Cleaningthethermalcamera
Thecamerahousingandlenses(objectiveandeyepiece)will
requireoccasionalcleaning.Raymarinesuggeststhatyouclean
lenseswhenimagequalitydegradationisnoticedorexcessive
contaminantbuildupisseen.
Whencleaningthisproduct:
•DoNOTwipelenseswithadrycloth,asthiscouldscratchthe
coating.
•DoNOTuseabrasive,oracidorammoniabasedproducts.
•DoNOTpressurewash.
Tocleanthecamera:
1.Switchoffthepowertotheunit.
2.Cleanthecamerabodywithaclean,softcottoncloth.Youcan
moistentheclothanduseamilddetergentifrequired.
3.Cleanthecameralenses(objectiveandeyepiece).
•Rinselenseswithfreshwatertoremovealldirtparticlesand
saltdeposits,andallowtodrynaturally.
•Ifanyspotsorsmearsremain,verygentlywipethelenses
withacleanmicrobreclothorsoftcottoncloth.
•Ifnecessary,useisopropylalcohol(IPA)oramilddetergentto
removeanyremainingspotsormarks.

3.3Chargingthecamera
Youmustfullychargethecamera'sinternalLi-Ionbatterybefore
usingthecameraforthersttime.
Tochargethecamera:
1.LiftthecoverontheUSBsocket,andplugintheUSBcable
providedwiththecamera.
2.PlugtheotherendofthecableintoaUSBpowersource.
Whenchargingcorrectly,thechargingindicatorislityellow.
Whenfullycharged,thechargingindicatorislitgreen.Theinitial
chargetimeisapproximately4hours.
3.4Switchingonandoff
Ensurethatthecamera'sinternalbatteryischarged.
Toswitchthecameraonandoff:
1.Withthecameraswitchedoff,pressthePowerbutton.
Anaudiblealertsounds,thedisplayturnson,andthecamera
buttonsareback-lit.Thecameraisreadytouseinapproximately
4seconds.
2.Withthecameraswitchedon,pressthePowerbutton.
Anaudiblealertsounds,thedisplayturnsoff,andthecamera
buttonsgodark.
IfyoupresstheDisplayBrightnessbutton,theLEDtasklight
turnson.
Note:TheLEDtasklightisdisabledwhilethecameraisswitched
on.

3.5Powermanagement
Yourcameraisequippedwithapowermanagementsystemthat
providesupto5hoursofcontinuousoperation.
Whenswitchedoff,thebatterywillholdachargeforupto2months.
Ifnobuttonsarepressedforapproximately5minutes,thecamera
willswitchoffautomatically.Thispreventsthebatteryfromdraining
ifyouinadvertentlyleavethecameraswitchedon.
Whenauto-shutdownbegins,Autoshutdown30sisshowninthe
display.Aftercountingdownfor30seconds,thecamerawillswitch
off.
Tostoptheauto-shutdownprocessonceithasbegun,pressany
button.(Thenormalfunctionofthebuttonwillnotoccur.)
3.6Batterystatusindicator
Yourcameraisequippedwithasophisticatedpowersystem,using
arechargeableinternalLi-Ionbattery.
Whilethecameraisswitchedon,abatterystatusindicatorisshown
inthecornerofthedisplay.Thisindicatorprovidesanestimate
oftheremainingbatterycharge:

3.7Adjustingthedisplaybrightness
Youcanadjustthedisplaybrightnessonthecameratothelevel
youndmostcomfortabletouse.
Toadjustthedisplaybrightness:
1.PresstheDisplaybrightnessbuttononce.
Oneofthefollowingiconsisdisplayedforafewseconds,
indicatingthecurrentbrightnesslevel:

2.Toselectadifferentbrightnesslevel,presstheDisplay
brightnessbuttonagain.
Subsequentbuttonpresseswillcyclethroughallavailable
brightnesslevels.
Note:Ifthecameraisswitchedoff,holdingdowntheDisplay
brightnessbuttonturnsontheLEDtasklight.Thetasklightis
disabledifthecameraisswitchedon.
3.8Changingthedisplaymode
Yourcamerahas3displaymodes.Youcanswitchbetweendisplay
modestohelpyouseemoreclearlyindifferentenvironmental
conditions.
Toadjustthedisplaymode:
1.PresstheDisplaymodebuttononce.
Oneofthefollowingiconsisdisplayedforafewseconds,
indicatingthecurrentdisplaymode:
DisplayiconDisplaymode
Whitehot—hotterobjectsappearaswhite
orlightgrey.
Blackhot—hotterobjectsappearasblackor
darkgrey.
Marinered—similartotheWhitehotdisplay
mode,butthehottestobjectsinthesceneare
coloredredtomaintainnormalnightvision.
2.Toselectadifferentdisplaymode,presstheDisplaymode
buttonagain.
Subsequentbuttonpresseswillcyclethroughall3display
modes.
Note:WhileWhitehotisthemostcommonlyusedandvisually
intuitivewayofviewingthermalimages,Blackhotcanenhance
thecontrastofcertainobjects,orprovidebettervisualperspective
insomeconditions.

3.9Zoomingthedisplay(TH32model
only)
Yourcamera(TH32modelonly)hasazoomfunction.Zoomingthe
displayenablesyoutoinspectthescenemoreclosely.
Toswitchthecamerato2xzoom:
1.PresstheZoombuttononce.
Thecentralpartoftheimageismagniedtotwiceitsnormal
size,andthezoomiconisdisplayed:

2.Toreturntonozoom(fullresolution),presstheZoombutton
again.
3.10Freezingthedisplay(TH24model
only)
Yourcamera(TH24modelonly)hasafreeze-framefunction.
Freezingthedisplayenablesyoutoinspectthescenemoreclosely.
Tofreezethedisplay:
1.PresstheFreezeframebuttononce.
Thedisplayimageisfrozen.
2.Toreturntonormalvideodisplay,presstheFreezeframebutton
again.

3.11Adjustingtheeyepiecediopter
setting
Yourcamerahasadiopteradjustmentsystembuiltintotheeyepiece.
Youcanusethistoadjusttheeyepiecefocusupto±2diopters,
makingiteasiertousethecameraifyouusuallywearglasses.
Toadjusttheeyepiecedioptersetting:
1.Whilelookingthroughtheeyepiecewiththecameraswitchedon,
slowlyrotatethedioptercontroluntilthedisplayappearsinfocus.

2.Onceyouhaveadjustedthedioptersetting,leavethediopter
controlinitsnewpositionunlesssomeoneelseneedstouse
thecamera.
Note:Whenthepointedsideofthedioptercontrolisdirected
towardsthecameraeyepiece,itisinitsneutralposition(zero
diopters).
