WARNING
This air unit is not a medical device. Do not stop or alter any medical therapy
programs or medications without the advice of your physician. Excessive ozone
concentrations may cause mucous membrane or respiratory irritation. A rule of
thumb is to turn the level of ozone (purify) down or off if the O3 smell is detected.

ATTENTION
Caution: This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision concerning use of the unit
by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the unit.
This “exclamation point” calls attention to a feature for which you should read the
enclosed literature carefully to prevent operating and maintenance problems.
This “bolt of lightning” indicates that insulated material within your unit may cause
an electrical shock. For the safety of everyone, do not remove product covering.
Should I run my purifier 24 /7?
Yes for best results, you should leave your purifier running. The fan draws the air
through the unit to be filtered and cleaned. We recommend running the Sterilizer, which
turns on the UV and activates the PCO Filter, and also the Anion, which removes particles
including dust out of the air.
How does it compare to air filters?
Rocky Mountain Air Purifiers and Sterilizers combine the best and most modern
technologies available today to cleanse the air of 99.7% of all airborne pollutants. It
is a comprehensive filtration and purification system. Rocky Mountain Air®Purifiers
are the best of both worlds.
Is ozone safe?
A. Yes, but moderation is the key. Using the timer allows you run the PURIFY feature
while you are away and set the time to turn off prior to your return. We recommend
you set the O3purify level based on the area to be treated. Ozone in very high
concentrations can be irritating to mucous membranes and the respiratory system.
Before using the Air Purifier, you should read the enclosed instructions carefully.
Where should I place the Rocky Mountain Air®Purifier?
The Rocky Mountain Air Purifier should be placed in a room that is centrally Located
in your home. The Rocky Mountain Air Purifier is easy to move so you might want to
try it in a couple of locations to help decide what works best for your environment.
An elevated location is better to distribute ions and activated oxygen more evenly.
Rocky Mountain Air Purifiers may also be placed within 10 feet of a cold air return.
How long will the Rocky Mountain Air®Purifier last?
The Rocky Mountain Air Purifier is made of stainless steel and solid wood
construction. Because of the quality material and superior craftsmanship that goes
into each Rocky Mountain Air Purifier, you will enjoy it for many years.
Does it come ready to use?
Just install the O3plate (located in separate box packaged inside the carton) and it ready to use.
The unit will perform better when placed in an elevated central location. Many of our customers
prefer to have more than one unit to address specific areas in their home. To install plate, refer
to page 8 MAINTENANCE..
FAQ
NEVER OPERATE YOUR PURIFIER WITH A BROKEN PLATE. Doing so will
cause damage to the unit. This damage is not covered under warranty.
How The Rocky Mountain Air Works
The 7-Stages of your Rocky Mountain Air® Purifier Removes,
Destroys & Eliminates Particulates, Pollutants and Odors with the...
1. DIRT, DUST & DEBRIS PRE-FILTER:
This initial stage traps large particles such as dirt, dust and debris.
Washable. Replace annually.
2. HOSPITAL-GRADE TRUE HEPA FILTER:
With a filtration rate of 99.7%, it captures microorganisms, bacteria, mold and viruses
below 0.03 microns. Washable by immersing in water only. Replace annually.
3. CARBON FILTER:
Absorbs odors and filters the air.
May be wiped or vacuumed with brush attachment. Replace annually.
4. PHOTO-CATALYTIC FILTER (PCO):
The Photo-Catalytic Filter oxidizes toxic fumes and breaks dust substances into odorless
carbon dioxide and water. Activated by the UV lamps , the PCO removes airborne
bacteria, deactivates viruses, and eliminates VOC’s. May be wiped or vacuumed with
brush attachment. Replace annually.
5. DUAL GERMICIDAL ULTRAVIOLET (UV) LAMPS:
UV mimics the sun’s sterilization properties. Artificial UV energy has proven to be 1,600
times more effective than the sterilization effect of the sun in killing viruses and
bacteria, mold spores, mildew bacteria and other airborne antigens and pathogens.
Run 24/7.
6. PURIFY - ACTIVATED OXYGEN (O3):
Purify oxidizes airborne particulates such as perfumes, cooking odors and cigarette
smoke. Converts these pollutants to O2 (pure oxygen). Never operate your purifier with
a broken plate. Plate is washable with 50/50 solution of ammonia & water.
7. ANION - NEGATIVE IONS:
Produces negatively charged electrical particles that attach themselves to particulates in
the air (positive ions), rendering them heavy enough to fall to the ground and out of the
air you breathe. Run 24/7.
This unit employs a ground type (3 prong) plug which will only fit into a grounding type
power outlet. Do not use an adapter. Do not attempt to bypass this feature by altering the
plug in any fashion.
Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
Do not use with damaged cord or plug
Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. Grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not operate this unit in areas where flammable or combustible products or vapors may be
present.
Always turn “off” and unplug the unit prior to performing maintenance.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
To clean the filters. Shut down the unit and unplug from the power source. Remove the rear screws
on the back of the unit. Rinse the rear filter and the HEPA filter in warm water as needed. Do not use
detergent or chemicals in your water solution. Simply dust the PCO filter and the aluminum PCO filter -
do not wash or scrub. When replacing filters you must make sure the safety switch is pushed in
towards the front of the unit. (See Section 7 of Operations/Settings and Controls)
To clean a plate, first turn the unit Off and unplug from outlet. Then remove the 4”x4”plates from
back of unit. Pull plates firmly in the center to remove from the slot. With plate firmly supported in
the hand, apply a solution of warm water and ammonia (50/50 solution is suggested) or a strong
grease cutting detergent. Scrub with a stiff brush if necessary. Be careful not to drop the plate or scrub
off the silicon. Clean both the metal screen and the ceramic tile. Rinse plate in hot water and dry
completely before installing. If available, you may use a hair dryer to dry the plate. Reinstall plate,
making sure it is secured and flush with the back of the unit. Plug unit into a grounded electrical
outlet, turn unit on and start enjoying clean fresh air.
To clean needlepoint ionizer, first turn off and unplug from outlet. Remove the fan grill cover.
The needlepoint ionizer will be easy to find in front of the fan by looking for two pieces of wire. Take a
Q-tip or cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean any dust that may have accumulated on the
needlepoints. This process may be done when plates are being cleaned. While you have the front grill
cover off the unit, you may also clean the fan and grill itself. To clean the fan, simply wipe the blades
with a damp cloth or vacuum. The grill cover may also be cleaned with warm soapy water. Be careful
that the fan grill cover is completely dry before installing.
TROUBLESHOOTING
