Usethisbuttontoturntheunit onandoff.Iftheunit isnotbeingusedforaprolongedperiodoftime,pleasealso
removetheACplugfromthepowersocket.
2. CASSETTE HOLDER
Insertyourcassetteintoeitherofthesetwoholders.Theholdersmaybeopenedbypressingthecorresponding
[STOP/EJECT]button(13).PleasenotethatbothdeckscanbeusedforplaybackbutonlydeckBcanbeusedfor
recording/dubbing.
3. DISPLAY
Thedisplaywill helpyoukeeptrackofaudiolevelsandthefeatureswhichhavebeenengaged.
* PEAKLEVELINDICATOR –Themetersindicatetheaudiolevelduring recordingandplayback.
* REC –lightswhendeckBisrecordingorinrecord-pausemode

4. TAPECOUNTERAND[RESET]BUTTON
Thetapecounterindicatesthetapeposition whenplayingorrecordingtapes(deckBonly).Toresetthecounter,press
the[RESET]button.
5. RECLEVEL KNOB
Usethisknob toadjusttherecordinglevelwhenrecordingexternalsourcestodeckB.
6. [PLAY Cr02]BUTTON
Thisfeatureshouldbesetdependingonthekindoftapeyouareplaying.Whenusingnormaltapes,thisfeatureshould
beturnedoff (“PLAYCr02”notlit onthedisplay).Whenusing Cr02 tapes,thesefeaturesshouldbeturnedon(“PLAY
Cr02”islit on thedisplay).
7. [DUBBING]BUTTON
Press thisbuttonifyou wouldliketodubatapefromdeckAtoatapeindeckB(“DUBBING”will lighton the
display).
8. [HISPEEDDUBBING]BUTTON
Press thisbuttontoenablehigh-speeddubbing (“HIGHSPEED”will lightonthedisplay).Pressagaintodisable
high-speeddubbing.
9. RECCr02 BUTTON
TurnthisfeatureonwhenrecordingtoaCr02 tapeondeckB(“RECCr02”islit on thedisplay).
10. [PLAY]
Press toplaythetapeon thecorrespondingdeck.
11. [REWIND]
Press torewindthetapeonthecorrespondingdeck.
12. [FASTFORWARD]
Press tofastforwardthetapeonthecorrespondingdeck.
13. [STOP/EJECT]
Press tostopthetapeonthecorrespondingdeck.Whenstopped,press againtoopenthecassetteholder.

1. POWERCORD
Plugthiscordintoapowersocketbeforepoweringon
theunit.Ifnotusingtheunit forprolongedperiodsof
time,pleaseremembertoturnit offandremovethe
cordfromthesocket.
2. USBPORT
UsetheincludedUSBcabletoconnectthisporttoan
availableUSBporton yourcomputerwhen
transferringtapes.
3. GAINKNOB
Thisknobcanbeusedtoadjusttheaudiosignalfrom
theunit toyourcomputer.Ifyou experience distortion
and clippingwhenrecordingtoyourcomputer,we
recommendturningdowntheGain.If theaudiolevel
fromtheunit isextremelylowwhenrecordingtoyour
computer, werecommendturninguptheGain.
4.RECINPUT
ConnectastereoRCAcablefromanexternalsource to
thisinput.Pleasenotethatrecordinganddubbingonly
worksondeckB.
5.PLAYOUTPUT
ThisisthecombinedaudiooutputfromdeckAand
deckB.ConnectastereoRCAcablefromthisoutput
totheLineorAuxiliaryinputofahomestereoreceiver
system.
PLAYBACKINSTRUCTIONS
PLAYINGBACKARECORDEDTAPE:
1. Press the[STOP/EJECT]buttontoopenthe
cassetteholder.
2. Insertthetapeandclosetheholder.If playinga
Cr02 tape, press theCr02 button.
3. If connectedtoanamplifiersystem,makesurethe
amplifieristurnedonandadjustitsvolumetoa
suitablelisteninglevel.
4. Press the[PLAY]buttontoplaythetape.
Pleasenote:If you aretransferringtapestoyour
computer, it ispossibletohearyourtapesthroughyour
computer’ssoundcardorbuilt-inspeakerswhile
transferring.
FASTFORWARDINGANDREWINDING:
1. Whilethedeckisstopped,press the[FAST
FORWARD]or[REWIND]button.
2. Whenthetapereachesthedesiredlocation,press
[STOP/EJECT].
3. Press the[PLAY]button toplaythetapefromthis
location.
PAUSING:
1. Press the[PAUSE]buttontopausethetape.
2. Press [PAUSE]againtoreleaseandresume
playback.
STOPPINGAND EJECTING:
1. Press the[STOP/EJECT]buttonwhilethetapeis
playingtostopplayback.
2. Press [STOP/EJECT]againtoejectthetape.

PleaseusedeckBforrecordingexternalsourcesor
dubbing tapes.
RECORDINGEXTERNALSOURCETOTAPE:
1. Press [STOP/EJECT]ondeckBtoopenthecassette
holder.
2. Insertablanktapeandclosethecassetteholder.
3. If recordingtoaCr02 tape,pressthe[RECCr02]
button.
4. Press the[PAUSE]buttonandthenpress
[RECORD].
5. Playyourexternalsource andcheckthelevelson
thedisplay.UsetheRECLEVELknobtoadjustthe
leveloftheincomingaudiosignal.
6. Press the[PAUSE]buttontobeginrecordingwhen
youareready.
Tip: TheRECLEVELknobcanbeusedtomake
adjustmentstotheloudness oftheincomingsignal.If
theknobisinthecenterposition,theincomingsignal
will berecordedatitsoriginalvolume.Ideally,the
recordingsignalshouldcomeclosebutneverhitredin
thelevelindicatoron thedisplay.If thesignalisinthe
red,thenturndowntheRECLEVELknobuntilit no
longerreachesthered.If thesignalistoolowandnot
closetothered, turnuptheRECLEVELknob.
DUBBINGOPERATION:
1. InsertthetapeforplaybackindeckA.
2. InsertthetapeyouwishtorecordtoindeckB.
3. Press the[DUBBING]button. “Dubbing”will be
illuminatedonthedisplay.
4. Selectthedubbingspeedwiththe[HISPDUB]
button. Ifthe “HISPDUB”indicatoris
illuminatedonthedisplay,you will bedubbing in
high-speedmode.Iftheindicatorisnotlit,thenyou
will berecordinginnormal-speedmode.
5. Press the[PAUSE]buttonondeckA,followedby
the[PLAY]button tocuethetape.
6. Press the[RECORD]buttonondeckB.
7. Press the[PAUSE]buttonondeckAtoreleasepause
mode.Theunit willautomaticallystartthedubbing
operation.
8. Tostopdubbing,press the[STOP/EJECT]buttonof
deckB.
Pleasenote: Donotchangedubbingspeedwhile
dubbingisinprogress.
