Introduction
This manual provides the informaon needed to congure, operate,
and maintain the Rimage Copy Staon in conjuncon with the Rimage
Professional 5400N system. The terms ‘system’ and ‘autoloader’ may be
used throughout this manual to refer to the 5400N. The term ‘printer’ is use
to refer to the integrated Everest 400 printer.
For informaon specic to the Professional 5400N refer to the Rimage
Professional 3400 and 5400N User Guide found at www.rimage.com/
support. From the Support menu select: Professional Series > 5400N > User
Manuals tab.
Important! Your Rimage Copy Staon and Professional 5400N system may
not look exactly like the model featured in this user guide.

About the Copy Staon
The Copy Staon is part of the Rimage Soluons series of products. The
Copy Staon consists of a touch screen monitor, a Rimage 5400N with
integrated Everest 400 printer and an embedded control center (PC). There
is also an aached camera and lighng system for copying disc labels.

PC, refer to the Rimage Advanced Setup (Networking) Guide available at
www.rimage.com/support.
Unpacking and Setup Instrucons
Installaon instrucons are included with the Copy Staons’s touch

Operating the Copy Station
This secon provides the informaon needed to operate your system.
For details on loading and powering on the system, refer to the Rimage
Professional 3400 and 5400N User Guide found on the User Guide Disc that
shipped with your Professional 5400N system.
Load the Bins
Make sure that the autoloader bins have the proper discs in them: The
default bin conguraon is opmal for Copy Staon performance.
Bin 1 - CDs
Bin 2 - DVDs
Bin 3 - Blu-ray Discs
External Bin - Output/Reject
1. Open the autoloader door.
Tip: The system pauses any me the door is opened. Close the door to
resume the system operaon.
2. Place up to 50 CDs in Bin 1.
3. Place up to 50 DVDs in Bin 2.
4. Place up to 50 BDs in Bin 3.
5. Close the autoloader door.
Power On the System
1. Press the power switch on the rear of the 5400N The system powers on,
including the integrated printer.

2. On the front of the 5400N, press the PC power buon to power on the
embedded PC.
The Copy Staon is powered on.

Set the User Opons
Select to print a label on the copies and use a disc labels already provided in
the Copy Staon.
1. On the Main Menu, select User Opons. The User Opons
screen displays.
2. Select the checkboxes of the opons you want to use.
• Print labels on copies - When selected, prints the photograph taken
of the master disc label on each copy made.
• Use emedded labels - When selected, the Copy Staon uses a
preset label instead of a photograph. This opon is not available
unless Print labels on copies is selected.
3. Select OK. The Sengs screen closes and the Copy Staon is ready
for use.
Reset the Bin Count
Anyme you add discs to the bins, you need to reset the disc count.
1. On the Main Menu, select Rimage System .
2. Select Bins and Media .
3. Select Check Bins. The autoloader’s li arm moves down into each bin
and counts the discs. When it completes, the correct number of discs
displays.
4. When the bins are checked, select twice to return to the Main
Menu.
The Copy Staon is ready for use.

Check Hardware Devices
View the hardware devices running in the Copy Staon.
1. On the Main Menu, select Rimage System . The Rimage
System screen displays.
2. Select Devices. A list of all devices working within the Copy
Staon displays for viewing.
3. Select twice to return to the System Menu.
Copy a Disc
When the Copy Staon powers on, the touch screen displays the Copy
Staon Main Menu:
The Copy Staon is sll inializing and no discs can be copied. When the
inializaon completes, the Copy Discs icon becomes acve.

