Air Combo PRO 100 - Manual of installation, use and maintenance
1. General instructions
1.1 General information
This unit is designed for production of sanitary water in households and at premises where daily consumption of
hot water (40°C) does not exceed 150 l to 250 l. The device must be connected to water supply mains and to
the power supply grid. The air intake and air exhaust may also be provided by designing the inlet and outlet
drain from and to the adjacent room.
In case of installing the unit in a room with a bathtub or shower tub, take into account the requirements defined
in the IEC 60364-7-701 standard (VDE 0100, Teil 701). To mount the unit on the wall, use special wall bolts with
a nominal diameter of minimum 8 mm and always mount the unit in an upright position.
Make sure the mounting location on the wall is adequately reinforced if the wall is not strong enough. We
recommend leaving enough space between the floor and unit as to provide easy access to the Mg anode (for
maintenance or replacement purposes – Fig. 4). If not, the unit will need to be dismounted from the wall before
any maintenance operation.
For a proper and safe operation it is recommended to respect following settings:
❏Room temperature between 8°C and 35°C;
❏Maximum relative humidity: < 90% not condensing;
❏Water hardness below 25 french degrees; otherwise water treatment systems are needed, according to
the law in force.
The heat pump may not be used for purposes other than those defined in this manual. The unit is not designed
for industrial use or use in rooms where corrosive or explosive substances are present.
ROSSATO GROUP declines any responsibility in case of different uses than the ones the unit is planned and
made for and in case of possible installation mistakes and improper uses of the unit.
The present manual is integral part of supply and must be stored close to the unit and made it available for the
technician who cares about maintenance.
Installation and use instructions are also available on the website www.rossatogroup.com
1.2 Safety warnings
❏The device may be used by adults only;
❏Do not open or dismantle when the device is operating;
❏Always disconnect the heat pump before any cleaning or maintenance;
❏For transport, the heat pump must be placed in the upright position and can be leant up to 35° in all
directions upon exception. Please make sure, no damage of the casing and other vital parts of the
device occurs during transport;
❏The connection of the heat pump to the power supply must be performed in accordance with the
standards for electrical installations. A disconnection device from the electrical network must be
installed between the heat pump and the electrical network in accordance with the national installation
regulations;
❏The heat pump cannot work without water in the boiler; this can damage the compressor;
❏The installation must be done according to the norms in force and the instructions of the manufacture. It
must be done by a qualified technician;
❏Water may drip from the outlet opening of the safety valve, so the outlet opening should be set to
atmospheric pressure.
❏To ensure proper functioning of the safety valve, the user should perform regular controls to remove
limescale and make sure the safety valve is not blocked.
❏Water can be drained from the pump through the boiler inlet pipe. For this purpose it is advisable to
install a special element or outlet valve between the inlet pipe and safety valve.
❏It is necessary to install a safety valve with a rated pressure of 0.6 MPa (6 bar) to the inlet pipe of the
heat pump, to prevent the pressure in the boiler from rising for more than 0.1 MPa (1 bar).
❏Do not install a stop valve between the heat pump and the safety valve, because it will impair the
functioning of the safety valve!
