1. Introduction of RemoteWOL
1.1. What is RemoteWOL?
Rsupport RemoteWOL (Model: WV0101) helps to turn on a PC remotely suing a PC. Wake
up PC in Hibernation or in Sleep Mode and use it in remotely also before you arrive at
home or office you can turn on your PC which will increase your business productivity.
Through WOL companies can remotely manage PC power from different areas or different
branch offices ranging from PC power also able to control the energy-savings and cost-
effectiveness at the same time can be obtained.
1.2. RemoteWOL Power Management
The conventional approach is by installing agent on the remote PC to manage the Power
ON/OFF. But RemoteWOL equipment doesn’t need agent installed on remote PC to manage
remote PC’s power when there are connected on the same network because it can manage
the remote PC power through the RemoteView server.
RemoteWOL equipment has the advantage of managing multiple registered Remote PCs.

2. RemoteWOL Components
2.1. Check the product components
2.2. Name of parts
①SYS: LED indicating the state of the power.
②WAN (front): LED indicating the modem and internet connection (FTTH) status.
③LAN (front): LED indicating status of PC and wired connection to LAN port.
④Reset: Button that can activate reset function. Hold for about 10 seconds to initialize.
⑤WAN (Back): Port to connect the Router and LAN cable.
⑥LAN (Back): PC and wired connection to the LAN port.
⑦DC9V: Power Connection Cable port.

3. Configure RemoteWOL Connection.
①Connect LAN cable to the Router and WOL equipment.
②Connect LAN cable to the Router and PC
③Connect WOL equipment and PC to the internet through the Router.

4. RemoteWOL Equipment Management
In the RemoteView administrator page, WOL equipment and all WOL PC on the network can
be managed if they are registered.

5. RemoteWOL Setup Prerequisites
5.1. Initializing RemoteWOL
①Press and hold the reset button on the RemoteWOL appliance for 10 seconds. The reset
button can be found on the back-side of the device.
The System LEDs will turn on and blink with the WAN LED turning on and blinking
afterwards.
5.2. RemoteWOL Checklist
①Check if the PC is compatible.
Please check to see that your motherboard and network adapter supports Wake-on-
LAN (WOL).
If you are unsure if your motherboard and network adapter supports Wake-on-LAN
(WOL) technology, contact the product manufacturer(s) to receive additional information.
②Check for firewalls.
If network packets are being blocked by a firewall or by any other hardware,
RemoteWOL may not function properly.
③Check to see that the computer you wish to turn on is on the same network
as the RemoteWOL appliance.
The RemoteWOL appliance must be on the same network as the PC you wish to turn
on.
Additional equipment must be installed to turn on a PC on a different network.
④Check to see that the LAN cable is properly plugged in.
Please check to see that the LAN cable is securely plugged into the PC. If the LAN cable
is loose, or is unplugged, RemoteWOL may not function properly.

6. RemoteWOL Installation
6.1. DHCP Network Environment (Obtain IP Address Automatically)
The RemoteWOL appliance and PC must be on the same network.
DHCP Network must be supported.
①Connect the RemoteWOL appliance to the power adapter.
②Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the router via LAN cable.
③Open a web browser and go to http://wol.rview.com/mac to see where to find the
RemoteWOL appliance MAC address.
④Locate the MAC address on the back of the RemoteWOL appliance, input it into the box
labeled “MAC Address”, then hit “Search”.

⑤Once the RemoteWOL appliance has been detected, connect to the device by clicking
“Connect”.
⑥This will bring you to the RemoteWOL Setup page.

⑦Enter network settings and register an administrative account.
Set the network to: “Obtain an IP Automatically using DHCP”.
⑧Once the network settings have been properly configured, click “Next” to continue.
⑨Verify that the network settings are correct then click “Yes” to confirm the configuration.

⑩Once the network settings have been saved, the RemoteWOL appliance will restart and
the installation process will be complete.

6.2. Static IP Environment (Use the following IP address)
Directly connect the computer to the RemoteWOL appliance.
①Connect the RemoteWOL appliance to the power adapter.
②Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the computer via LAN cable.
③Open a web browser and type the following IP address into the URL bar: 10.10.10.1
If an error occurs during this process, navigate to http://wol.rview.com to resolve it.
④This will bring you to the RemoteWOL Setup page where you can configure network
settings and register an administrative account.
Under Network Settings, set to “Use the following IP address” and input the appropriate
IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and default DNS information.
⑤Verify that the network settings are correct then click “Yes” to confirm the configuration.

⑥Once the network settings have been saved, the RemoteWOL appliance will reconnect.
⑦Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the router via LAN cable.
⑧Once the network settings have been saved, the RemoteWOL appliance will restart and
the installation process will be complete..

7. Using RemoteWOL
7.1. Log-in/Log-out
①When RemoteWOL initial setting is all finish WOL equipment will reboot and it will
connect automatically to the set IP address. The User can Log in to the account.
②To Log out, click “Log out”button at the Top-Right Corner.

7.3. Setting RemoteView
7.3.1. RemoteView agent Register/ unregister
①Click “Register Agent”button.
②Enter RemoteView user information. Select which version of RemoteView you are
currently using (RemoteView Enterprise or RemoteView server).

③To gain access to RemoteView agent, you have to set up the ID and PW of the agent.
④Connection log for registered RemoteView Agent information and session server. Agent
can be disconnected.
