Wireless Dongle Kit (PN 15171) Contains:
Welcome to the Reichert®Phoroptor®VRx Wireless Dongle Kit 15171
allowing Bluetooth®wireless connectivity between Phoroptor VRx or the
SightChek™and a LensChek™or OptoChek™.
NOTE: This document will familiarize you with your new accessory. To use this
Wireless Dongle you must rst congure it to communicate with the Phoroptor VRx
or SightChek. Please refer to the Phoroptor VRx Digital Refraction System User’s
Guide (16241-101) or the SightChek Digital Phoroptor User’s Guide (16290-101) for
complete installation, conguration, and compliance information. To obtain a copy of
these User’s Guides, please contact Reichert, your Reichert authorized dealer, or you
may download it from the product page at www.reichert.com. Actual components may

Wireless Dongle Kit conguration options:
Some Wireless Dongle Kits will connect directly to an instrument using
only an Adapter Set conguration, while other Wireless Dongle Kits will
connect to an instrument using only an Extension Cable conguration.
In some instances a Wireless Dongle Kit can connect to an instrument
using either conguration. For those installations it is up to the user to
decide whether you prefer to connect directly using the Adapter Set or if
you prefer to use the Extension Cable to hide the Wireless Dongle from
view behind a counter or under an instrument table.
Follow the instructions for your specic instrument.
NOTE: Your Wireless Dongle Kit may be designed to connect in multiple
congurations, so you may not use all the parts included in this kit for
your specic installation.
Connecting LensChek or OptoChek:
Both the LensChek Digital Lensometer and OptoChek Auto Refractor/
Keratometer can use either the Adapter Set or the Extension Cable
conguration to connect to the Wireless Dongle Kit.
The serial port (A) located on the back of the of the LensChek and the
side of the OptoChek, is where the Wireless Dongle will connect. The
5V Power Source (B) is where the Wireless Dongle will connect and be
powered by the 5V Power Adapter cord.

Connecting LensChek or OptoChek: (Continued from inside)
The Adapter Set conguration can be used for a direct connection to both
the LensChek and OptoChek, while the Extension Cable conguration
can be used to run the Wireless Dongle to a location hidden from view,
such as under an instrument table. Cable Tie Mounts and Cable Ties
are provided to secure any cables or hide them from view. A Hook and
Loop Fastener is provided to adhere the Wireless Dongle to the desired
location.
