IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of
fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance is not intended for use,
cleaning, or maintenance by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory, or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they are closely supervised
and instructed concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their
safety. Children should be supervised to ensure
they do not play with the appliance.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
4. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of
children.
5. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or
knobs. Care must be taken, as burns can occur
from touching hot parts or from spilled, hot
liquid.
6. To protect against electric shock, do not place
cord, plug, or coffee maker in water or other
liquid.
7. Unplug from socket when the coffee maker is
not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts and before
cleaning the appliance.
8. Coffee maker must be operated on a flat
surface away from the edge of counter to
prevent accidental tipping.
9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged
supply cord, or after the appliance malfunctions
or has been damaged in any manner. Supply
cord replacement and repairs must be

conducted by the manufacturer, its service
agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard.
10. The use of accessory attachments not
recommended by the appliance manufacturer
may cause injuries.
11. Do not use outdoors.
12. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or
counter or touch hot surfaces, including stove.
13. To disconnect appliance, turn controls to OFF
() and then remove plug from wall socket.
14. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
burner, or in a heated oven.
15. Do not use appliance for other than intended
use.

or electric shock, do not remove the bottom
cover of the coffee maker. There are no
userserviceable parts inside. Repair should be
done by authorized service personnel only.

intended to be operated by means of an external

Other Consumer Safety Information
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and
other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels,
motels, and other residential type environments; bed and
breakfast-type environments.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected
to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping
over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved
extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the
extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of
the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension
cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped
over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-
wattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

How to Make Coffee / Tea

Burn Hazard.
To avoid hot coffee / tea overflowing from the filter basket:
• When using decaffeinated coffee / tea, do not exceed the coffee /
tea manufacturer’s recommended serving amount.
• Press firmly on lid to ensure the lid is completely closed.
• Do not fill coffee / tea grounds above the filter basket MAX fill line.
If filter basket overflow occurs, unplug coffeemaker and allow coffee /
tea in filter basket to cool before removing filter basket.

Plug in coffeemaker. Add water to
water reservoir. Do not fill water
above MAX fill line (25 oz./709 ml).
Place 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) coffee
for each cup in filter basket. Do
not fill coffee grounds above MAX
fill line in the filter basket.

How to Clean
Remove lid and move showerhead
to the side of the coffeemaker.
Unplug coffeemaker and allow
to cool.
Remove filter basket and discard
grounds.
Wash the inside of the
coffeemaker with hot, soapy
water. Rinse inside well. DO NOT
LET ANY SOAPY WATER GET
INTO THE WATER RESERVOIR.

hot, soapy water or on top rack
of dishwasher.
DISHWASHER-SAFE
DO NOT use the “SANI” setting
when washing in the dishwasher.

cord, plug, or coffeemaker in water or any liquid.

Cleaning With Vinegar
Pour 1 pint (2 cups/500 ml) vin-
egar into water reservoir.
Place cover. Turn ON. Turn
OFF after 1 minute and wait 30
minutes.
Turn ON and then turn
OFF when finished.
All coffeemakers should be cleaned at least once a month (once a
week for areas with hard water).

PROBABLE CAUSE

• Make sure that the filter basket is properly positioned and that the cover is turned so that the
tab fits into the pouring spout.

procedure to flush out the coffee grounds.
