• Neverattemptto repairormodify yourinstrument.Dismantling your
product,otherthan forthe purpose ofreplacing batteries,may cause
damage thatwillnotbe covered underthe manufacturer's warranty.
Servicing should only be provided by an authorized service center.
• Do notpointthe thermalimager(with orwithoutthe lens cover)at
intensive energy sources as this can damage the thermalimager.
• Do notuse the thermalimagerin a temperature higherthan 122°F (50°C).
• Always charge the battery between 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C).

• Clean the case with a damp cloth and a diluted soap solution.
• Do notuse abrasives,isopropylalcohol,orsolvents to clean the
instrument,lens orscreen.
• Do notclean the infrared lens too vigorously,this can damage the
anti-reective coating.
• Store the thermalimagerin cooland dry environment.
• Please use the correctemissivity to obtain accurate temperature
measurements.
• To ensure accuracy,please letthe instrumentwarm up for10 minutes
before taking a measurementifithas notbeen used fora long time.
• When being charged,the internaltemperature ofthe productwillrise,which
willlead to inaccurate temperature measurement,itis notrecommended
to take measurements during orrightaftercharging the instrument.
• The inherenttemperature driftofthe sensormay occasionally cause
inaccurate measurements.In this case,press the button underthe
temperature measurementinterface to "Calibrate" the sensor.

E mis s iv ity
This thermalimagermeasures infrared energy from the surface ofthe
objectand uses this data to calculate an estimated temperature value.
Surfaces thatare good atradiating energy (high emissivity),the emissivity
factoris ≥0.90.Shiny surfaces orunpainted metals are notgood at
radiating energy (low emissivity)have an emissivity of<0.6.To more
accurately measure materials with a low emissivity,an emissivity correction
is necessary.Emissivity is setdirectly as a value orfrom a listofemissivity
values forsome common materials.

Saving, Viewing & Delet ing Images
While in normaloperation,multiple images can be saved to the Micro SD card.
1. To save an image,pullthe trigger.
2. To display a saved image,press the button to enterthe saved
pictures gallery.
3. Use the and buttons to scrollthrough the listofsaved pictures.
4. Press the SET button to enterthe saved picture toolbaras indicated
by .
5. Use the and buttons to select
between "Image Details" to view allrelevant
information on the saved image ordelete
saved image .
6. Press the SET button to conrm yourselection.
7. If"Image Details" is selected,the display will
appearas shown in Figure A.
8. Press the button to return to the saved
pictures menu.
9. If"Delete an Image" is selected,use the
and buttons to selectbetween "Yes" or
"No" as shown in Figure B.
10. Press the SET button to conrm yourselection.
11. Press the button to exitthe saved pictures
menu and resume normaloperation.

1. Connectthe R2160 via the included cable to a USB porton yourPC
orinto a walloutletusing a USB PowerAdapter(notincluded)to
charge the Li-ion battery.
Note: The metermustremain powered offorsafely removed from hardware
ash drive in orderto properly charge via the USB porton yourPC.
2. Charge the meteruntilthe battery indicatorappears fulland remove
the charging cable when done.
