EN MAKING BREAD
1. Place the bread pan into the bread pan housing and turn it clockwise as shown by
the lock symbol until it clicks into place.
2. Push the kneading paddle onto the drive shaft in the bottom of the bread pan until
it is rmly secured into place.
3. Place the ingredients in the bread pan in the order specied in the recipe.
Note:
■ Usually, water or liquid substances are placed in the bread pan rst, then the sugar,
salt and our. Always add the yeast or baking powder last.
■ For heavier doughs using rye or whole wheat our, reverse the ingredient order. Put
the yeast in rst, followed by the our, sugar and lastly salt. Then add the liquids to
ensure even kneading.
4. Poke your nger into the our to make a small indentation and place the yeast in it.
Make sure the yeast does not come into contact with the salt or liquid ingredients.
5. Close the cover gently and plug the power cord into the wall socket. A beep will
sound and 3:00 appears on the screen. The default settings of program 1, bread
size 2.0 lb and medium browning level will also display.
6. Press the button repeatedly to choose a program.
7. Press the button repeatedly to choose the crust browning level.
8. Press the button repeatedly to select the bread size (1.5 lb or 2.0 lb).
9. If required, press the / buttons to set the delay time. Press and hold /
buttons to quickly scroll through the time.
10. Press the button to start the program.
11. For programs 1. , 2. , 3. , 5. ,
9. , 11. a long beep will sound to prompt you to open the
cover and add ingredients.
Note: It is normal for steam to escape through the vents when baking.
12. At the end of cooking, you will hear 10 beeps. The keep bread WARM program will
automatically run for 60 minutes unless you press and hold the button for about
3-5 seconds to stop the appliance. You can now remove the bread.
13. Open the lid. Firmly grasp the handle of the bread pan using oven gloves. Turn the
bread pan counterclockwise (as shown by the unlock symbol on the bread pan
housing) and lift it out of the appliance.
14. Use a non-stick spatula to gently loosen the sides of the bread from the bread pan.
Warning: The pan and bread can be very hot! Always handle carefully and use oven
gloves.
15. Turn the bread pan upside down on a clean surface and shake it gently until the
bread comes out.
16. Place the bread on a wire rack and allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before
cutting it into slices.
17. When the bread maker is not in use, unplug the power cord.
Note: Before cutting the bread, check whether the kneading paddle is embedded in
the base of the bread and if necessary, remove with the hook. Never use your hands to
extract the kneading paddle.
