Introduction
The DSP2.8X is a digital audio processor that oers a huge range of high precision
sengs and conguraons to improve the performance of your audio system.
It has a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that allows equalizaons, crossover lters,
alignment, gain control, phase inversion, limiter, digital roung of inputs and
outputs, among other treatments. Its new exclusive sequencer feature makes
it possible to congure the programmed acvaon and shutdown of up to 3
products from the remote acvaon connecons (REM).
Before installing
Please read this manual carefully.
• All product connecons must be made with the product turned OFF.
• Use gauges recommended in this manual to avoid the overheang of the
cables to obtain maximum power.
• Keep the cables as short as possible to increase sound delity and avoid
potenal power losses.
• Route the installaon cables as far away as possible from the original vehicle
wiring as it may cause interference and noise in your audio system.
• Perform the installaon in a rm, venlated and dry place.
• Installaon must be done by a qualied professional.

The DSP2.8X has 2 inputs and 8 independent outputs that allow adjustments
to the audio individually for each output through several funcons and features
integrated into the processor:
• Graphic input equalizer (15 bands and equalizaon presets)
• Parametric input equalizer (frequency, gain, Q factor)
• Parametric equalizer per output (frequency, gain, Q factor)

1. SEQUENCER: It allows sequenal acvaon of other products through the remote
acvaon (REM) connecon. Use a cable of at least AWG 20.
2. REM IN: Allows automac acvaon of the amplier when turning on the radio/
player. Connect to the remote output of the radio/player mininum of AWG 20.
3. NEGATIVE POWER CONNECTOR (GND): Connect to the negave terminal of the
baery using a cable minimum of AWG 13.
4. POSITIVE POWER CONNECTOR (+BAT): Connect to the posive terminal of the
baery using a cable minimum of AWG 13. It is recommended to use a fuse for
external protecon of 1A.
5. DISPLAY LCD: It allows visualizaon and interacon with the processor system.
6. ENCODER: Rotary control that allows interacon with the processor system
funcons and resources:
• ENTER funcon: Short press on the encoder.
• RETURN funcon: Long press on the encoder.

7. HOTKEYS: Shortcut keys for selecng output channels:
• Short press: Selects the channel for applying the parameters.
• Long press: Allows you to turn the selected output channel on or o.
HOTKEY on blue: output channel on.
HOTKEY lit red: output channel o.
8. LED LIMITER: The LEDs will light when the “LIMITER” of the channel in queson is
acng, they are also used as indicators of output saturaon.
9. LED MAX: The LEDs will light indicang that the respecve input signal has
reached the maximum level allowed.
10. AUDIO INPUT (INPUT): Conectores do po RCA com atuação independentes

Navigation keys
Navigaon and control of the DSP2.8X are made via the ENCODER knob and the
HOTKEYS hotkeys.

• Graphic Input Equalizer
The input graphic equalizer has 15 bands, allowing a variaon of ± 12 dB per
band, with a pitch of 0.1 dB, with frequencies equally spaced in 2/3 octave, in
the range of 25 to 16 kHz in accordance with
ISO requirements . The graphic equalizer
acts on the two inputs simultaneously.
• Parametric Input/Output Equalizer
The parametric equalizer allows you to choose a gain / aenuaon at a specic
frequency, as well as the bandwidth of that equalizer by means of the Q factor,
the smaller the Q the greater the width of that equalizaon band, aecng to a
greater extent the neighboring frequencies .
The DSP2.8X has 9 parametric equalizers distributed as follows, 1 for the inputs
and 8 for the outputs (1 for output).
• Input and Output Routing
The purpose of the roung opon allows you select the audio source A, B or A
+ B (sum) for each output. Turning the ENCODER dial moves the audio source
to the selected route. To select another
channel, quickly press the corresponding
HOTKEY.

In the “CROSSOVER” menu, each short press on the ENCODER changes the parameter
being edited, between output, lter type, frequency and aenuaon/topology.
To select another output channel for eding, short press the HOTKEY key on the
corresponding output.

• Crossover
This funcon allows precision denion of the cuto frequencies for the high-
pass lter and the low-pass lter, as well as lter aenuaons and topology
individually by output. The available lters and aenuaons are:

This funcon allows for the digital alignment of transducers (speakers) via the
me correcon performed by the DSP, and ensures that the sound from all
the speakers arrives at the listener with improved audio delity while avoiding

1. Idenfy the coil farthest from the
listener or the front panel of the box.
This coil will be used as a reference;
2. Measure the distance from the other coils to
the reference coil. These are the distances used in
conguring the delay of each output channel.

• Phase
This funcon is used for resolving problems caused by canceling frequencies.
From this screen you can reverse the phase of all outputs individually. Turning

To protect your ampliers and speakers, the DSP2.8X has a limiter with an integrated
“Dynamic Aack-Release” system for each of the 4 outputs. Use this funcon to
aenuate and prevent damage to the system caused by signal peaks.
The Threshold (-24 to 0dB) seng denes a threshold for the Limiter’s acvaon:
the Limiter kicks in when this threshold is exceeded.
The Aack parameter (0.1 to 100 ms) denes how fast the Limiter reacts / acts when
the signal exceeds the Threshold.
The Release parameter (1 to 1600 ms) controls the recovery me elapsed between
the me the signal falls below the Threshold and deacvaon of the Limiter.

This menu allows you to adjust the gains of the
individual outputs within a range of -45 to +15 dB, as
well as to increase the master volume from 0 to 100%.

• Mute
The outputs can be switched individually on and o quickly by holding down the
HOTKEY key that corresponds to the output. The LED color indicates the status
of the output.
In the “MUTE” screen, you can sll
turn o and on all the output channels
simultaneously using the ENCODER go to
the output eld and select “ALL-ENTER”
or “ALL-ENTER ON”. Then fast touch on
ENCODER. You can also turn the input
graphic equalizer on or o.

