Connecting Your Devices
To connect an Ethernet device to the Internet using your coaxial cable
you will n
eed two MCA110 MoCA Network Adapters, one to connect to your
Broadband Modem/Router and the other to co
nnect to your Ethernet device, two
Ethernet cables, and at least two coaxial cables. For each additional Ethernet
device you want to connect, you will need an MCA110, Ethernet cable and
coaxial cable.
Installation Steps
Connect to Your Broadband Modem/Router
Step 1 - Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into an Ethernet port on your
Broadband Modem/Router. An Ethernet port looks similar to a phone port
but is slightly larger. Plug the other end of this Ethernet cable into the
Ethernet port on the back of one of the MCA110 MoCA Network Adapters
(Device A).
Step 2 - Locate a coaxial cable wall outlet close to your Broadband Modem/
Router. Connect one end of a coaxial cable to the wall outlet and the other
end to the COM port on the back of Device A.
Step 3 - Plug the power adapter for Device A into the DC 5V port on Device
A and into an electrical outlet. Your MCA110 is now broadcasting an
Ethernet signal across the coaxial cable in your location.
Connect to an Ethernet Device
Step 1 - Plug one end of the second
Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on
the back of the second MCA110 MoCA
Network Adapter (Device B). Plug the
other end of this Ethernet cable into
the Ethernet port on the device you
want to connect to the Internet.
Step 3 - Locate a coaxial cable wall
outlet close to the Ethernet device
you want to connect to the Internet.
Connect one end of a coaxial cable
to the wall outlet and the other end
to the COM port on the back of
Device B.
Step 4 - Plug the power adapter into
the DC 5V port on Device B and into an
electrical wall outlet.
If your TV/Set-top Box or another coaxial cable device uses the coaxial cable
outlet you used for either Device A or Device B, you can maintain that coaxial cable
connection by connecting a coaxial cable from your TV/Set-top Box to the CATV port
on the MCA110 MoCA Network Adapter.
Note - Make sure RUN is selected on the RUN/CONFIG switch on the back of each
MCA110. The unit will not operate if CONFIG is selected.