1. Select Copy Discs . The Copy Setup screen displays.
2. Use the up and down arrows or the numeric keypad to select the
number of disc copies you want to create.
3. Select Start. The system prepares for disc copying. A noce displays
when the system is ready.
4. When the noce displays, follow the prompts to load the master disc.
a. Open the front door.
b. Place the master disc on the open printer tray.
c. Close the front door.
The copying process begins.
Tips:
• Throughout the process, the job status displays on the touch screen.
• Select Stop at any me to cancel the copying process.
The master disc’s label is photographed by the integrated camera. This
image is printed on each copy of the disc that is made. The master disc
is then placed in Recorder 1. When the data on the master disc has been
read, the system places the disc in the external bin. A blank disc is placed in
Recorder 2. Aer the content has been recorded, the disc is placed on the
printer tray and the label is printed on the disc. As each copy completes, the
new disc is placed in the output bin.
When the process is complete a message displays.
The message indicates where the master disc was placed and where the
copied disc or discs were placed.
Select Return to Main Menu. The Main Menu screen displays. The copy job
is complete.

Maintaining the Copy Station
This secon provides maintenance informaon for the Rimage Copy Staon.
Important! For opmum performance, keep the Copy Staon in a clean,
dust-free environment.
Overview
Regular preventave maintenance of your system can help to ensure error-
free recordings and clean printed labels. Maintenance also involves cleaning
the system.
For informaon on autoloader and printer maintenance, refer to the Rimage
Professional 3400 and 5400N User Guide that was included with your
autoloader.
Cauonary Informaon
nCauon: To avoid damaging the Copy Stauon during maintenance:
• Never use oils, silicone, or other lubricants on any part of the system.
• Use only non-abrasive cleaners to wipe down the surfaces of your
system.
• Use only a damp coon cloth to wipe o the touch screen.
• Never use cleaners to clean the embedded PC.
• Avoid pouring cleaners directly onto the autoloader. Instead, apply
the cleaner a clean, lint-free cloth.
Maintain the Touch Screen Monitor
When dust or ngerprints appear on the touch screen:
1. Wipe the screen with a coon cloth dampened with water
2. Dry any excess moisture from the screen with a dry coon cloth.
Calibrate the Touch Screen Monitor
Tip: To access the Windows Desktop on the Copy Staon, touch and hold the
Main Menu tle at the top of the touch screen.
In some cases you may need to run the Rimage Copy Staon Recovery Disc.
This process deletes all les and informaon stored on the system and loads
the system’s default conguraon.Calibrang the touch screen is part of this
process.
Important! Do not aempt to use this ulity without permission from your
system administrator.
1. From the Windows Desktop, select Start > Programs > Touchkit >
4PtsCal to access the Calibraon Ulity the calibraon screen displays:
2. Touch and hold the unitl it stops blinking and you hear a beep.
The icon moves to the next corner.
3. Repeat Step 2 for all four corners. When all corners have been veried,
the calibraon starts. When it completes, the ulity exits and the
desktop displays.
4. Select to start the Copy Staon program.

Change the Bin Conguraon
While the Copy Staon is congured for opmal performance, under some
circumstances the bin conguraon may need to be changed to accomodate
dierent discs. The bin conguraon should only be done by a
system administrator.
Refer to the Rimage System Manager Online Help or WebRSM Online Help
for bin conguraon instruons.
Calibrate the Camera
For informaon on calibrang and focusing the aached camera, refer to
the Calibrate the Disc Imaging Camera instrucons included with your Copy
Staon.

Resolving Copy Station Errors
Several error messages could display during the copying process. Most
are easily resolved. If you cannot resolve an error, contact your system
administrator or Rimage Technical Support.
Mismatched Media Error
This media error can display if the wrong type of disc is loaded in the bins.
1. Make sure that Bins 1, 2 and 3 contain discs.
2. Make sure that the correct type of discs are in the correct bins. Refer to
the Load the Bins secon on page 4 for correct bin conguraon.
3. Select Retry.
4. Check the bin count. Refer to the Reset the Bin Count secon on page 5
for instrucons.
Clamping Error
A clamping error could display if the master disc is not siing properly on
the printer tray.
1. Make sure that the disc is set in the indented poron of the printer tray.
2. Select Retry.
Copy Staon Unavailable Error
The Copy Staon could be unavilable because another job is already running
or a publishing job was submied from a remote user. If you receive this
error wait unl the current job or jobs complete, then submit your copy job
