1.General instructions
1.1 General information
Maintenance
Provide for periodic inspections and maintenance to avoid and limit repair costs.
Disconnect the voltage before any intervention.
Modifications
Any type of modification to the unit will void the manufacturer's warranty and liability.
Fault or malfunction
Immediately turn the component off in case of failure or malfunction.
Contact an authorized service center or the local dealer.
Using the sensor when there is a failure or malfunction:

1.2 Content of the manual
The user and installation manual describes the installation and connection procedures for the CSC 8IO
board with digital inputs and outputs, 1-wire temperature sensor inputs and analog outputs. It uses
Modbus RTU (RS485) as a communication protocol. DIN rail mounting.
1.3 Warranty
The unit is warranted in accordance with contractual agreements made at sale. The warranty certificate
is supplied with the unit in paper format and is available at www.rossatogroup.com.

The materials used and the equipment parts, as well as the manufacturing, quality assurance and
control procedures meet the highest demands for safety and reliability.
Using them for the purposes specified in this owner's manual, operating them with due care and
performing thorough maintenance and overhaul in a workmanlike manner will help maintain the units'
continued performance and service life.
2. Installation
2.1 Mounting
The controller should be installed and stored in a dry location on a DIN rail. Do not install in humid,
corrosive, or dusty environments.
2.2 Power connection
The 8IO relay board is supplied with 24Vdc or 24Vac.
2.3 Bus connection
The device is equipped with an RS485 serial interface with Modbus RTU communication protocol.
Use a shielded single pair twisted pair cable that complies with EIA RS 485 standards. Belden 9841
cable is recommended.
Modbus connections must be input-output type. Avoid star connections.
Pay attention to correctly connect poles "A" and "B" of the communication cable, without ever inverting
the wiring of pole "A" and "B", make the connections as shown in the following figure:

DANGER:
Initial start-up must be performed only by the dealer or by qualified personnel authorized
by the manufacturer.
CAUTION:
All operators must comply with international accident prevention regulations and those of the
country of destination of the unit in order to avoid possible accidents.
DANGER:
Before connecting the device to the mains, make sure that you have complied with all the
wiring recommendations in this technical annex, as well as with the rules of good electrical
panel assembly technique.

CAUTION:
Connect a 150 Ohm resistor between A and B of the last modbus device connected in the bus.
DANGER:
●Specify Modbus cable RS485: Belden 9841.
●Specify power cable: bipolar cable with minimum cross-section of 0.35 mmq - maximum
0.50 mmq.
