operating the equipment. Save these
instructions.
Indicates a hazardous situation which,
if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
To reduce the risks of re or explosion,
electrical shock and the injury to
persons, read and understand all
instructions included in this manual. Be
familiar with the controls and proper
usage of the equipment.
WARNING - To reduce the risk
of re or explosion:
1. Do not spray ammable or combustible
materials near an open ame, pilot lights
or sources of ignition such as hot objects,
cigarettes, motors, electrical equipment and
electrical appliances. Avoid creating sparks
from connecting and disconnecting power
cords.
2. For use with only water-based or mineral
spirit-type materials with a minimum ash point
of 100ºF (38ºC) — Do not spray or clean with
liquids having a ash point of less than 100ºF
(38ºC). Flash point is the temperature at which
a uid can produce enough vapor to ignite.
3. Verify that all containers and collection systems
are grounded to prevent static discharge.
4. Do not use a paint or solvent containing
halogenated hydrocarbons. Such as chlorine,
bleach mildewcide, methylene chloride and
trichloroethane. They are not compatible with
aluminum. Contact the coating supplier about
compatibility of material with aluminum.
5. Keep spray area well ventilated. Keep a good
supply of fresh air moving through the area
to keep the air within the spray area free from
accumulation of ammable vapors. Keep pump
assembly in well ventilated area. Do not spray
pump assembly.
6. Do not smoke in the spray area.
7. Do not operate light switches, engines, or
similar spark producing products in the spray
area.
8. Keep area clean and free of paint or solvent
containers, rags, and other ammable materials.
9. Know the contents of the paint and solvents
being sprayed. Read all Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS) and container labels provided
with the paints and solvents. Follow the paint
and solvent manufacture’s safety instructions.
10. Fire extinguisher equipment shall be present
and working.

indoors.
3. Keep electrical cord plug and spray gun trigger
free from paint and other liquids. Never hold
the cord at plug connections to support the
cord. Failure to observe may result in an
electrical shock.
Important Electrical
Information
Use only an extension cord that will accept the
plug on the product. Make sure your extension
cord is in good condition. When using an extension
cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the
current your product will draw. An undersized cord
will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of
power and overheating. A 14 AWG minimum cord
is recommended. Outdoor extension cords should
be used with outdoor use products and are surface
marked with sux letter “W” and with a tag stating
“Suitable for Use Outdoors”. The connection of the
cord should be kept dry and o the ground.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. Do not modify the
plug in any way. When servicing, only use identical
service parts. Contact WAGNER for a replacement
cordset.
IMPORTANT: Household use only. Intended
for indoor/outdoor use ONLY with materials
having ashpoint above 100ºF (38ºC).
Servicing of a double-
insulated product
In a double-insulated product, two systems of
insulation are provided instead of grounding. No
grounding means is provided on a double-insulated
product, nor should a means for grounding be
added to the product. Servicing of a double-
insulated product requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system, and should be done only
by qualied service personnel. Replacement parts
for a double-insulated product must be identical to
those parts in the product.

*Needle Selection
The size of spray needle you use depends upon
your spray project and material you plan to use.
1.5 mm Needle
The 1.5 mm needle is great for ne nishing and
small surface projects. The 1.5 mm needle leaves a
smooth nish and is ideal for woodworking, small
decks and fences, craft projects, cabinets, furniture
and trim.
2.5 mm Needle
The 2.5 mm needle is great for thicker materials
and broad surface coverage. The 2.5 mm needle is
ideal for sheds, decks, fences and interior walls.

Material Preparation
Note: Material to be sprayed may need to be strained
to remove any impurities in the paint which may clog
the system. Impurities in the paint will give poor
performance and a poor finish.
Thinning the material
Thinning the spray material results in faster spraying, a
better nish and less material usage.
• Thin chalk, milk, latex and other thicker decorative
paints with water
• Oil-based materials need to be thinned with mineral
spirits (use about half as much as water).
• Transparent/semi-transparent stains, clear topcoats,
urethanes, and lacquers do not typically require
thinning.
Note: Never exceed the thinning advice given by the
coating manufacturer.
Do not thin with materials that have
a ashpoint below 100°F (38°C). The
material ashpoint should be shown on
the material container.
1. Stir the spraying material thoroughly.
2. Unscrew the container from the spray gun.
3. After the material has been properly thinned and
strained, ll the container to desired level.

any part of the body.
To Assemble
IMPORTANT: Make sure the power cord is
unplugged.
1. Insert the foam seal and pickup tube into the intake
opening.
2. Align the suction tube -
A. If you are going to be spraying in a horizontal or
downward direction, the angled end of the pickup
tube should be pointing toward the front of the
gun.
B. If you are going to be spraying in an horizontal or
upward direction, the angled end of the pickup
tube should be pointing toward the rear of the
gun.
Note: Make sure the pickup tube is inserted as far as it
will go to ensure a tight t.
3. After lling with spray material, carefully screw the cup
back onto the spray gun assembly. Tighten rmly.

Controls
Material Flow Control
+
-
The material ow dial controls the amount of spray material
that is sprayed from the spray gun.
Set the material volume by turning the dial on the back of the
spray gun.
Tip: Spraying with the dial set too high will result in a spray
pattern that runs and sags (too much material).
Tip: Spraying with the dial set too low will result in a spray
pattern that does not cover (not enough material).

TitleProper Spraying Technique
STOP The project or area you are spraying
must be properly masked in order to
prevent overspray from landing on any
areas it is not wanted.
Practice on a piece of scrap wood or cardboard
before beginning on your intended workpiece and/
or test with water.
Spray Area Preparation
The spray area must be clean and free of dust in
order to avoid blowing dust onto your freshly
sprayed surface.
How to Spray Properly
STOP
It is important to keep your arm moving
whenever the gun is being triggered. If
you pause or linger in one spot too long,
too much material will be sprayed to the
surface.
• Ifusinga2.5mmneedle:
Position the spray gun perpendicular to and six
(6) inches from the spray surface.
• Ifusinga1.5mmneedle:
Use the same technique as above, but decrease
the spraying distance to 3-6 inches.
• Spray parallel to the surface with smooth passes
at a consistent speed as illustrated below.
Correct
Even coat throughout
Keep stroke smooth and at an even speed
• For ne nish, apply a thin coat of material on
the rst pass and allow to dry before applying a
second coat.
• Overlap each spray pass by at least 50% This
will ensure full coverage.
• When spraying, start moving the gun then pull
the trigger. Release the trigger before stopping
at the end of the pass.
Incorrect
Do not ex wrist while spraying.
Light coat Heavy coat Light coat
Note: When you quit spraying for any length of
time, turn the turbine OFF.
When you restart, wipe the nozzle with a damp
cloth to remove any dried paint.
