4. BEFORE USING FOR THE
FIRST TIME
Before us ng your espresso mach ne for the
f rst t me, clean all the accessor es n soapy
water and dry them.
R nse them as follows:
Open the l d (a) and remove the water tank
us ng the handle (f g. 1).
F ll the tank (b) w th cold water and place t
f rmly on the mach ne, mak ng sure t s f rmly
n place, and close the l d (f g. 2 et 3).
nsert and turn the f lter holder to the r ght
(f g 7).
Place a conta ner of suff c ent volume under
the f lter holder.
Turn the appl ance on (f g. 4).
The "On/Off" l ght stops (g) stops flash ng and
turns on.
W thout wa t ng, turn the Coffee funct on
selector (h) to the pos t on (h2) and let all
the water n the tank dra n out (F g. 5). Dur ng
th s f rst use, the system must f ll up and the
water does not flow mmed ately.
If necessary, to empty the water from the
conta ner, you can nterrupt the flow by turn ng
the coffee funct on selector sw tch (h) to the
pos t on (h1).
5. MAKING AN ESPRESSO
WITH ESPRESSO GROUND COFFEE:
- F ll the tank w th cold water and place t f rmly
on the mach ne, mak ng sure t s f rmly n
place, (f g. 1, 2 and 3).
- Place the f lter (c.1) for 1 cup or the f lter (c.2)
for 2 cups n the f lter holder (j) (f g. 6).
- us ng the measur ng spoon (d), f ll the f lter
w th ground coffee.
(1 dose = 1 cup, 2 doses = 2 cups) n the f lter.

- Remove the coffee wh ch rema ns around the
f lter.
- Insert and turn the f lter holder to the r ght
(f g 7).
- Place one or two espresso cups under the
f lter holder.
As soon as the dev ce reaches the requ red
temperature, the coffee l ght (h3) stops
flash ng.
- Turn the coffee funct on selector sw tch (h) to
the pos t on (h2).
- When the cups are f lled to your l k ng, turn
the sw tch to the logo pos t on (h1).
- Remove the f lter holder by turn ng t to the
left .
- To eject the spent coffee, turn the f lter holder
over, hold ng the f lter by the tab so that the
spent coffee does not fall out (f g 11).
For the best results, we recommend that you
preheat the accessor es (f lter holder, f lter and
cups) follow ng the steps above w thout us ng
ground coffee.
WITH SOFT PODS:
Bes des coffee, th s mach ne can also work
w th espresso ground coffee pods.
There are two types of espresso pods
commerc ally ava lable:
- Soft pods (71mm) for f lter (C1).
- Place the espresso pod n the f lter (c1).
Be sure to place all the paper ns de the f lter
holder, to avo d leaks and get a good result n
the cup.
- Insert and turn the f lter holder to the r ght
(f g.7).
- Then follow the procedure for prepar ng an
espresso w th espresso ground coffee.
6. STEAM FUNCTION AND
MAKING A CAPPUCCINO
You can use the steam nozzle to froth m lk.
Foamy m lk s obta ned by plac ng a conta ner
of very fresh, cold m lk under the steam nozzle.
It can then be added to an espresso to make a
cappucc no.
To avo d the format on of excess ve pressure
ns de the f lter, you should remove the f lter
holder before us ng steam.
SYSTEMATIC PURGE OF THE STEAM
CIRCUIT:
Each time before you make frothy milk, you
must purge the steam circuit:
- Place an empty conta ner under the steam
nozzle (k).
- Turn the Steam funct on selector sw tch ( ) to
the pos t on ( 2) (f g. 12). The Steam l ght
( 4) comes on.
- Turn the Steam funct on selector sw tch ( ) to
the pos t on ( 3) (f g. 13) n order to purge
the c rcu t.
- When all the water ns de the c rcu t has been
em tted, turn the Steam funct on selector
sw tch ( ) back to the to the pos t on ( 2).
