QL-K2001
Ford Mustang 1987-1993
(Does not fit Mustang Convertible)
Remove Original Kick Panel
• Remove threshold plate by removing attachment screws.
• Remove plastic fasteners at lower/forward section of panel.
• Pull panel outward from bulkhead.
• Tilt bottom front edge upward, slide panel rearward to clear hood latch handle, and pull kick panel out of
vehicle.
NOTE: Always check the fit of the Q-forms into the vehicle before any cutting or modifications are done.
Install Speakers
• Cut the speaker holes into the Q-Forms before installing them into the vehicle.
• Install the speakers into the Q-Forms after they have been installed into the vehicle.
• Install speaker wiring and crossover network as per manufacturer’s instructions.
• Using a hole saw of correct size, position pilot drill on dimple at center of speaker mounting surface.
A die grinder or keyhole saw may also be used.
• Lay the supplied polyfill in and around the Q-forms cavity behind the speakers.
• Cut speaker mounting holes taking care as saw exits rear of panel.
• Secure speakers into locations by driving screws through speaker bezel
and into mounting surface.
Be careful to center speakers in mounting surface to allow clearance for
grill shell.
• Install tweeters as per manufacturer’s instructions.
Install New Q-Forms Kick Panels (Always predrill all mounting screw locations)
• Lay Q-forms kick panel in approximate location and connect speaker
wiring.
• Lay panel into permanent position previously held by original kick
panel. Be sure front edge of panel fits tightly against rubber welt.
• Reinstall threshold plate using original screws. It may be helpful to
hold panel tightly against rubber welt while tightening front screw.
• Install screw through hole at front upper edge of panel and drive
into inner bulkhead sheet metal. It may be helpful to predrill screw
pilot hole if installed without power tools.
• Install grill shells by pressing snugly into woofer cavity.

6.5" Woofer Mounting Instructions
Note: Always check the fit of the Q-Forms panel in the vehicle BEFORE any cutting or modifications are done!
Continued on other side:
Please use the model specific instructions provided for the removal of the
factory panels and the Q-Forms mounting instructions. These instructions
provide information on properly locating the woofer in the Q-Forms
kickpanel. Improperly cut holes are not the responsibility of Q-Logic and
are not covered under warranty.
Note: The “C-series” kickpanels do not include speaker grills. Use the
speaker grills supplied with your speakers. The “u-channel” provided in the
hardware kit will not be used.
The “C-series” of kickpanels are designed to accommodate most 6.5”
speakers on the market today. Models with tweeter below the woofer area
will have approximately 7” of mounting surface. On models where the
tweeter is raised above the woofer mounting surface there may be slightly
less. Please refer to the appropriate section below to properly locate and
cut the woofer hole. Refer to the pictures provided for additional detail.
When using the speaker mounting template provided with your speakers
make sure that the outside diameter of the template is the same as the
speaker grill. If it is not, first use the speaker grill to determine mounting
location then use the template to mark the cutout.
Models with the tweeter BELOW woofer level;
Place the speaker grill or the speaker mounting template on the woofer
mounting surface. Center the grill in the area. If the grill happens to be
larger than the mounting area you may choose to position the grill so that
the grill is close to flush at the top edge and the edge nearest the door.

Use template to mark woofer cutout:
Position grill and mark mounting holes
Continued from other side:
This will position any area of the grill that hangs over to the
back bottom edge of the woofer surface where it will not be
visible when installed. With the grill on the mounting
surface, mark the screw locations for the woofer. Remove
the grill and align the screw locations with the the mount-
ing template to mark to cutout location. Use a ruler and
pencil to mark the center point of the cutout by lining up
the mounting holes opposite one another.
Models with the tweeter ABOVE the woofer level;
Place the speaker grill or the speaker mounting template
on the woofer mounting surface. The speaker grill will
most likely not fit completely against the tweeter area.
This will shift the center point for the woofer which may
result the grill hanging over the back and bottom edges of
the woofer area. You may chose to check how the grill will
look in the vehicle but it is seldom seen when the installa-
tion is complete. With the grill on the mounting surface,
mark the screw locations for the woofer. Remove the grill
and align the screw locations with the the mounting tem-
plate to mark to cutout location. Use a ruler and pencil to
mark the center point of the cutout by lining up the mount-
ing holes opposite one another.
Mark Center location using ruler:
Tweeter area may offset woofer location:
