Introduction
Thank you for purchasing ESC from RC Concept. Please read
the following informations before use the ESC. These operating
instructions are designed to ensure that you quickly become
familiar with its features and functions and make full use of this
product.
Features
• Timing and Turbo control which improve the motor RPM
and its performances.
• Throttle and Brake control. You can control the punch
and the brakes by point. 5 steps from very weak to very strong
fro easy tuning.
• Low resistance connectors used to improve power and reduce
heat.
• The circuit is managed by intelligent thermal management
kernel algorithm in order to improve driving skill and adjust the
control time of the dead band. The dynamic loss is reduced
effectively when the motor is running at high speed or the
user us changing the motor speed frequently. This allowed the
motor to be more stable when running.
• Cooling design. The case and the internal design of the
ESC has been designed to reduce the heat and give maximum
power at all time.
• External switch for more reliability.
• Proles with pre-settings for most needs: Off-Road carper
2wd/4wd - Off-Road Dirt 2wd/4wd - Touring 13.5T. Those
program can be tuned with the EC Box or our PC Software
available on our website.
• Safety features: low voltage protection, motor and ESC
overheat protection and signal lost protection.
• Programmable with our RC Concept EC Box.
• Option to turn off the ESC by keeping the trigger full brake for
8seconds. This can be disable if needed.
Safety Note
• It is not a toy and suitable for users older than 14 years old.
• Never allow water, moisture, oil or other foreign materials to
get inside the ESC, Motor or on the PC boards. It may damage
the ESC completely.
• Never disassemble the ESC and modify the components on
the PC boards.
• Never solder one part for more than 5 seconds as some
components will get damaged by high temperature.
• Never run the ESC without load at full throttle or it may
damage the bearings and other moving parts.
• Please make sure the location where to x the ESC has good
airflow ventilating so the heat could dissipate quickly.
• To avoid short circuit, please keep the ESC connectors far away
from other metal parts.
• Never conncet the battery polarity in reverse.
• Please remove the pinion gear before performing calibration
and programming functions with this system.
• Before you switch on the ESC, make sure all the cables are well
solder with the connectors.
• Electronic motor timing will increase the temperature of ESC
and bruchless motor. Use with caution when setting up and
testing your application to avoid overloading and overheating.
• Incorrect Boost and Timing setting may cause permanent
damage to the ESC and motors. Please coose proper ratio and
timing according to motor’s instruction.
• To avoid signal interference, please always turn on the
transmitter rst and then turn on the ESC. Do the opposite
when powering off.
• Always insulate exposed wiring with heat shrink tubing to
prevent short circuits which can damage the ESC.
• Always disconnect the battery pack from the ESC when not in
use. When the ESC is switched off, there is still small current
and it may cause over discharge of the battery after some time.
• The SC10R can support 4-9 cells NiMH or 2-3 cells LiPo battery.
The SC8R can support 2-6S cells LiPo battery.
NOTE: We will not be responsible for any damage
caused by non-compliance with above instruction.

