This text is an addendum to DXT 9000 user manuals. Refer to master units (MU 9186, MU
9186R, MX 9502, MX 9504) user manuals for safety precautions and system use.
Before installing this component, please read this instruction manual carefully and keep it
on hand for future reference, as it is to be considered a part of the DXT 9000 system and
must accompany it when it changes ownership as a reference for correct installation.
RCF S.p.A. will not assume any responsibility for the incorrect installation and / or use.
NS 9048 is a noise detector that automatically adjust the volume level depending on the
environment noise.
It is specifically addressed to all those applications with a significantly different people
affluence during the day.
It shall be connected to any DXT 9000 power amplifiers and can act on every single
system’s zones, measured with a variable number of microphones (up to a maximum of 8).
Specifically designed to work with for 100V speakers used as microphones. However, it can
also be used with capsule microphones.
It is configurable using the dedicated panel in DXT 9000 Control Center PC software.

Thanks to its metal case and mounting ears (included), NS 9048 can be installed both in ceiling
(or false ceiling) and wall mount configuration, corners included. Be sure to use proper mounting
elements depending on the specific surface.
When installed inside a rack cabinet, be sure to arrange a correct ventilation of the component.

All connectors are placed on the rear panel, for easier cabling in rack configuration.
ENABLE / DISABLE PHANTOM POWER
The phantom power is enabled by default, but if not needed can be disabled following this
procedure:
1. open the metal removing all the screws;
2. for those microphones that do not require phantom power, remove the two jumpers
close to input connector, shown in the picture.
DATA and LINK LEDS. Provide feedback on the connection and data exchange between NS
9048 and DXT 9000 amplifiers.
MICROPHONES INPUTS. Up to eight microphones can be connected on the rear panel,and
assigned to different system’s zones.
PRESENCE LEDS for each microphone.
RS485 INPUT from DXT 9000 amplifier.The maximum distance is 8km, with properly
shielded and twisted cable pairs.This connection includes power supply: the operational
voltage is 24V DC or 48V DC and can be provided by EN54-4 power supplies (PS 4048 or
PS 6048).
RS485 OUTPUT to the other NS 9048. Up two units can be connected to the same DXT
9000 amplifiers.
RESET BUTTON. It is used only for device firmware update.

Questo manuale è aggiuntivo a quelli d’uso del sistema DXT 9000. Riferirsi al manuale
delle unità centrali (MU 9186, MU 9186R, MX 9502, MX 9504) per quanto riguardo il
funzionamento del sistema e le precauzioni d’uso.
Prima di installare il dispositivo, si prega di leggere attentamente le istruzioni contenute in
questo manuale, il quale è da conservare per riferimenti futuri, costituisce parte integrante
del sistema DXT 9000 e deve accompagnare quest’ultimo anche nei passaggi di proprietà,
per permettere al nuovo proprietario di conoscere le modalità d’installazione
.
L’installazione e l’utilizzo errati esimono la RCF S.p.A. da ogni responsabilità.
NS 9048 è un sensore di rumore che regola automaticamente il volume in base al rumore
ambientale.
È specificamente rivolto a tutte quelle applicazioni nelle quali si registra affluenza di
pubblico molto diversa durante il giorno.
Si collega alle unità amplificatore DXT 9000 e può agire sulle singole zone di un sistema,
con misura effettuata attraverso un numero variabile di microfoni (fino ad un massimo di
8).
È progettato per lavorare sia con gli altoparlanti per 100V usati come microfoni, sia con
microfoni a condensatore.
La sua configurazione si effettua tramite il pannello dedicato nel software per PC DXT 9000
Control Center.

Grazie alla sua struttura in metallo e le alette di fissaggio (incluse), NS 9048 può essere installato
sia a soffitto (o controsoffitto) sia a parete, comprese le configurazioni ad angolo. Assicurarsi di
utilizzare gli elementi di fissaggio appropriati a seconda della specifica superficie di fissaggio.
Quando installato all’interno di un armadio rack, assicurarsi di garantire la corretta ventilazione del
componente.

Tutti i connettori sono disposti sul pannello posteriore, per permettere un cablaggio più
agevole in configurazione rack.
ATTIVAZIONE / DISATTIVAZIONE DELL’ALIMENTAZIONE PHANTOM
L’alimentazione phantom è attiva nella configurazione di fabbrica del dispositivo. Se non
necessaria può essere disabilitata seguendo questa procedura:
1. aprire la custodia rimuovendo tutte le viti;
2. per i microfoni che non richiedono l’alimentazione phantom, rimuovere I due jumper
che si trovano in prossimità del connettore di ingresso, e mostrati in figura.
DATI e LINK LED. Forniscono un feedback sulla connessione e lo scambio di dati tra il NS
9048 e gli amplificatori DXT 9000 DXT.
INGRESSI MICROFONI. Fino ad otto microfoni possono essere collegati sul pannello
posteriore, e assegnati a diverse zone del sistema.
LED DI PRESENZA per ogni microfono.
INPUT RS485 da amplificatori DXT 9000. La distanza massima è di 8 km, con coppie di
cavi twistati e opportunamente schermati. Il connettore include i contatti di alimentazione:
la tensione di funzionamento è 24V DC o 48V DC e può essere fornita da alimentatori EN
54-4 (PS 4048 o PS 6048).
USCITA RS485 verso il secondo NS 9048. Due unità possono essere collegate allo stesso
amplificatore DXT 9000.
PULSANTE RESET. Viene utilizzato solo per l’aggiornamento firmware del dispositivo.
