USER MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a quality product - the electronic veena 'Sunadavinodini".
The electronic veena, 'Sunadavinodini' is a co pletely self-contained, portable veena that can be asse bled or
dis antled in seconds.
The features of the electronic veena 'Sunadavinodini' are:
1. Enhanced volu e, with the a plifier, loudspeaker and electronic ta bura built into the right side gourd
that rests on the ground.

With the Sunadavinodini electronic veena, the vainika can easily carry the instru ent anywhere, asse ble it in
seconds, and enjoy the usic that he / she creates with the enhanced possibilities provided.
ASSEMBLY OF THE SUNADAVINODINI:
The Instru ent consists of a fret-board and two detachable gourds ('sorekkai' or 'burude') – one with the
a plispeaker and ta bura, and the other a support gourd to place on the lap.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sunadavinodini electronic veena can be used at any voltage fro 90V – 260V AC without using any voltage
selector switch.
ASSEMBLY OF VEENA: Fix the detachable gourds to the fret-boards by inserting the three screws on the
botto of the fret-board into the keyholes on the top of the gourd bracket, control panel facing you in the a pli-
speaker gourd, and the ‘Sunadavinodini’ label facing you in the other gourd. Twist the gourds into place just like
fixing a light bulb into its socket. Tighten the s all locking screw provided below the fixing bracket of the gourd,
to prevent the gourd fro detaching accidentally.
Connect the veena to the a pli-speaker gourd with the two connecting cords provided, for the ain strings and
taala strings respectively. One end of each connecting cord fits into its socket under the fret-board. The other
end of the cord fits into the respective socket next to the power button on the a pli-speaker gourd. Connect the
ains cord of the a pli-speaker (right side) gourd fro the ains socket on the veena to the ains power
supply. Switch ON the a pli-speaker gourd by pressing the power button and adjust the volu e to your
require ent. Switch ON the ta bura using the controls on the left side of the sa e gourd, and adjust the volu e
by pressing the ▲and ▼ buttons. Tune to the sruti required using the ▲and ▼ buttons.

Fine-tune pitch if required by pressing 'MODE' and then ▲and ▼ buttons. Use PA / MA / NI selection if required.
Adjust and tune the veena strings to this sruti, using the guitar keys provided. These keys perfor both coarse
and fine-tuning.
Switch off the gourd after use. Disconnect power cord. Carefully detach the connectors on the gourd fro the
fretboard.To disasse ble, unscrew the locking screws on each gourd. Twist and re ove.
USING ON BATTERY: Reco ended: Rechargeable Exide 12V battery no. EP 7-12 ( battery not included). In
case of AC Mains power failure, re ove the AC Mains cord and connect the battery cord provided to the socket
arket 'BAT'. Connect the other end of the cord to a 12V battery pack, ENSURING THAT THE RED LEAD IS
CONNECTED TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL AND THE BLACK LEAD IS CONNECTED TO THE NEGATIVE
TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY.
MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT
1. Changing strings: Use only good quality agnetic ('Electro') strings to ensure that all the strings are picked up
evenly. The 'Sunadavinodini' uses strings with a etal bead looped at one end. Hence use only strings specially
ade for the Sunadavinodini. (available as accessories on our website www.radel.in). Insert the free end of the
string through the hole on the bridge and pull it right up to the tuning keys at the tail of the veena.
Insert the end of the string into the hole on the tuning shaft. Cut off excess length of the string so that only about
three or four turns of the string are coiled around the tuning rod. Turn the tuning key so that the wire coils around
the rod fro the top. Use the correct gauge of wire for each string depending on the pitch.
2. Adjust ent of frets: All the frets are adjustable and can be oved to any position along the fret-board. Use a
No.7 spanner (supplied with the instru ent) to slightly loosen the nuts below each end of the fret. Move the fret
to any position and check for the correctness of the note. After ascertaining the correct position, tighten the nuts
on both ends of the fret without changing its position. CAUTION: Do not apply excessive force on the nuts as this
is likely to da age the threads of the nut.
WARRANTY
Like all Radel products, the Sunadavinodini carries a warranty of 3 years fro the date of sale. (Loudspeakers
and power cords carry a warranty of 12 onths). This warranty is subject to the standard ter s and conditions of
the anufacturer. All users are advised to ensure that the warranty counterfoils attached to this anual are
returned to Radel Electronics Pvt. Ltd. within 15 days of purchase. In case of any proble s, users are advised to
contact the anufacturers without any delay giving details of the proble , date of purchase, dealer’s na e and
purchase docu ent reference.
Warranty is applicable only in India.
