repairs will void your warranty.
• Nolubricationisrecommendedorrequired.
• Avoidstoringindirectsunlight,inextremeheatorcold,orverymoistareas.
• Wearrubberglovesandprotectiveclothingwhenworkingaroundleadacidbatteries.
• Donotsmoke.Donotallowanyopenameorsparksnearaleadacidbattery.
• Removerings,bracelets,necklaces,watchesandotherpersonalmetalitems.Alead
acid battery can produce short circuit current strong enough to weld metal items and
cause severe burns.
• Becarefulwithtoolsaroundleadacidbatteries;donotdroptoolsonbattery—sparks
andexplosioncouldresult.
• Ifbatteryacidcontactsyourskinorclothing,washwithsoapandwater.Ifacidenters
youreye,immediatelyoodtheeyewithcoldrunningwaterfor10minutesandseek
medical attention.
• Ifbatteryacidisswallowed,drinkmilk,eggwhitesorwaterandDONOTinduce
vomiting.Getimmediatemedicalattention.
• Whenworkingunderthehood,becarefulofmovingfanblades,belts,pulleysand
other moving parts that may cause injury.

TheRescue2100isacommercialgradeportablepowerpackcapableofdelivering
signicantcurrenttoprovidejumpstartingpowerforcars,trucksandcommercialequip-
ment.TheRescue2100providesswitchable12Vand24Vpower.ItfeaturesSmartPolarity
andSmartVoltageprotection.Thesefeaturespreventthepowerpackfromconnectingto
systems when polarity connections are incorrect or when the voltage of the system does
not match the unit’s settings.

1. Determinethevoltagerequirementforthedevicetobepowered.Select12Vor24Von
the back of the power pack.
2. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive input terminal and the black
(negative –) clamp to the negative input terminal.
3. VerifythattheLowVoltage/SmartPolarityOfflightisilluminated.
4. PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.Thebatterymeterdisplaywillshow
a countdown.
5. VerifythePowerlightison.Thepowerpackisnowsupplyingcurrenttoyourdevice.
6. Turn the unit off by turning the switch on the back of the power pack off, and then
disconnect the clamps.
7. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
Beforeusingyourportablepowerpack,youshouldfullychargeit.Note:TheRescue2100
willrechargeonlywhenthevoltageselectorisinthe12Vposition.Thebatterydisplaymeter
willshowwhentheunitischargingandwhenitisfullycharged.Youcanchecktheactual
batteryvoltageanytimebypressingtheinternalbatteryvoltagebutton.Rechargeevery30
daysoranytimetheinternalbatteryvoltagefallsbelow11.5V.Fluctuationsintemperature
can accelerate battery discharge. Check your unit often. Charge using the supplied built-in
A/CchargerorusetheRescue604095in-cabchargingcord.
1. Determinetherequiredbatteryvoltageofthevehicletobejumpstarted,andsetthe
switchonthebackofthepowerpacktothecorrectvoltage.Verifythatthecorrect
voltage light is illuminated on the front panel of the power pack.
2. Checkvehiclebatteryterminalsbeforeusingthepowerpack;cleanthemifnecessary.
3. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive terminal or post on the discharged
battery.
4. Connect the black (negative –) clamp to a ground away from the battery, such as an
alternator bracket.
• Note:Somevehiclesareequippedwithpositiveandnegativestartterminalsaway
fromthebattery.Usetheseterminalswhenavailable.
5. VerifythegreenSmartPolaritylightison.Ifitis,pressStart.Ifitisnot,refertothe
troubleshooting section.
6. VerifythePowerlightison.Theunitisnowsupplyingjumpstartingpowertoyour
vehicle.
7. Starttheengine.Afterapproximately6secondsofcontinuouscranking,ifthedisabled
vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 2 minutes. This prevents damage to your power
pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
8. Turn off the power switch on the back of the power pack and disconnect the clamps,
rstnegativeandthenpositive.Storeclampsproperlyonunit.
9. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
• IftheRescue2100isnotfullychargeditmayshutdownunderheavyloadifitcannot
deliversufcientvoltage.
• Failuretokeepinternalbatterychargedwillleadtopermanentbatterydamage.

To Jump Start a Vehicle or Machine:

Thedigitaldisplaywillshowtheexternalbatteryvoltagewhenthepowerpackisconnected.
If the polarity is incorrect on the battery connection, there will be no display. Pressing the
internalbatteryvoltagebuttonwilldisplaytheinternalvoltageexpressedeitheras12Vor
24Vdependingontheswitchsettingonthebackofthepowerpack.Whenthepowerpack
is being recharged, the meter will show charging with the letters CH and animation speed
dependingontheamountofcurrentow.Whentheunitisfullycharged,thedisplaywill
readFUL.
TheyellowLowVoltageLEDindicatorlightwillilluminatewhenevertheRescue2100is
turnedonandtheexternalvoltageattheclampsislow,ortheyarenotconnected.Thisis
normal.SeethesectiononusingtheRescue2100asa12Vor24Vpowersource.
ThevoltageindicatingLEDlightswillindicateinternallowbatteryvoltagebyashing.The
moredischargedtheinternalbatterybecomes,thefasterthelightwillash.Presstheinter-
nalbatteryvoltagebuttontoseetheexactinternalbatterystatus.
The12Vauxiliaryoutletisprotectedbya15ampcircuitbreaker,whichresetsautomatically.

Troubleshooting
Problem: Rescue 2100 turns off under load.
• Theinternalbatterymaybelow.
• Checktheinternalbatteryvoltageandrechargeasneeded.
• Extremelyhighcurrentdrawispresent.Thismaybebecausethereisashortcircuit
in the system to be jump started.
•Check the system for short circuits.
• TheloadrequiredmayexceedthecapacityoftheRescue2100.Verylargebatteriesor
battery banks may require recharging, not jump start assistance.
Problem: Green power light fails to light when the start button is pressed.
Unit is sounding a tone.
• Checkthereversepolaritylight.Ifitisilluminated,reversetheclampconnections.
• Checkthevoltageerrorlight.Ifitisilluminated,selectthecorrectbatteryvoltage.
• Theinternalbatteryvoltageisbelow8.5V.Checktheinternalbatteryvoltage,and
recharge the unit.
Problem: The Rescue 2100 will not recharge.
• Ifnotoneissounding,checkthepowercordforsecureconnection,andverifythatthe
wall power outlet is live.
• Iftoneissounding,turnthevoltageselectorto12V.
Problem: The low voltage light is lit and the unit will not engage.
• Thiscanhappenifthebatteryontheunittobestartedisseverelydischarged.
1.VerifythatthepropervoltagehasbeenselectedontheRescue2100.
2.Verifythattheclampsareconnectedcorrectly,positivetopositiveandnegative
to ground.
3.PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.
4.VerifythegreenPowerlightison.Theunitisnowconnected.
Polarity and voltage protection features
are not available in this mode.

instructions, impact damage, or negligence is not covered by this warranty. The
manufacturer reserves the right to inspect units for improper use in determining warranty
coverage.
