Photos of the CFX15S were used in
these instructions. The procedure for
installing these ampliers into CFX12S
and CFX18S subwoofers is the same.
Step 1
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the
screws holding the connector plate in
place and carefully remove the connec-
tor plate. Save the screws. You’ll need
them to install the amplier.
Step 2.
Disconnect the white 2-pin connector
from the connector plate by squeezing
the sides of the connector and pulling.
Step 3
Set the connector plate aside and save
it in case you ever need to switch the
subwoofer back to a non-powered unit
Step 4
If you are installing a PF1-500, set the
slide switch on the top of the amplier
case to “100 Hz Filter”. to activate the
amplier’s electronic crossover network
(100 Hz lo-pass lter) and protective
circuitry.
Connect the white 2-pin connector to
the amplier.
Step 5.
If you are installing a PF1-500R locate the
Crossover Network and the white 4-pin con-
nector that connects it to the woofer. You will
nd the crossover attached to the bottom of
the cabinet.
Step 6
Disconnect the white 4-pin connector from the
Crossover Network by squeezing the sides of
the connector and pulling.
Step 7.
Connect the white 4-pin connector to the
amplier. Make sure that both sides of the
connector latch into place.
Note that this bypasses the Crossover Net-
work and it no longer will have any effect on
the subwoofer’s performance. The output of
the amplier is now connected directly to the
woofer and RHAON is now in control of the
subwoofer’s performance.
Step 8.
Carefully slide the amplier into the cabinet
and use the Phillips head screws to secure it
in place.