Preparation
1- PLAN ESC PLACEMENT
Choose a location for the ESC protected from debris. To prevent
radio interference, place the ESC far from the receiver and keep
the power wires as short as possible. Select a location that has
good airow ventilating. If the ESC get airow it will run cooler
and will be more efcient.
2- MOUNT ESC IN VEHICLE
Use double-sided tape to mount the ESC in vehicle (do not use
CA glue).
3- SOLDERING
Cut the ESC’s A, B and C silicone motor power wires to the
desired length and strip 3mm-5mm of insulate from the end of
each wire. «Pre-tin» the wire by heating the end and applying
some solder until it is thoroughly covered.
CAUTION: Be very careful not to splash yourself with hot solder.
Place the ESC Phase A motor wire to the A solder tab from the
motor and solder. Use soldering iron to apply heat to exposed
wire; begin adding solder to tip of soldering iron and wire. Add
just enough solder to form a clean and continuous joint from the
plated area of the solder tab up onto the wire. Solder the ESC
Phase B motor wire to the B solder table from the motor and C
motor wire to the C solder wire from the motor.
Connection
1-Connect the motor sensor harness to ESC. Insert the 6 pin
connector on the end of the motor’s sensor wires into ESC’s
sensor harness socket.
2-Connect throttle lead to the Receiver (Throttle Channel -
Ch2).
3-Solder the motor to the ESC.
4-Connect ESC to battery pack.
ESC Calibration
Calibration is necessary for the rst use of the ESC, or whenever
used with a new/different transmitter. Individual transmitter’s
signals for full throttle, full brake and neutral vary. You must
calibrate ESC to make it work effectively with your transmitter.
HOW TO CALIBRATE THE ESC ?
• ESC Switch OFF.
• Connect the ESC to the battery and the motor.
• Turn ON your transmitter.
• Be sure to have your EPA at 100% on your transmitter for both
Throttle and Brake.
• Press the calibration button on the Switch and turn ON your
ESC. Your motor will ring long beep once. After that, the Red
LED will blink and the motor will ring like beep-beep-beep...
in a row indicates it is time to set neutral position, full throttle
and full brake one by one. You could release thge calibration
button now.
• Keep the throttle trigger in neutral position, press
the calibration button once, the green LED will
blink once then extinguish and the motor will
ring beep once indicates the neutral position has
been set.
• Hold full throttle and press the calibration
button once, the green LED will blink twice then
extinguish and the motor will ring twice which
indicates the full throttle has been set.
• Move the throttle trigger to full brake and hold full
brake, press the calibration button once, the green
LED will blink three times then extinguish and the motor will
ring three times which indicates the full brake has been set.
• After the calibration is nished keep the throttle in neutral
position, the red LED will stay ON, the ESC and motor are
ready to work.

ESC ON/OFF and LED Indicator
1-ESC ON/OFF: Turn ON the ESC by pushing the switch to ON.
The red LED will stay ON (Boost and Timing are ON), or blink
(Zero-Timing Mode).
2-Explanation of LED indicator
ESC programming
Program with EC Box
You can use the RC Concept EC Box to program your ESC.
All the tuning options are explained on page 12 of this manual.

RC Concept PC Software is available for free on our website:
www.rcconcept.net. You can connect you SC10R to the PC
Software with our EC Box. A USB-Micro USB cable is needed.
All the Software updated will be available on our website.
Programmable items and description
Check page 12 of this manual for a complete list of the tuning
options and their affect on the ESC.
Note 1: If you set the voltage cut-off manually, please not the
adjustable voltage is TOTAL voltage cut-off of the battery
pack. In AUTO mode, the default voltage cut-off is 3.2V/S, for
exemple, the voltage cut-off of a 4S pack would be 12.8V=3.2x4
in AUTO Mode.
Note 2: The output power of the motor will be improved
when you adjust the motor timing. Electronic motor timing
will increase the temperature of the ESC and brushless motor.
Use extreme caution when setting up and testing your Boost
Timing and Turbo Timing to avoid overloading and overheating.
Incorrect Boost or Turbo timing setting may cause permanent
damage to the ESC and motors.

Warranty and Service
The SC10R from RC Concept is guaranteed to be free from
defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 90 days
from the original date of purchase (veried date by sale receipt).
Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, component
worn by use, damage to case or exposed circuit boards,
damage due to timing, damage from using more than 3 LiPo
cells imput voltage, cross-connection of battery/motor power
wires, overheating solder tabs, reverse polarity, imporper use
or installation of external BEC, damage resulting from thermal
overload pr short-circuiting motor, damage from incorrect
installation of FET servo or receiver battery pack, tampering
with internal electronics, allowing water, moisture, or any other
foreign materials to enter ESC, incorrect installation/wiring of
imput plug plastic, allowing exposed wiring or solder tabs to
short-circuiting, or any damage caused by a crash, ooding or
natural disaster.
Because RC Concept has no control over the connection & useof
the ESC or other related electronics, no liability may be assumed
nor will be accepted for any damage resulting from the use of
this products. Every RC Concept is tested and control at the RC
Concept factory in FRANCE before being packed and therefore
considered operational.
By the act of connecting/operating ESC, user accepts all
resulting liability. In no case shall our liability exceed the
product’s original cost. We reserve the right to modify warranty
provisions without notice. This product is not intended for use
by children under 14 years of age without the supervision of an
adult. Use of the product in an uncrontrolled manne may result
in physical damage or injuries take extra when operating any
remote control.
For any repart or replace service, please contact your dealer in
rst instance, who is responsible for processing gurantee claims.

