The
performance
ofan
FM
tunerdependsuponthe
quality
andstrengthofthe
signalsupplied
via
theaerial.Optimum
signalto
noise
ratio
(lowest
hiss)willbe
achieved
with
anaerialinputsignal
ofbetween
1mVand
100
mV,butnotin
excess
of500mV.
Agood
aerialwillalways
give
the
best
results
and
your
localaerial
specialistor
Quad
dealer
will
beabletoadvise
on
which
aerial
system
is
bestfor
your
area.

casesacorrectlyorientated
external
multi-elementarraywill
prove
most
suitable.

tuneris
designed
to
operate

standard

Make
surethatthe
plugs
are
pushed
fully
in,atbothends,toensure
good
connections.Poorconnectionwill
cause
hum.

arecontrolledfromthe
Quad
66
preamplifier
control
panel
using
theCD
function buttons. PressIheradiobuttontoselectradioonthe
Quad
66preamplifier
andtosettheremote
controltoitsradiofunction.

radio,then
all
thetunerfunctionswill
beinhibited
- if
thisoccurs
just
press
theradio button
again.

switched

lastswitched
off.

Once
the
required
station
orfrequencyhasbeenfounditcanbe
put
intothetuner
memoryby pressing
the storebutton.This
switches
thetunerbackto the
normal
search
modesoif
you
needtotune-infurtherstations,
inthis
way,
you
will
again
havetoswitchthetunertoits
stepping
mode.

preamplifier

panel
fromthetuner.Thisis
usefulifareplacement
battery
isnot
readilyavailableor
if
you
wantthe
control
panelpermanently
sitedbythetuner.

lid,pulloutthe
connectinglead
and
plug
thisinto
theDC
power
supply
socketonthefrontright
