SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
DANGER! Ensure the RPM rating of the pad corresponds with the
manufacturer’s recommended speed of the tool. Over speeding
an accessory will cause injury.
DANGER! Disconnect this tool before performing any
maintenance, changing accessories or when not in use to prevent
accidental start up.
WARNING! Use the proper hose and fitting. To prevent
coupling from shaking loose during vibrations, add a hose
whip and connect coupling between the air supply and hose
whip to ensure reliability and prevent injury (see Installing Air
Compressor instructions)
WARNING! To prevent injury and mishap, keep tool away from
body during operation.
WARNING! To prevent slippage and mishap, never use cloth
backed sanding discs. Use paper sanding discs and the
recommended adhesive. Follow the Adhesive manufacture’s
directions exactly as specified.
NOTICE! Tools of this class operate on a wide range of air
pressures. It is recommended that the air pressure of this tool,
measure 90 PSI at the tool without load. Higher pressure will
shorten the tool’s life due to wear and tear.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
AIR TOOL PRECAUTIONS
1. Extended exposure to air tool noise may cause hearing loss.
Ear protection gear can reduce or eliminate the noise level.
Add a muffling device to the air tool’s exhaust if possible.
2. Inspect the tool’s airline for cracks, fraying or other faults
before each use. Discontinue use if the airline is damaged
or hissing is heard from the airline or connectors, while
operating the tool. Replace the defective component/airline.

3. Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass
over the unprotected airline. Position the airline away from
high traffic areas, in a reinforced conduit or place planks on
both sides of the airline to create a protective trench.
4. Prevent damage to the airline by observing the following:
a. Never carry the tool by the airline.
b. Keep the airline behind the tool and out of the tool’s
work path.
c. Keep the airline away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts.
d. Do not wrap the airline around the tool as sharp edges
may pierce or crack the airline. Coil the airline when
storing.
5. A damaged or disconnected airline under pressure may
whip around and inflict personal injury or damage the work
area. Secure the compressor’s airline to a fixed or permanent
structure with clamps or cable ties.
6. Install an in-line shutoff valve or regulator to allow immediate
control over the air supply in an emergency, even if a hose
is ruptured.
7. Check the manufacturer’s maximum pressure rating for air
tools and accessories. Compressor outlet pressure must
be regulated so as to never exceed the maximum pressure
rating of the tool.

(such as tingling, numbness, and white or blue fingers), seek
medical attention as soon as possible.
3. Wear suitable gloves to reduce the effects of vibration.

OPERATION
WARNING! To prevent possible
injury and damage to your new tool,
only use paper sanding discs and
follow adhesive manufacturer’s
directions explicitly.
NOTICE! Air tool consumption
ratings CFM, are based upon a
25% duty cycle. If you require
continuous duty, a larger compressor
will be required.
If you are using this tool for the first
time, follow these steps carefully:
INSTALL AIR CONNECTOR
Prepare a standard 1/4 in. NPT male
air connector for use with your tool.
1. Wrap the external threads of the male connector with
sealant tape.
a. Wrap tape in a clockwise direction so it will not unravel.
b. Do not tape all the threads. Leave several leading
threads unwrapped for easier alignment.
2. Screw the connector into the tool’s air inlet and tighten with
a wrench until snug.
3. Run compressor at a low volume and check the connection
for air leaks. Do not use the tool until all air leaks are repaired
or the faulty component is replaced.

2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components.
3. Follow instructions for changing accessories.
4. Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at
all times.
5. Inspect the tool fittings, alignment and hoses and power
supply cord periodically. Have damaged or worn components
repaired or replaced by an authorized technician.
6. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Only
use accessories intended for use with this tool. Replace
damaged parts immediately.
7. Maintain the tool’s label and nameplate. These carry

LUBRICATION
NOTICE! Never use a penetrating oil to lubricate an air tool.
Penetrating oil may act as a solvent that will break down the
grease and cause the tool to seize up.
Only use air tool oil to lubricate the tool. Other lubricants may
not be suitable and could damage the tool or cause a malfunction
during use.
1. All air tools are packed in grease to prevent corrosion of
internal parts during shipping and storage. To clean this out,
add a generous amount of air tool oil in the air inlet, and then
run the tool under no load until exhaust is clear.
2. Manually add a drop or two of air tool oil into the tool’s
male connector before each use, and after every hour of
continuous use. Without lubrication, the tool will not work
properly and parts will wear prematurely.
3. Avoid adding too much air tool oil as this can cause
premature power loss and eventual tool failure. The tool will
need to be taken apart by a qualified technician and cleaned
of excess oil.
4. In the event that it becomes necessary to store the tool for
an extended period of time (overnight, weekend, etc.), it
should receive a generous amount of lubrication at that time.
The tool should be run for approximately 30 seconds to
ensure oil has been evenly distributed throughout the tool.
The tool should be stored in a clean and dry environment.
