Funktion
Das digitale Vakuummessgerät VACMASTER dient zur Messung
des Absolutdruckes im Bereich von 1 bis 1.600 mbar. Der Druck
wird unabhängig vom äusseren Luftdruck gemessen.
Das Vakuummessgerät zeigt den Druck wahlweise in mbar, Torr
oder hPa im Display an. Während eines Evakuierungsvorganges
können Messwerte abgespeichert werden. Während eines
Evakuierungsvorganges können Messwerte abgespeichert werden.
Im Messwertspeicher werden der letzte minimale Druck, der letzte
maximale Druck und bis zu 5 Zwischenwerte gespeichert. (Die Spei-
cherung der Zwischenwerte kann vom Bediener abgeschaltet wer-
den). Dadurch eignet sich das Messgerät zur Überwachung von
z.B Vakuum-verpackungsmaschinen, es wird direkt in der Verpackung bzw. in der Vakuumkammer platziert.
Bei eingeschalteter Zwischenwertspeicherung (siehe 4. Parameter) werden unterhalb eines Schwellwertes von 800
mbar maximal fünf Druckwerte, welche länger als 3s unverändert anstehen ( innerhalb eines Bandes von ± 1,5% des
Istwertes, mindestens jedoch ± 2 mbar ) der Reihe nach abgespeichert. Falls die Speicherung eines Wertes erfolgt ist,
kann eine neue Speicherung erst wieder bei Druckwerten ausserhalb eines Bandes von ± 1,5% des zuletzt
gespeichterten Wertes, mindestens jedoch ± 2 mbar, aktiviert werden. Die gespeicherten Werte können der Reihe nach
im Display zur Anzeige gebracht werden.
Bedienung
●Durch einmaliges Drücken der MODE-Taste schaltet sich das Gerät ein und befindet sich automatisch im „AUTO-
OFF“ – Modus. (Pfeil nach unten in der Anzeige). Das Gerät schaltet sich nach ca. 5s ab, wenn keine Taste
betätigt wird.
●Nochmaliges Drücken der MODE-Taste: Abfrage des 1. gespeicherten Wertes P1, wechselnd wird P1 und der
zugehörige Messwert angezeigt. (Gerät schaltet nach 5s ohne Tastendruck zurück in „AUTO-OFF“ – Modus)
●Nochmaliges Drücken der MODE-Taste: Abfrage des 2. gespeicherten Wertes P2
●Nochmaliges Drücken der MODE-Taste: Abfrage des 3. gespeicherten Wertes P3
●Nochmaliges Drücken der MODE-Taste: Abfrage des 4. gespeicherten Wertes P4

Mit erneutem Druck auf die MODE-Taste werden die gespeicherten Werte gelöscht, das Messgerät ist bereit für den
Messzyklus (Anzeige Pfeil nach oben und nach unten in der Anzeige).
Das Gerät kann nun in eine Vakuumkammer oder ein zur Vakuumverpackung vorbereitetes Behältnis verbracht wer-
den.
Achtung - Bei automatischen Verpackungslinien darauf achten, dass in der Vakuumkammer eine freie Höhe von
mindestens 45 mm verbleibt.
Zerstörungsgefahr.
Nach Ende der Verpackung zeigt das Gerät den momentanen Druck (in der Vakuumverpackung) an. Wie zuvor be-
schrieben, lassen sich die gespeicherten Zwischenwerte abrufen, und das Gerät für den nächsten Zyklus vorbereiten.
Um dazu wieder in den AUTO-OFF-Modus zu gelangen, sind im Memory Modus zwei Tastendrücke kurz hintereinan-
der erforderlich.
●Unter Verwendung des Schlauchanschlusses kann das Vakuummessgerät zur Vakuummessung an Anlagen und
Pumpen genutzt werden.
●Das Gerät schaltet sich im AUTO-OFF-Modus nach ca. 20s selbstständig ab.

Parameter
Wird bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät die MODE-Taste betätigt und festgehalten, dann schaltet das Gerät nach 5s in den Systemmodus.
Mit jedem Tastendruck werden nacheinander die einstellbaren Parameter angezeigt:
unit - zur Wahl der Druckeinheit; mbar, Torr oder hPa
log - on, zur Speicherung von Zwischenwerten oder off, wenn nur minimale- und maximale Werte gespeichert werden sollen
th - Einstellung der Halbzeit x sec. wert wird gespeichert, wenn er sich innerhalb x sec. nicht ändert
cal - nur zur Kalibrierung, mit Tastendruck überspringen
IR - on, zur Aktivierung der IR-Schnittstelle (Option) oder off, zur Deaktivierung der IR-Schnittstelle (Option)
hour - cont, Gerät schaltet sich im Messmodus nicht ab oder xh, Gerät schaltet sich im Messmodus nach xh ab
Wird innerhalb 5s eine Taste betätigt, wird im Display der zu dem entsprechenden Parameter eingestellte Wert angezeigt.
Mit jedem Tastendruck werden die zuvor beschriebenen Alternativen gewechselt.
Nach 5s ohne Tastendruck schaltet das Gerät in den Messmodus.
Im AUTO-OFF-Modus (Pfeil nach unten in der Anzeige) schaltet sich das Gerät nach ca. 20s ab.
Batteriewechsel
Erscheint im Display links unten das Batterie-Symbol, ist die Batterie verbraucht und muss ausgewechselt werden. Die letzte Messung sollte zur
Sicherheit noch einmal durchgeführt werden.
Das Batteriefach befindet sich an der Geräteunterseite.
Bei Verwendung eines Akkus kann dieser im eingesetzten Zustand mit einem handelsüblichen Ladegerät geladen werden.
Achtung ! Auf korrekte Ladespannung – 9V Gleichspannung – achten
Kalibrierung
Das Messgerät sollte spätestens alle 6 Monate in unserem Messlabor kalibriert werden.

