Expansion Box
Stock No. 215-381
The 100-pin connector in the RS Notebook PC's (RS stock no. 215-369 and 215-375) is an
AT expansion bus for connection to this expansion box.
The expansion box can carry up to 5 add-on cards with one 8-bit connector and upto four
16-bit connectors for expansion purposes. Two of the 16-bit connectors can carry full-size
interface cards. Power connections to the expansion box are indicated in Figure 2.
Front Side
The power rocker switch is located at the left side. When power is on, the LED indicator will
light on. At the front of the box, a 100-pin port is available for connection to the expansion bus
through a 100-pin flexible cable. The connection is shown as in Figure 1.
Rear Side
There are ventilation holes at the rear of the box. Users are advised not to cover these holes
or place the unit in a location that tends to obstruct these holes. There is an AC-inlet for
connection to the mains supply and an auxiliary AC-outlet.

Connection of Interface Cards
Please follow the simple instruction below to install interface card(s):
1. Power off expansion box.
2. Unscrew the seven screws that fix the front cover.
3. Remove the front cover.
4. Insert the add-on interface card(s) to proper slot(s).
5. Fix the interface card(s).
6. Fix the bracket to the card stand by screw.
7. Replace front cover and the screws.
