INSTRUCTIONS
Before use
First-time use of the grill will cause a small amount of carbonization. This is a perfectly normal
phenomenon.
Place the appliance on a clean, at surface. It can be positioned in three different ways.
Closed position
With the upper housing placed on the base, this position should be used when the grill is
switched off. It is also the position used when starting up the grill, and to preheat it.

10
EN
Open position
Lift the upper housing to an angle of 100 degrees. To adjust the grill to this position, lift the
handgrip until you can feel the upper housing locking into this position. Release your hands
and keep the upper housing in this position until you close it.
XL mode - at position
The upper and lower grill plates are both in a horizontal position, arranged to form an extra
large cooking area.
To adjust the grill to this position, put one hand on the handgrip and gently push it back while
simultaneously pressing the spring button with your other hand. Push the handgrip back until
the upper grill plate is totally level. If the grill is in an open position and you wish to close it,
gently pull the handle toward yourself until the upper housing is level.

11
EN
Remove the oil recipient
Make sure the oil recipient is fully inserted at the rear of the grill base before use. Oil can ow
from the grill plate into the recipient via the oil drains.
When the grill is completely cooled down, the oil recipient can be removed and cleaned
manually or in the dishwasher.
Specic operation steps
1. Plug in the power supply and touch the button. The grill will go into stand-by mode and
the message “- - - -“ is shown on the LCD display.
2. In order to select the desired function, the grill must be in a closed position.
3. Rotate the function knob to select the desired function and press to preheat. If the
food you want to prepare is frozen, place it on the grill, close the grill, select the button
and press to defrost.
4. While preheating, you can still change between the programs for pork, steak or sh via the
function knob. Select the desired doneness (rare, medium or well-done) using the done-
ness selector. The Preheat indicator will blink while preheating, and light up permanently
as soon as preheating is completed.
5. Open the grill when it is fully preheated and put the food on the grill plate. Then close the
upper housing and start cooking. The Cooking Indicator Light will switch on.
6. When the food has reached the desired doneness, open the upper housing and remove
the food.
7. When the food is cooked, switch off the appliance using the button. If you continue
cooking other foods, repeat steps 2 until 6.
Please note:
• If the grill is switched on for a long time, a built-in safety system will automatically shut it
down.
• The grill can automatically identify a food’s thickness and adjust cooking time and tempera-
ture accordingly. During cooking, the display light will show the food’s doneness changing
from rare to medium to well-done.
• While there is food being cooked on the grill, it is best not to open it.
• When preparing cylinder-shaped foods higher than 50 mm, close the upper housing care-
fully so that the food remains in place and is not pushed off the grill.

12
EN
• When the lid is open, the grill can only be operated using DIY function.
• During preheating, leave the grill unopened. Opening the appliance will have it turn to DIY
function after 10 seconds.
