Chapter 1: System Guide
1.1 Precautions in Use
• Repairs should be referred to the supplier or the manufacturer.
• User’s manual should be read before using the equipment.
• There are sensitive parts in the equipment. Do not dismantle the equipment.
• Power cord should be arranged safely and not be touched with wet hands.
• Do not use loose plug or damaged power cable.
• Do not use Benzene, Thinner or Alcohol for cleaning. It could damage the product.
• Do not touch exposed terminals.
• To switch off the system, turn the power off normally in the program and switch off the
peripheral equipment.
• Do not insert conductive material into the ventilation holes.
• Do not dismantle or modify the equipment.
• Do not place heavy objects on the equipment.
• Avoid mechanical shock while moving the equipment.
• When smoke is seen coming from the equipment, immediately unplug it from the power
source to prevent fire or electric shock.

1.2 Product Guide
This DVR is a Linux-based high resolution digital video recorder (DVR). It is the next generation
digital image security equipment replacing traditional analog time tape recorders.
This DVR is a cost-effective recording solution because cost of replacing analog tapes is
completely eliminated. Overall maintenance is minimized by storing data with very high
compression rates using MPEG4 Technology.

Chapter 2: Surveillance Function
2.1 Live View Screen
Live View screen is the default mode when DVR is first started. Here you can view videos from
the cameras connected to the DVR. Also, you access functions such as Camera Layout, PTZ
Control, Emap, Search and Playback, System Settings, Audio, Sensor, Relay, and Image controls.

1. Logging – In
User must log-in first to access all the buttons from the Live View Screen. All buttons in default
mode are disabled.
To Log-In
1. Click on the Lock or Unlock button from the extreme upper right side of the Live View
Screen
2. Enter username and password
3. Click on Log-In button or Cancel button to Exit
NOTE: The factory default for username is “Admin” and for password is “password” respectively. You can change
the default username and password when logged in.
2. Power off
To shut down DVR, you can press the Power button.
NOTE: Only authorized users can shutdown the DVR.

3. Changing Camera Layout
You can view each camera in several ways using the following buttons:
• View Screens in Split Mode
From the Layout Table, you can select the number of camera to be displayed. Here, you
can also select from up to 16 camera to be displayed in one window
(1,4,6,7,8,9,10,13,16). For example you want to view only 4 screens, just click on the 4
screen camera layout button.
• Split Mode to Full Screen Mode
From Split screen mode, you can go to full screen mode by clicking on the Full Screen
button.
• Next Channel, Cyclic Screen and Channel Selection
All of these buttons have different functions but all lead in Full Screen. Next Channel is
like changing the channel in a Television. Here you’ll be changing channels manually.
You have to click this button again to proceed to the Next channel. But if you want to
select only the desired channel, you can select from the Channel Selection. And if you
want to view all channels automatically, you have to select the Cyclic Screen, wherein the
screens changes in every 2 seconds.
• Capture image instantly
Through the use of Snapshot function you can capture image from a currently playing
video instantly. As you click this button, a separate window will appear showing the
image in printable form that comes with date, time and camera number.
• Using Forced Recording
Even there’s no recording scheduled, you can still record manually. Just click on the
forced recording button to start the recording. This is also useful when there’s an urgent
need of recording and there’s no schedule, you can use this.
NOTE: You can only view each screens one at a time in using Next Channel, Cyclic screen and Channel
selection

4. Listening to Microphone
Select the Audio button to switch to the Audio Panel. From the audio panel, click a number,
Clicking turns on or off the microphone associated with the selected camera number. So if you
want to listen to the microphone from Camera 1, just click on the 1st button from the Audio Panel.
5. View Sensor Status
To know which sensors are active click on the Sensor button. Active sensors are represented by
red buttons.
6. Activating/Deactivating Relay Device
Select Relay button to switch to the Relay Panel. From the Relay Panel, Click the relay button of
the corresponding number. Active relay are represented by red buttons. To deactivate, click the
red buttons again

7. Adjusting Color Properties of the Image
Color Properties of an image such as Brightness, Contrast, Hue and Saturation can be changed.
Click on the Image button to switch to the Color Properties Controls.
1. Brightness: to adjust the brightness of the image
2. Contrast: to adjust the whiteness or blackness of the image
3. Hue: to adjust the dominant of the image
4. Saturation: to adjust the intensity of color of the image
5. Apply to all button: to apply the changes to all the cameras
6. Restore to default: to restore the image to the default brightness/contrast/saturation/hue
settings
8. Date and Time Indicator
shows current date and time of the system
9. View remote connections
shows if remote client is connected
10. View HDD usage
shows usage of hard disk

2.2 E-map Function
Emap is one of the best features of this DVR. This function displays the selected map from the
Map list. The map shows where the Cameras, Sensors and Relays are located. Also, from the
map, you can click the Camera Icon, and then a pop-up window will appear showing the video
from the selected camera.

Chapter 3 : PTZ Function
3.1 PTZ Main Screen
PTZ Main Screen is composed of Pan, Tilt, and Zoom controls. Here, you can adjust the PTZ
properties of each Camera. You have to select first a Camera from the Camera Selection before
you change each property of a Camera’s PTZ settings.
NOTE: Use of PTZ function is only allowed if current user’s Login ID is authorized for this function. Without the
authority, the use is restricted.
1. Camera selection: select which channel to control
2. PTZ Control: control for camera in all directions
3. Zoom Control: control for the focal length of the camera
4. Focus Control: control for the focus of the camera
5. Iris Control: control for the Iris of the camera
6. Pan/Tilt Speed Control: control the speed of Pan/Tilt
7. Zoom Speed Control: control the speed as the camera zooms in or out
8. Focus speed: controls the speed as the camera focus
9. Auto-Panning: automatic panning of camera
10. Preset: access to Preset function
11. Group Run: access to Group Run function
12. Pattern Tracking: access to Pattern Tracking function

3.2 Preset function
Preset Function is a function to index location where the camera will focus. Each camera can be
set up to 64 presets, but can only be executed one at a time. Just click on one preset from the
Preset list then click on the Go button to activate the selected preset.

3. Setup button: access to add new preset
4. Delete button: delete the selected preset

3.3 Pattern Tracking Function
Pattern tracking function is a function where more than one Preset is required to be used to
form a track, but you can only choose one track from the Track List. Each track contains a
sequence of presets that the selected cameras will execute. The execution of the selected tracks
will depend upon the set dwell time.
1. Pattern Track list: list of available track(s)
2. Go button: activates the selected track
3. Setup button: access to create a new track
4. Clear button: delete track(s) from the list

1. Enter Track label and description
2. Enter Dwell time (how much time the camera will stay on each preset)
3. Select Preset from the left side then click button to add to the Selected Presets
4. Click Add button

3.4 Group Run function
Group Run function is where several cameras can be selected to a particular preset. If you
select from the Group List, all selected cameras will focus on the selected preset. For example,
you want all cameras to focus to the Entrance door, so you have to select the Door-Entrance
from the list, and then click the Go button.
