
1. Loosen screw on tamper-resistant sliding cover on
side of alarm. Remove sliding cover from alarm.
2. Insert metal pin at end of spiral connecting cord
coming out of switch bar into opening marked “Switch
Bar Jack” inside tamper-resistant cavity. Push “PULL”
tab completely inside cavity so sliding cover can be
replaced. CAUTION: Always remove switch bar
connecting pin from the alarm by pulling straight
up on the white “PULL” tab. DO NOT attempt to
remove the pin any other way or you may damage
pin and void warranty.
3. Replace the sliding tamper-resistant cover and tighten
screw to prevent tampering.
4. Open battery cover on back of alarm by removing
tamper-resistant screw. The battery cover will stay in
place. Install the three “AAA” batteries per the “+/-”
diagram on the bottom of the battery holder. The alarm
will beep twice to indicate batteries have been installed
properly. Close battery cover and tighten screw with
screwdriver included.
5. Remove the paper covering from the top of the Velcro®
piece attached to the bottom of the alarm. Slide the
alarm into the alarm holder carefully threading the
spiral pad cord through the slot opening at the bottom
of the holder. Press down on the top of the alarm while
pulling the cord through the opening to secure the
Velcro®piece at the bottom of the alarm to the Velcro®
piece at the bottom of the holder. The alarm is now
securely affixed to the holder.
When it is necessary to remove the alarm from the
holder simply pull up on the alarm to separate the
Velcro®pieces. Remove the connecting wire by sliding
it through the slot at the bottom of the holder to
completely remove alarm from holder.
6. Test system by pressing down on the rounded top
of switch bar or by sitting on wheelchair seat. The
alarm will sound. To stop alarm sound press the
“Test/Reset” button on the front of alarm three times
within two seconds. The alarm will stop sounding and
automatically reset.
7. The complete system is now in place. See photo
below.
8. Turn wheelchair right side up and carefully assist
resident onto wheelchair seat. If using a seat cushion
there should not be any resident discomfort when
seated. If not using a seat cushion, the top of the
switch bar may cause discomfort to the resident’s
buttocks depending on the resident’s weight. The
discomfort can be eliminated by either using a seat
cushion or lowering the switch bar.
9. The Under The Seat Fall Monitoring System will
allow for normal movement. However, if user gets
off wheelchair seat the alarm will sound to alert staff.
When user gets back on wheelchair seat the alarm will
automatically reset for the next unwanted exit attempt.
Please note: For resident safety, the alarm does
not have an “on/off” switch. Staff members do not
need to remember to turn the alarm “on” as the
alarm has an automatic reset feature.

warranty or responsibility expressed or implied.
IV. SWITCH BAR AND ALARM REMOVAL FROM
WHEELCHAIR
1. Remove alarm from holder by pulling up on alarm and
sliding connecting wire out of slot at bottom of holder.
Remove holder from wheelchair frame.
2. Loosen screw on sliding tamper-resistant cover of
alarm and slide cover off alarm.
3. Remove pin from alarm by pulling straight up on
“PULL” tab. Do not remove pin any other way or you
may damage pin and void warranty. Replace sliding
tamper-resistant cover and tighten screw. Insert alarm
back into holder for storage.
4. Remove all four wing nuts and screws from mounting
brackets affixed to both sides of metal frame under the
wheelchair seat.
5. Grasp switch bar with one hand and one of the
mounting brackets with your other hand. Carefully
compress switch bar and pull mounting bracket away
from switch bar to separate the two pieces. Remove
other end of switch bar from opposite bracket to
completely remove switch bar from wheelchair.
6. Remove brackets from metal bars on both sides of
wheelchair. Insert four screws back into brackets and
affix wing nuts to screws for storage.
WARNING!
There is no guarantee the user will be protected against
all injuries as a result of a fall. Please properly position
the alarm so that it is out of sight and reach of resident
to prevent resident from disabling the alarm to provide
maximum protection against serious injuries as a result
of a fall.
CAUTION!
You must remove switch bar and alarm prior to folding
wheelchair for storage. You must also remove switch
bar and alarm prior to cleaning wheelchair or using
wheelchair when showering resident. Failure to do so will
damage system and void warranty.