Function
The VACMASTER digital vacuum meter measures the absolute
pressure within a range of 1 and 1,600 mbar. The pressure is meas-
ured independent of the ambient air pressure.
The vacuum meter indicates pressure digitally on the display ei-
ther in mbar, torr or hPa, optional. Measured values can be stored
during the evacuation process. The last minimum pressure, the last
maximum pressure and up to 5 intermediate values are stored in a
memory (the user can switch off the storage of intermediate val-
ues). The above features make the meter suitable for monitoring,
e.g. vacuum packaging machines.
For this purpose the meter is placed directly in the package or in the vacuum chamber. When intermediate value storage
is switched on (see 4. Parameters) a maximum of five pressure values below a threshold of 800 mbar which are
maintained unchanged for longer than a pre-selected rest period ( adjustable in a range from 3 to 30 sec. ) (within a band
of +1.5% of the actual value, but at least +2 mbar) are successively stored. In the event that a value has been stored
then renewed storage is only possible if pressure values are activated outside the band ± 10 mbar of the last stored value.
The stored values can be displayed consecutively by the display.
Operation
●Press the MODE key once to switch on the meter and automatically set it in “AUTO-OFF” mode (arrow points
downwards on the display). The meter automatically turns itself off after 5 sec. if no key is actuated.
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the 1st stored value P1; alternating display of P1 and the
corresponding measured value (meter is automatically returned to “AUTO-OFF” mode after 5 sec. if no key is
depressed)
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the 2nd stored value P2
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the 3rd stored value P3
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the 4th stored value P4
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the 5th stored value P5
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the last maximum value (arrow points upwards on the
display)
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: Interrogation of the last minimum value (arrow points downwards on the
display)
●Renewed depression of the MODE key: CLR appears on the display!
Renewed depression of the MODE key deletes the stored values, and the meter is ready for the measuring cycle
(arrow points upwards and downwards on the display).
The meter can then be placed in a vacuum chamber or a container prepared for vacuum packaging.
Warning - With automatic packaging lines ensure that there is a free clearance of at least 45 mm in the vacuum
chamber.
Danger of destruction.
When packing has been completed the meter will indicate the current pressure (in the vacuum package). As described
above, the stored intermediate values can be called, and the meter can be prepared for the next cycle.
Therefore two key depressions in quick succession while in memory mode are necessary to return to the AUTO-OFF
mode.
●The tube connection enables the use of the meter for vacuum measurements in installations and pumps. To avoid
an error of measurement use short tube.
●When in AUTO-OFF mode the meter is automatically switched off after approx. 20 sec.

Parameters
If the MODE key is actuated and held down while the meter is switched off, the meter will be switched to system mode after 5 sec.
The set parameters are displayed successively with each key depression:
unit - To select the pressure unit: mbar, torr or hPa
log - ON: to store intermediate values or OFF: if only minimum and maximum values are to be stored
th - adjust of rest period (x sec.) till value is stored
cal - only for calibration, press key again
IR ON: to activate the IR interface (optional) or OFF: to deactivate the IR interface (optional)
hour - cont: The meter does not switch itself off in measuring mode or xh: The meter switches itself off in measuring mode after xh
The value set for the given parameter will be displayed if the key is not actuated within 5 sec.
Then the above described alternatives are changed with each key depression.
The meter is switched again to measuring mode after 5 sec. without a key being depressed.
In AUTO-OFF mode (arrow points downwards on the display) the meter is switched off after approx. 20 sec.
Exchanging batteries
The appearance of the battery-symbol in the bottom left hand corner of the display indicates that the battery is exhausted and must be ex-
changed. To ensure measuring accuracy the last measurement should be repeated once again.
A rechargeable battery may be recharged while built in.
Warning Be care to charge with correct power supply (9 V direct-current)
Calibration
The meter should be calibrated in our measuring laboratory at the latest every 6 months. For calibration a special pumping unit is necessary.
