REI’s newest Elite Series of Coach specific Audio/Video
equipment is designed to bring state-of-the-art mobile multi-media experiences to
the coach industry.
The
Elite Series offers many enhancements over and above what
has previously been offered in the industry.
Benefits include:

• Enhanced audio capabilities, including up to four audio channels with
dedicated subwoofer output.

Digital Video Player, DSS Satellite, Digital Satellite Radio, Wireless
Microphone, GPS, and various speaker enhancements.

ELITE Audio/Video System:
The enhanced version of the system provide the customer with the most flexibility
and ease of installation,
Included is a component mount rack that provides for a convenient organized area
for the major equipment to be housed. Again, this reduces installation time and
provides increased area in the parcel rack and makes servicing easier and allows
for a custom fit and trim.
At this level a variety of popular options are shown to provide the customer with
increased value and a greater level of satisfaction. Enhancements such as; a
second audio amplifier with subwoofers and separate tweeters, DVD/MP3 player,
CD Changer, wireless microphone, and a Scenic View camera provide seamless
upgrades that offer the customer the latest multimedia experience and enjoyment
that has become expected in the industry.

Main Control Unit (MCU):
The Main Control Unit is the central command and control node for the entire
system. It is housed in a one half Din chassis for mounting where space is an
issue.
The custom control panel, along with the graphic display, allows the user to
operate and monitor all aspects of the system.
This unit minimizes cable connections by using an industrial RS-485
differential serial communication link. In doing so, bulky and expensive
harnesses are eliminated, allowing a single connection that interfaces to the
system’s peripheral equipment.
The unit is organized into four distinct areas, these are:
The Level section which is comprised of an up and down button along with a
select. This area is used to set system operating parameters such as setting
passenger audio levels and accessing menu features.
The Passenger Section which is used to select the active audio channel for the
cabin area. The selections include VIDEO, RADIO, and AUX.
The Function section which is used to command and control peripheral
equipment such as a CD changer, DVD player, VCP, and a camera system.
This section has controls for DISC, Play/Stop (>|), Reverse (<<), and Forward
(>>).
The Driver section which controls the cockpit audio levels and selections. It
is comprised of an UP, DOWN, RAD, and AUX button.
The Main Control Unit can function as a stand alone processor or when more
features and options are desired it works in conjunction with the System
Processing Unit to provide enhanced features.

System Processing Unit (SPU):
The System Processing Unit provides enhanced features above and beyond
what the base MPU provides.
These include:
• DVD interface.
• Multiple Audio Amplifier upgrade.
• Dedicated Subwoofer output.
• Independent Driver’s amplifier.
• Wireless Microphone input and power connection.
• CD Changer interface and control.
• Auxiliary audio channel used in conjunction with a DVD/MP3 player.
• Seat Audio interface for PA and source channels.
• Auxiliary power connections for additional equipment.
• RS-485 communication node.
• Six channel video output distribution amplifier.
• 2 channel video/audio input, selectable A/B switch via the MPU.
• Integrated solid-state 12V and 24V power switching for up to six video
monitors with short circuit protection.
The SPU provides for a centralized point of connection for the main peripheral
equipment within the system which allows for a simpler install and eliminates
excessive wire harnessing.
The SPU also allows the customer the flexibility to upgrade and enhance their
system at any time.
