Overview1
Introduction1.1
The video conference recorder CH50 is the latest generation multimedia recording
and streaming device for the video conferencing industry. CH50 can work in coordination
with all MCUs and terminals based on H.323 standard to record multiple meetings in
various speed and different modes. In addition, CH50 provides various functions including
live streaming, VOD, remote management and file management. With the characteristics
of simple operation, stable performance and easy maintenance, CH50 can meet the
requirement of capturing, streaming and sharing of visual information in the conference,
training and teaching scenarios.

As shown in the figure below, CH50, MCU and video conferencing terminal are in the
same network, and use H.232 and SIP protocol for mutual communication. Once a video
conference begins, CH50 is enabled to start the recording.
CH50 records the bit streams sent from the MCU and video conferencing terminal.
Users can log in to CH50 through the Web interface to view the conference in live or
VOD mode and download the recorded file.

Operation Guide2
Configuring IP Address for the LAN Interface2.1
1. Use the network cable to connect PC to the WAN interface of CH50.
2. Modify or add the IP address of PC to be 10.10.10.X (X is any integer from 1 to
254, except 10), with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
The IP address for the WAN interface of CH50 is 10.10.10.10 (and it cannot be
changed), so the IP address of PC connected to this WAN interface should be in
the same network segment (10.10.10.X).
3. Input http//10.10.10.10:800 in the address bar of the Web browser (for
example, Internet Explorer) and then press Enter.
The login page is displayed as follows.
4. Input the username and password, and click LOGIN to log in to CH50.
By default, the username is admin and the password is 1234.
5. Click the IP menu at the left side of the page.
The IP Address page is displayed.

6. Set IP Address, Netmask and Gateway for LAN1 at the right side of the page.
LAN1 corresponds to the LAN interface of the device.
7. Click Submit.
CH50 reboots automatically to enable the IP address of the LAN interface. It
takes about two minutes for the whole reboot process.
Use the network cable to connect the LAN interface of CH50 to Local Area
Network, and start CH50.
Logging in to CH50 through the LAN Interface2.2
Users can log in to CH50 through the IE browser (such as IE8 or IE9). The login
process is as follows:
1. Input the IP address for the LAN interface of CH50 in the address bar of the
Web browser, and then press Enter.
2. At the login page, input the username and password, and then click OK.
The original username and password are both admin.

The page is displayed as follows after the login process.
Configuring Templates2.3
After the templates configuration is completed, users select a template and CH50
performs the recording task according to parameters set for the template.
1. Click Templates to display the templates configuration page.
2. Click Add at the right side to open the Template Information dialog box.

3. Set parameters at the General page.
Parameters are described as follows.
Parameter
Description
Device IP
Select a video conference recorder. The IP 127.0.0.1
indicates the current server.
Name
Indicates the name of a template.
Group
Select a user group where the template belongs. If
CH50 uses this template to record files, all files belong
to the user group.
Type
H323: the device is connected to the remote H.323
device.
H323_P: the device is connected to the remote H.323
device and users can set parameters for the pipeline.
H323_MC: the device is connected to the remote
H323_MC device and the media center.
RTSP: the device is worked in coordination with RTSP
encoding box or RTSP IP camera to perform the

SIP: the device receives the SIP protocol data streams.
SIP_P: the device receives the SIP protocol streams
and users can set parameters for the pipeline.
SIP_MC: the device receives the SIP protocol streams
and is connected to the media center.
Record File
Indicates whether recording files are generated.
Unicast
Indicates whether unicast streams are permitted.
Multicast
Indicates whether multicast streams are permitted.
Mixer Mode
Indicates whether the main and secondary streams are
integrated into a single video stream.
If ticked off, a single recording file is generated for both
the main and secondary streams, but the two streams
are displayed in the same window in split-screen mode.
If not ticked off, a single recording file is generated for
both the main and secondary streams, and the two
streams are displayed separately in two different
windows.
Incoming Call
Indicates whether an incoming call of a remote H.323
terminal can trigger the recording and playing task.
Auto Backup
Indicates whether recording files can be automatically
backed up to the third-party FTP server. If ticked off,
recording files will be automatically backed up to the
third-party FTP server.
4. Set parameters for other pages.
When users set Type at the General page, each type has its own page. For
parameter description of each page, please refer to the following tables.

Indicates the bitrate for video and audio streams.
Audio
Indicates whether audio streams are permitted.
Video
Indicates whether video streams are permitted.
Dual Video
Indicates whether dual streams are permitted.
Enable H.239
Indicates whether H.239 dual streams are
permitted.
Audio Codec
Indicates an audio encoding mode.
Video Codec
Indicates a video encoding mode.
Dual Codec
Indicates a dual-stream encoding mode.
Video Size
Indicates the resolution of a video stream.
Dual Size
Indicates the resolution of dual streams.
Parameters of H.323 page are described as follows:

Indicates the media file played for the remote
H.323 terminal.
Remote Addr
Indicates the IP address of the remote MCU, GK or
terminal.
E.164
Indicates the number used by a remote terminal for
registration to the GK netshell.
Call ID
Used to distinguish from the numbers of recording
template.
Force Dual
If ticked off, CH50 opens the dual-stream channel
for the remote MCU, GK or terminal when the
calling is established.
Enable FECC
Indicates the remote control function, allowing the
terminal to play videos on demand through a

1. Click the Files tab to display the file management page.
2. Upload a file.
a) Click Upload at the right side of the page to display the Select files page.
b) Click Add Files and select the file to be uploaded.
c) Click Start Upload.
3. Backup a file.
a) Click Backup at the right side of the page to display the File Backup
System page.
b) Click Backup Options to pop up a Backup Server Options dialog box.

c) Set parameters for the backup server, and click OK.
d) Click at the File List page to backup the selected file to the backup

User Group Management2.6
1. Click the Users tab to display the Users page.
2. Click Group Management at the right side of the page to pop up a Group
Information dialog box.

Click Options ( ) to display the Parameter Option page.
The parameters for GK are described as follows:

Indicates whether registration to GK is enabled.
GKAddress
Indicates the IP address of GK.
GKIdentifier
Indicates the identifier of GK. It is not a required field.
GKPassword
Indicates the registration password of GK. It is not a
required field.
E164ID
Indicates the E164 number that is specified during the
registration to GK.
EnableGKPrefix
Indicates registration to GK by means of the prefix.
Users need to tick off the EndPointTypeMCU check
box.
EndPointTypeMCU
Indicates registration to GK by means of the MCU type.
GKLocalAddress
Indicates the local IP address of the video conference
recorder during registration to GK.
GKNoAdmissionRequest
Indicates whether calling from any terminals is
permitted.

Indicates the default dual-stream codec.
VideoBandwidthPercent
Indicates the percentage of bandwidths occupied
separately by video and dual streams.
FVUInterval
Indicates the interval at which video images are
refreshed. The value is in seconds.
FVUMinInterval
Indicates the minimum interval at which video images are
refreshed forcibly.
NATAddress
Indicates the NAT address of the external network.