PRESETS ” in the main menu, in this way it is possible to congure the frequency
cut of each output more quickly:

• Copy Channel
This funcon allows you to copy all audio sengs from one output channel to
another. The copied funcons are: parametric output equalizer, roung, crossover,
alignment, phase inversion, limiter, gain and mute.
I. Select an SOURCE output channel using the
HOTKEY hotkeys or by turning the ENCODER,
fasten ENCODER;
II. Select a DESTINATION output channel
using the HOTKEY shortcut keys or by turning
the ENCODER, fasten ENCODER;
III. A conrmaon message will appear. If
conrmed, as output channels from ORIGIN
to the DESTINATION output channel,
overwring as the DESTINATION output
channel.
• Save / Load / Factory Reset
The DSP2.8X has four memory slots available for saving personalized sengs,
accessed via the “SAVE” funcon. Saved sengs can be named with tles up
to 15-characters long. Besides the memory space available to the user, there
is autosave, where all parameters and sengs are saved in a separate working

the “LOAD” funcon. This funcon also
allows the factory presents to be loaded
via the “DEFAULT” memory.

memory. Or rather, if there is a drop in
power or the product is turned o during
conguraon, the sengs will not be lost.
This funcon cannot be disabled.
If you want to restore all of the DSP2.8X factory sengs, simultaneously hold down the
HOTKEY shortcut keys for outputs 1, 2 and 3 while turning on the device.
This procedure will erase all internal sengs and saves.

Tone Generator: Generate a specic frequency with gain control.
Each press on the ENCODER parameter is edited between frequency, gain and ON/
OFF. With the generator on it is sll possible to change the frequency and gain in real
me, and even modify other audio parameters of the processor.
Frequency Sweep: Allows you to perform a frequency scan, with the opon of
selecng the inial and nal frequency, gain, scanning speed and ON/OFF.
When acvang the sweep enters a connuous cycle, to close it simply press any
of the HOTKEYS or move the ENCODER.

• Security
This funcon locks the ability to edit sengs, including blocking the save
and load sengs. Via the “SECURITY” menu you can lock or unlock (“LOCK/
UNLOCK”) and change the password (“CHANGE PASSWORD”).
The funcon on/o the output channels is not blocked.

• Tools
The audio processor has tools to aid in the regulaon of your sound system,
TONE GENERATOR, FREQUENCY SWEEP and PINK NOISE GENERATOR. These
tools are signal sources for all outputs, that is, during their use as inputs.
• Screensaver
The audio processor has a screensaver
funcon, which allows the user to dene a
15-character scrolling text.
Pink Noise: Allows to generate a signal that maintains the same magnitude for
the enre frequency range, generally used to calibrate audio systems in order to
obtain at response and due alignment between the tracks.
Each press on the ENCODER parameter in eding is changed between gain and
ON/OFF. With the pink noise on it is sll possible to change the gain of noise in
real me, and even modify other audio parameters of the processor.

• Sequencer
This feature allows you to acvate several products sequenally.
The sequencer has three outputs (S1, S2 and S3) that are acvated and deacvated
sequenally according to the input signal of the remote input (REM IN).
The acvaon interval between each output
can be congured from 0s to 4s.
When the congured me is 0s, the three
outputs will be enabled and disabled at the
same me, aer 3s of the absence of the
remote signal at the input (REM IN).
To connect the remote signals, use cables of
at least 20 AWG.
It is possible to turn ON/OFF each
sequencer output independently.
When the output is turned o, it will not
trigger when the processor is turned on
again.

Warranty Term
PRV Audio products are guaranteed for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original
purchase against any manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship under normal use.
This warranty protects only the original purchaser of PRV Audio products purchased from an
Authorized PRV Audio Dealer. This warranty is non-transferable.
When a product is sent to PRV Audio for warranty claims, it is assumed that the original purchaser
has read and fully understands the PRV Audio warranty policy. In no event shall PRV Audio be
liable for incidental or consequenal damages including, without limitaon: injury to persons,
property or loss of potenal income.
Product must be repacked in original packaging or equivalent, with padding to avoid damages
during transportaon. The purchaser is responsible for expenses to return the product to PRV
Audio Brazil for a Warranty Claim. Please DO NOT return your amplier to a retailer, all warranty
claims must be sent to PRV Audio. Upon receipt of the item, PRV Audio will nofy claimant within
THREE (3) business days. At this me, PRV will let claimant know: (a) if the item qualies for
a warranty claim; (b) the expected turn-around me to receive the item back; (c) the proper
procedure to follow to ensure minimal delays. If an item does not qualify for warranty, then
claimant is responsible for ALL freight, shipping, and repair costs. The purchaser may decide if he/
she wishes to repair the amplier for a fee.

Brazil is NOT responsible for any return without an authorized number. If you have any quesons
concerning what voids a warranty, please do not hesitate to ask.

-Blown outputs or power supplies in ampliers from overdriving or under voltage due to ignoring

-Using an aluminum wire and/or any other wire that is not recommended in the owner’s manual
on a high-current amplier
-We will not honor any warranty claim(s)on ampliers purchased from internet sellers.
-Excessive vibraon damage in ampliers due to improper installaon
-Installaon and removal costs of the products associated with obtaining a warranty claim
-Products with the serial number and/or warranty seal removed or damaged
Amplier must NEVER operate with the clipping LED ON !! Abuse may cause damage to amplier
or speakers.
For any products not qualied for warranty protecon, PRV can sll repair it for a cost determined
