In order to comply with 18 U.S. Code § 2512 federal law, the
audio recording function is turned o by default on the SC450.
To use this device 100% legally within the USA, you must record
video with audio recording turned o. If you are located in a
country or a part of a government entity where this law does
not apply, you can enable the audio recording function within
the settings menu.
Please be familiar with your country and state surveillance laws
before using this product. RecorderGear products are sold
NOT for illegal use and are sold for their intended legal use
only. RecorderGear will not be held liable for any illegal use of

Key Features

Here are some quick steps to get started with
your SC450 Camera. We recommend reading
this manual entirely before attempting to
operate your device.
A. Installing Batteries
Make sure batteries are installed “+”symbols
facing the same direction. Please refer to image
below;
B. Charging
Before using the SC450 for the rst time, we
recommend giving it a full charge for 4-6
hours (plug included USB power cable into the
back of the device and into a power supply)
For continuous operation, the SC450 can also
operate while charging;
C. Insert Micro SD Card
Remove the bottom battery and insert a Micro
SD card into the SC450 into the Micro SD card
slot; we recommend a class 10 card. (see below);

D. Power On/O
• Power On: Press and hold the Power
button for approximately 4 seconds and
the SC450 will power on;
• Power O: Press and hold the Power
button for approximately 3 seconds and
the SC450 will power o;
E. Set Clock Time/Date
While in the clock mode, press the ‘OK’
button to edit the time. Press the‘OK’ button
continuously to move the edit cursor and use
the ‘-’or ‘+’button to make changes. When you
are done press ESC button to accept changes;

2Entertainment
Menu
The rst screen that appears when the SC450
is powered on is the entertainment menu
which contains the entertainment features &
settings. The entertainment menu display stays
on for about 10 seconds before automatically
switching to the clock display. To access the
entertainment menu at anytime, press the ESC
key.
F. Volume Control
To adjust the volume, while playing back any
audio or video le, press and hold the ‘OK’
button until the volume option comes up then
use the ‘-’or ‘+’buttons to decrease or increase
volume respectively;

Navigation: You can navigate between the
dierent options using the “+” or “-” key.
A. Movie: The SC450 allows you to access and
play video les you have transferred onto your
memory card. It supports AVI/MOV/MKV/RMVB/
MP4 video formats. Use the ‘OK’ button to select
this option. (no customer support provided for
this feature);
B. Music: The SC450 allows you to access and
play audio les you have transferred onto your
memory card. It supports MP3/WMA/WAV/AAC.
Use the ‘OK’ button to select this option. (no
customer support provided for this feature);
C. Photo: This allows you to access and view
photo les you have transferred onto your
memory card. Use the‘OK’ button to select this
option. (no customer support provided for this
feature);
D. Radio: This allows you to listen to the local
radio. Use the ‘OK’button to access this option.
Press and hold the ‘-’ or ‘+’ button to scan for
stations;
E. Clock: This option allows you to go to the
clock screen. Use the‘OK’ button to access this
option;
F. Explorer: This allows you to access readable
les stored on your memory card. Use the ‘OK’
button to select this option;
G. Setting: This allows you to change the
Language of the SC450, get product Information
and restore your device to factory settings. Use
the ‘OK’button to access this option;

3Surveillance Menu
This secret menu contains the surveillance
features. To access this menu,
• Go to the entertainment menu display by
pressing ESC at anytime;
• Press and hold the “-” and “+” together for
about 3 seconds;
Surveillance Options:You can navigate between
the dierent options using the “+” or “-” key and
press the ‘OK’ button to select.
A. DV: Video Recording;
B. Camera: Photo Taking;
C. Explorer: To view les on your device, navigate
to the ‘Explorer’ icon and press ‘OK’ button;
D. Settings: This allows you to change the

video recording or photo settings. To edit the
settings, navigate to the‘setting’icon and press
the ‘OK’ button;
4Video Recording
A. Turn on your device or go to the
entertainment menu display by pressing ESC
at anytime;
B. Press and hold the “-”and “+”together for
about 3 seconds to access the surveillance
menu;
C. Navigate to the ‘DV’ icon using the‘- or +’
buttons and press the‘OK’ button;
D. The SC450 counts down from 10 to 1
to begin video recording; to stop
recording, press the ‘OK’ button;

A. Turn on your device or go to the
entertainment menu display by pressing ESC
at anytime;
B. Press and hold the “-” and “+” together for
about 3 seconds to access the surveillance
menu;
C. Navigate to the ‘Camera’ icon and press the
‘OK’ button;
D. Press ‘‘OK’’ again to take a photo
(Repeat as required);
A. DV Setting(Video Setting): This allows you to
edit the video settings. Here you can edit the:
• DV Mode(Recording mode): Use
the ‘OK’button to choose between
Normal(continuous) and Motion
detection recording;
• Display Pixel(Disp Pixel): Use the ‘OK’
button to choose between 720, 1080, and
480;
• Frame Rate: Use the‘OK’ button to choose
between 30fps and 10fps;
• Time Stamp On/O option: This controls
if time/date appears on saved les. Use
the ‘OK’button to choose between On
and O;

• Cycle Record On/O option(Loop
Recording): When set to ‘On’, the oldest
les on the memory card are recorded
over. Use the ‘OK’button to choose
between On and O;
• Video Segment: Saved les are broken
into time segments. Use the ‘OK’button
to choose between 60min, 30min,10min,
and 5min recording segments;
• IR Light(Infrared): With this, the SC450
can record in low to no light. Use the‘OK’
button to choose between Auto, On and
O;
• Voice(Sound Recording): This controls if
the SC450 records sound or not. Use the
‘OK’ button to choose between On and
O;
• Auto Record ON/O option: This controls
if the SC450 automatically starts recording
whenever in DV mode. Use the ‘OK’ button
to choose between On and O;
B. PIC Settings(Picture Setting): This allows you
to edit the picture settings. You can edit the:
• Photo Pixel: Use the ‘OK’ button to choose
between 100, 200, 300 and 500 pixels;
• Time Stamp: Use the ‘OK’ button to choose
IR Light(Infrared): Use the‘OK’ button to
choose between Auto, On, and O;
