2. Get started with your smartphone/ tablet
Let’s get started by following the below setup instructions.
1) Insert the 4 AA alkaline batteries in the Pronto as instructed below.
2) Place Pronto in line of sight with your other IR devices.
3) Download the Peel Smart Remote app from the App Store.

4) Once you’ve downloaded the app, open the Peel Smart Remote app
and tap ‘Start’. Swipe from right to left in case you want to explore the
Peel Smart Remote app first.
5) Select your country (1) and tap ‘Done’ (2) in case you want to edit. Enter
your zip code and tap the arrow (3). Select your TV Service Provider
(4a) or select ‘Setup Remotes Only’ (4b) in case you do not have a TV
Service Provider. Tap ‘Next’ (5).
6) When you are on the home screen of the Peel Smart Remote app press
the remote icon (1). In the next screen tap ‘Buy Pronto’ (2a) in case you
don’t have a Pronto yet. In case you have already a Pronto tap ‘Setup
Pronto’ (2b). In the next screen select the Pronto device you want to
connect to (3). Here you need to make sure that your Bluetooth is turned
on in your iPhone settings, otherwise you will not be able to connect with
the Pronto.

7) Select your TV brand (1a) or tap ‘Show more brands’ at the bottom of
the list (1b) in case you can find your brand in the shortlist and tap next
(2). Confirm in the next screen that your TV is turned off (3). Tap the
on/off button (4). In case your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was
already turned on) tap ‘Yes’ (5a). In case it didn’t turn on (or off in case
the TV was already turned on) tap ‘No’ (5b) and test the next buttons
until your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on).
8) In the next step you need to confirm if you have a cable or satellite box.
In case you don’t have a cable box or satellite box tap ‘I don’t have one’
(1a). In case you have one tap ‘Proceed’ (1b). Select your brand from
the list (2a) and tap ‘Next’ (3) or find it through the option ‘Show more
brands’ (2b) at the bottom of the list. In the next screen confirm first that
your cable box or satellite box is turned on by tapping ‘OK’ (4). Tap the
‘Channel up’ button (5). In case your TV channel changed tap ‘Yes’ (6a).
In case it didn’t change tap ‘No’ (6b) and test the next buttons until your
channel changes.

9) Once you’ve finalized the above the app will ask you to add more
devices. You can do so by tapping ‘Add more devices’ (1) (note: how to
do is, is explained in chapter 6 ‘Add other devices’). In case you don’t
want to set up any other devices tap ‘Done’ (2).
10) The app will ask you to configure your activities when you have different
devices set up. You can tap ‘Configure Now’ (1) or you can tap ‘Later’
(2) (note: how to do this is explained in chapter 14 ‘Select input for your
devices’).

3. Get started with Apple Watch
First, make sure you’ve set up your home entertainment devices in the Peel
Smart Remote app on your iPhone or iPad. Otherwise you will not be able to
control your devices from the Peel Smart Remote app on your Apple Watch.
1) Go to the homescreen of your iPhone and tap the ‘Watch’ icon (1) on
your iPhone. When you opened the ‘My Watch’ app make sure that you
are in the tab ‘My Watch’ (2).
2) Scroll down to your list till you see the Peel Remote app icon and tap on
it (1). Make sure in this screen that ‘Show App on Apple Watch’ is turned
on (2).

3) Press the handle on the right of your Apple Watch and tap the Peel
Smart Remote icon to open the app (1).
Once you’ve opened the app on your Watch you can chose to control
your electronic program guide (2a) or to control the remote (2b).
4) When you want to tune into a specific TV show you need to tap ‘Live TV’
(1) and then select the TV show that you want to tune into (2). The time
wil change into ‘Tuning to channel XX’ when the channel is being
changed to that show (3).
5) When you want to access the remotes of your different home
entertainment devices tap ‘Remote’ (1) and swipe (2) in order to select
the device that you want to control. Tap the device that you want to
control (3).
6) Once you’ve selected the device that you want to control you need to
swipe left or right in order to control the different control demands (e.g.
volume, channel, power, play, menu, etc. àthis depends on the device
that you select).

4. Tuning in
You have a few different options for tuning in to your favorite program.
a) You can tap a tile on the home screen (1). A green ‘Watch On TV’ button
will indicate the show is now airing. Just tap the button to tune-in (2).
b) You can also tune in from the individual show page by tapping the show
on the home screen (1), tap ‘More’ (2) and tap the watch on TV icon (3).
c) A third way is to select a program from the channel Guide on the remote
screen. Tap the TV icon and swipe from right to left (1). Tap the show (2)
you want to watch from the list.

d) You can use the remote itself to tune in, by tapping the channel up or
down buttons.
e) Finally you can use the remote itself by typing in a specific channel
number.
a. You don’t have a set-top box: Make sure that you selected your
TV device in the remote screen (1). Tap the dial icon (2) and enter
the channel number (3) and tap ‘close’ (4).
b. You have a set-top box: Make sure that you’ve selected your set-
top box device in the remote screen (1). Tap the dial icon (2) and
enter the channel number (3) and tap ‘close’ (4).