GENERAL SETTINGS
Running Mode
1)“Forward Only with Brake” this mode is
meant for competition use. In this mode
the car can go forward and brake, there is
no reverse.
2)“Forward/Reverse with Brake” this is the
basic all-around mode. In this mode the
car can go forward and reverse and can
also brake. When you move the throttle to
the reverse position while the car is moving
forward, brakes are applied until the car is
fully stopped, reverse cannot engage while
the car is moving. To engage reverse, once
the car has stopped, release the brakes and
move the throttle to the reverse position
again. While braking or in reverse, if the
throttle is moved to the forward position,
the car will immediately accelerate forward.
3)“Forward/Reverse” this mode is meant
for Rock Crawler use. In this mode there is
no brake, the car can go from forward to
reverse immediately without any pause. Do
not use this mode with other car types as
it can overload and/or damage the ESC.
Voltage Cutoff
This function helps to prevent battery
over-discharge. The ESC continuously
monitors the battery’s voltage. If the voltage
becomes lower than the threshold for 2
seconds, the output power is shut off and
the red LED ashes twice repeatedly. For
racing, set the voltage cutoff at 3.0V
ESC Temp. Protection This parameter activates or deactivates the
overheating protection. Output power will
be cut-off if the temperature of the ESC or
the internal temperature of the motor goes
(sensored only) over a factory preset value
for 5 seconds.
For racing, Disable the overheat
protections.
Motor Temp. Protection
THROTTLE CONTROL
Switch Point This will set the point between the 1st Stage
Punch and 2nd Stage Punch
1st Stage Punch
This will set the punch you will get on the
rst stage (1% 50% if Switch point set
at 50%). The higher the value is the more
punch and power you will get.
2nd Stage Punch
This will set the punch you will get on the
second stage (50% 100% if Switch point
set at 50%). The higher the value is the more
punch and power you will get.
TH Imput Curve Set Linear / To make it customs, please use
the PC Program available soon.
Throttle Dead Band
This parameter adjusts the throttle
sensitivity around the neutral point. A higher
value means that the throttle will have to be
moved further for the car to move forward,
backward or brake. Standart set-up us 80ms
BRAKE CONTROL
Drag Brake
Sets the amount of brake automatically
applied when the throttle is returned to the
neutral position. This simulates the engine
breaking effect of a real car, it can help
improve turn-in and the general feeling of
the car.
Brake Strength
This parameter adjusts the maximum
breaking force. A higher value provides
stronger braking, but it can also cause the
wheels to lock causing loss of control of
the car.
Initial Brake
This parameter adjusts the minimum
amount of braking power when the brakes
engage. The default value is equal to the
drag brake value. A high value can cause
the wheels to lock immediately when the
brake is used.

Brake Switch Point This will set the point between the 1st Stage
Break and 2nd Stage Break
1st Stage Break
This will set the brake you will get on the rst
stage (1% 50% if Switch point set at 50%).

BOOST TIMING
Boost Timing
This parameter adjusts the motor drive
current timing. The more timing you have
the more power you will get. Warning, too
much timing can cause motor and ESC
overheating and cause damages. This is a
x value added at any RPM between the
Start RPM and the end RPM.
Boost Start RPM This parameter adjusts when the Boost
Timing is starting to be add to the motor.
Boost End RPM This parameter adjusts when the Boost
Timing is stoping to be add to the motor.
Boost Liner Slop Set Linear / To make it customs, please use
the PC Program available soon.
Boost Constrain by TH Always set as "Yes"
TURBO TIMING
Turbo Timing
This parameter adjusts the add of timing
under certain restrictions: Full TH or a
certain value of RPM. The main difference
with Boost Timing is that the Turbo Timing is
progressive: the more RPMand/or time you
have the more turbo timing you get.
Turbo Act Method
You can set the Turbo Activation at Full
Throtlle (Most used setting) or at a certain
RPM value or both
Turbo Full TH Delay
If you set your Turbo timing to start at Full
Throttle, this parameter will adjust how
much time between full Throttle and the
Turbo Timing is starting to be add.
Turbo Start RPM
This parameter adjusts when the Turbo
Timing is starting to be add to the motor.
Use only if activation mode is RPM or RPM
+ Full Throttle.
Turbo Engage Slop This parameter adjusts the increase of Turbo
Timing (1°) by 0.1s
Turbo Desactive Slop This parameter adjusts the decrease of
Turbo Timing (1°) by 0.1s

