Components
HOGAR FOGOMAR®is a model of open fireplace that is carefully designed to
provide a greater level of performance and safety. It is made with heat-resistant
walls and a steel hood with an adjustable draught by means of a handle.

Assembly
•The permises in which the firplace is installed should have sufficient ventila-
tion to favour the creation of a draught and allow for regeneration of air
supply.
•The fireplace decorative elements can be assembled together with plaster
(not adding esparto), but never HOGAR FOGOMAR®with the decorative fit-
tings. Neither can the air chamber between the two be filled up, as it is nece-
sessary to allow the free expansion of the fireplace.
•The building work, decorative fittings or wood should not be pressed directly
against the fireplace. The chimney hood should be installed preferably using
partition fitted with plaster. A grille can be installed in this hood to allow ven-
tilation to the air chamber and avoid cracks occurring.
•The debris or mortar remains should be removed as it could obstruct the fun-
tioning of the draught adjustment handle.
PLEASE NOTE: The proper functioning of the FOGOMAR®Fireplace will
depend on its correct installation and use. To achieve this it is essential to
follow the assembly instructions set out below.

Pipes
•A metal tube of a specified diameter must be used
to evacuate the smoke through the whole lenght of
the chimney pipe.
•The pipe should have a minimum height of 4 m,
protruding by least 50 cm above the highest part of
the roof. It should be placed at a distance of more
than 8 m from any adjacent building.
•Be sure to avoid altering the diameter of the tube,
do not use elbows with an angle greater than 45º
and avoid connecting various pieces of equipment
to the same pipe as it could cause back puffing of
smoke.
•The tubes should be joined with a narrow tip poin-
ting upwards. In the section that runs through the
hood, between the HOGAR FOGOMAR®fireplace
and the iron tube, the sealing off must be faultless.
This can be achieved using fireproof putty.

PLEASE NOTE: The first section until passing the first
iron tube should be done with vitrified or rustproof
tubes. Under no circumstances should the installation
be done with tubes of uralite, PVC, aluminium, etc.

Lighting and control
Maintenance
•For the periodic removal of soot from your chimney we recommend that you
seek professional advice.
•We do not recommend the use of anti-soot chemical products.
•Before lighting the HOGAR FOGOMAR®, ensure that the damper blade is
open.
•You are advised to use dry firewood, with low resin content (for example
olive or evergreen oak). Rolls of wafer board or wood with paint remains
should not be used. Under no circumstances should liquid fuel or coal bri-
quettes be used to light the fire.
Should you require any information related to the assembly, use or maintenance
of your fireplace and chimney that is not included in this manual, contact the nea-


PLEASE NOTE: It is important to carry out the FIRST LIGHTING with LITTLE
FIRE, and then gradually increase the load in subsequent lightings.