5. Set Reminders
For upcoming shows you can set reminders that will appear on your notification
screen when the show will air in about 5 minutes. You can do this in different
ways, which are as follow:
a) On the home screen tap the section ‘On later’ (1) and tap the show or
movie where you would like to set a reminder (2). Tap the ‘Remind me’
button (3). Now a reminder has been set (4) and a reminder will appear
on your iPhone when the show will air in about 5 minutes (5).
b) On the home screen tap a show (1) and tap ‘more’ (2). Scroll down the
next page till you see upcoming schedules and tap the clock icon (3).
When you have set the reminder the clock icon will appear red (4). A
reminder will appear on you iPhone when the show will air in about 5
minutes.

6. Add other devices
In case you want to add other devices besides your TV and set-top box such as
DVD player, Blu-ray player, streaming media players, soundbar, etc., please
follow below steps.
1) When you have the app on the homescreen tap the remote icon (1).
Swipe from right to left (2) in the top bar of the next screen till you see
the ‘+’ sign and tap it (3).
2) Tap the device type from the list that you would like to add (1) and tap
‘Next’ (2). In the next list select your brand (3a) or tap ‘Show more
brands’ at the end of the list (3b) to see the full list with available brands
and tap ‘Next’ (4). Tap the on/off button (5) in the next screen. In case
your TV turns on (or off in case the TV was already turned on) tap ‘Yes’
(5a). In case it didn’t turn on (or off in case the TV was already turned on)
tap ‘No’ (5b) and test the next buttons till your TV turns on (or off in case
the TV was already turned on).
!!! In case you can’t find your brand tap ‘Can’t find my Brand’ and fill in
your email, brand and model to have your device listed in the Peel
database and tap ‘Send’. You will be informed when your device has
been added to the database.
3) You can repeat the above steps for all your devices that you would like to
control through the Peel Smart Remote app.

7. Delete a device
1) Tap ‘Settings’ (1) and select the room (2) where you would like to delete
a device.
2) In the next screen tap the device that you would like to delete under the
section ‘Devices’ (1).
3) Tap in the next screen ‘Delete’ (1) and confirm that you want to delete
the device (2).

8. Switching between remotes
You can easily switch between different remotes, which is as follow:
When you want to control a specific remote control (e.g. DVD Player, Blu-Ray
Player, TV, etc.) you can do so by going to the remote screen by tapping the
remote icon (1) on the home screen and tap one of the devices (2) at the top
bar that you would like to control.
Note: if needed you will need to swipe from right to left in order to see your
other remotes (A).

9. Create a macro
When you want to execute a sequence of different remote control commands
you can create what we call a ‘macro’ through the Peel Smart Remote app. As
an example you want to play a Blu-Ray which means you would like to send out
the following command: power on Blu-Ray + play. In case you want to use this
functionality, follow the below steps.
Note: This macro is just an example, you can create different ones and create
as many as you want.
1) Tap the remote control icon on the homescreen (1). In the next screen
swipe from right to left on the top bar (2) till you see ‘Custom Remote’
and tap on it (3).
2) Tap the ‘+’ sign (1) to create a macro button and give your macro a
name (2) and tap ‘Pick a device’ (3). Select the device where the
commands signal needs to be sent to (4).

3) Than tap ‘Pick a function’ (1) and in the next screen scroll down till you
find the command function that you want to use (2). Afterwards you tap
the ‘+’ signal (3) and enter the amount of delay (4) that you want to use
before the new commands needs to be sent out and tap ‘Add’ to finalize
(5).
4) Now you can repeat the above step 2 and 3 (1) to create your macro till you
have created the correct command sequence (2). Once you’ve finalized, tap
‘Test’ (3). If everything has been executed correctly you can tap ‘Done’ (4).

10. Edit/delete/move a macro
!
1) Edit a macro
If you want to edit a macro just tap the pencil icon (1) and than you can edit
your macro by removing (2a) and/or adding (2b) a command.
2) Delete a macro
If you want to delete a macro just tap the pencil icon and tap the ‘Delete’ button
in the right top corner.
3) Move a macro
If you want to move a macro just tap and hold the macro that you want to move
(1) and drag it to another position (2).
