4. Tips for comfortable position
To achieve the best level of comfort please try the following steps.
a) Whilst seated in the chair, adjust the height of the chair to achieve
a 90oangle of the legs. The feet shall have the whole sole against
the ground during the adjustment.
b) Adjust the seat and backrest to a comfortable position.
c) If necessary, fine-tune the height of the seat.
5. Saddle chairs
To sit on a saddle chair is different from sitting on a regular chair. Place
yourself beside the chair. Lift the leg closest to the chair over the seat
and sit down.
Be careful when lifting the leg over the seat, the chair can be
pushed away. Attempt to be seated traditionally, which is from the
front, may result in the chair rolling away and causing personal
injury.
A saddle chair should not be moved with the front forward. Instead, the
chair is suitable to be moved sideways or backwards.
5.1 Adjusting the correct seating position
The seat is adjustable in height with hand or foot control. Some chairs
also have the option to have the seat tilted.
When an optimal ergonomic position appears shall the chair feel
comfortable and a 135oangle is created between the thighs and upper
body.
The legs should be relaxed, and the feet shall rest steady on the floor,
not hanging in the air. Normally is the height of the seat changed
250-400mm upwards compared to a regular office chair.

To achieve optimal seating position:
a) Raise the chair so the feet are hanging in the air
b) Let your leg and pelvis relax and stretch for some minute, which
the gravity takes care of automatically
c) Lower the chair until the heels touch the floor
5.2 Tilt angle and width adjustment
Some chairs are equipped with tilt and width adjustement function. Under
the seat there is a lever for the tilt function. Push the lever up towards the
seat and choose suitable angle of the seat.
The width of a chair with this function can be adjusted by a lever which
unlocks the halves.
Viewed from behind, push the lever to the right to unlock the halves.
Adjust and lock by pushing the lever back to its original position.
6. Adjusting the foot control
If the foot control does not work satisfactorily, it may need to be adjusted.
The two most common causes and actions are:
a) If the chair cannot be adjusted in height with the foot control at all
then adjust the screw clockwise until function is restored, see picture
below.

b) If the chair collapse under load, even if the foot control is not being
used, then adjust the screw counter clockwise until function is
restored, see picture below.
7. Replacing the gas spring
All Rini chairs can normally be equipped with gas springs with different
height span; low, medium and high. To change the gas spring a rubber
or plastic hammer is needed. If the gas spring is stuck there are some
special tool that can be ordered from Rini, see picture below.
First turn the chair upside down and hold it slightly above the ground.
Lift the chair in the gas spring and hit lightly with the hammer against the
metal chassis under the seat.
Loosen with a
10mm wrench
and adjust with
hex wrench.