Introduction
Merci d’avoir acheté un ESC RC Concept. Veuillez lire les infor-
mations suivantes avant d’utiliser cet ESC. Ces instructions ont
été faites pour que vous puissiez vous familiariser rapidement
avec les spécicités et les fonctions de notre ESC. Ces instruc-
tions vous permettront d’utiliser pleinement votre ESC.
Spécications
• Contrôle du Timing et du Turbo améliorant la vitesse de
rotation du moteur et ses performances.
• Contrôle de l’accélération et du freinage. Vous pouvez
régler la puissance et le freinage
• Toutes les connections internes détiennent une résistance
minime an de diminuer la température de fonctionnement et
d’augmenter la puissance.
• Le circuit interne est contrôlé par des algorythmes kernel de
contrôle intelligent an d’améliorer le feeling et d’ajuster le
contrôle de la « bande morte ». La perte dynamique est ainsi
réduite lorsque le moteur tourne à grande vitesse, ou le
pilote change la vitesse de rotation du moteur souvent (coups
de gaz). Ceci permet au moteur d’être parfaitement stable
lorsqu’il est en rotation.
• Design de refroidissement. Le boitier alu et le design
intérieur de l’ESC ont été dessiné pour diminuer la chaleur et
donner le maximum de puissance.
• Interrupteur externe pour un maximum de abilité et
d’accessibilité.
• Prols avec des réglages pré-établis pour tous vos besoins :
Off-Road carper 2wd/4wd - Off-Road Dirt 2wd/4wd - Touring
13.5T. Ces prols peuvent être changés grâce à notre EC Box
ou le logiciel PC disponible sur notre site web.
• Paramètres de sécurité : protection voltage bas, surchauffe du
moteur ou de l’ESC et perte de signal.
• Programmable avec la EC Box RC Concept.
• Option permettant d’éteindre l’ESC lorsque l’on maintient le
frein pendant 8 secondes.
Notes de sécurité
• Ceci n’est pas un jouet et ne convient pas pour des utilisateurs
de moins de 14 ans.
• Ne jamais laisser rentrer de l’eau, de l’humidité, de l’huile ou
tout autre corps étranger dans l’ESC, le moteur ou l’ESC Box.
Ceci pourrait les détruire dénitivement.
• Ne jamais désassembler l’ESC et modier les plaques.
• Ne jamais souder une pièce plus de 5 secondes, des compo-
sants pourraient être endommagés à cause d’une trop haute
température.
• Ne jamais utiliser l’ESC accéléré à fond sans charge, ceci pour-
rait endommager le moteur.
• Vérier que le lieu où vous installez votre ESC a un bon ux
d’air. Ainsi la chaleur se dissipera plus facilement.
• An d’éviter les court-circuits, gardez les connections de l’ESC
loin de tout autre élément métallique.
• Ne jamais brancher les polarités de l’ESC inversées.
• Veuillez démonter le pignon moteur avant de réaliser la calibra-
tion et de programmer le système.
• Avant d’allumer votre ESC, veuillez vérier que tous les bran-
chements sont bons.
• Le timing électronique fera augmenter la température de l’ESC
et du moteur. Veuillez utiliser avec précautions le Timing an
d’éviter une surchauffe.
• Un réglage du Boost ou du Timing incorrecte pourrait endom-
mager l’ESC ou le moteur de façon permanente. Merci d’uti-
liser un ratio et un timing correspondant aux instructions du
moteur.
• An de ne pas avoir de problèmes d’interférences, placé l’ESC
le plus loin possible de votre récepteur. Toujours allumer la
radio avant l’ESC et éteindre l’ESC avant la radio.
• Toujours isoler les soudures exposées avec de la gaine thermo
an d’éviter les court-circuits qui pourraient endommager l’ESC.
• Toujours déconnecter la batterie lorsque vous ne l’utilisez pas.
• Le SC10R peut supporter 4-9 cells NiMH ou 2-3 cells LiPo bat-
terie. Le SC8R peut supporter 2-6S cells LiPo batterie.
