbalanced input (Doublemodulewidth), and one offering 8
balanced inputs(Singlemodulewidth).
The unit automaticallydetectsthe standardand format ofthe SDorHD input video and operates
accordingly.
The unit embedsaudioontoSDI video datastreamaccording toSMPTE272M(SD)and SMPTE299M
(HD). All ofthe availableaudiogroupsmaybe embedded. Unlikemultiplexersfromsomeother
manufacturersthe audiodoesnot need tobe synchronouswiththe video intowhichit istobe embedded.
Thismakesthe useofembedded audiowithinastudioarea muchsimplertoimplement. Howeverit must
be noted that someothermanufacturersde-multiplexerswill not accept embedded audioifit is
asynchronoustothe SDI clock.
Anotherfacilitytoassist the installation inarealenvironment isthe abilitytoresamplean asynchronous
AES input toan externalreference, generating synchronousmultiplexed audio. The externalreference
maybe anotherAES signal, orthe SDI video itself.
ThereareuptotwoSDI outputs, and one re-clocked versionsofthe SDI input. All ancillary datamaybe
optionallystripped off the SDI input signalpriortoembedding. The EDH isoptionallyregenerated on the
cardforSD.
The unit isfullycontrollableoverthe DART remotecontrolsystem.
