RapidLink 54 Wireless Bridge
4 Installation Guide
WARNING
Use extreme care when installing equipment or working near power lines.
CAUTION
When the unit is in operation, avoid standing directly in
front of the antenna. Strong RF fields are present when
the transmitter is on.
The antenna used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a
separation distance of at least 150 cm from all persons.
This Point-to-Point device and its antenna(s) must not be co-located or
operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These
limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial
environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is
likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be
required to correct the interference at his own expense.
RF output power limits
FCC and Industry Canada regulate the maximum equivalent isotropic
radiated power (EIRP) for RapidWave products, depending on antenna
gain and type of deployment. Installers must insure that the power
output limits in the following tables are met for the various types of
antennas sold for use with the RapidWave RL 54 transceiver:
Antenna Type Deployment Gain Maximum Allowed Power
Level at Antenna Input
Panel antennas Point to Point 22 - 28 dBi 23.5 dBm (226 mW)
