1. Grounding - This equipment must be grounded. Make sure that the plug is con-
nected to a 3-pole grounded outlet.
2. Power Hook-up - This equipment is designed to be operated from a source of single
phase power. When an extension cord is needed, the extension cord must be of the same
or larger guage as the supplied power cable to prevent loss of power or overheating of
the cable.
3. Continuous Usage - The Twin-Vac in not to be used for a long continuous period
because of the design of brush motors. A pair of carbon brushes of the motor must be
replaced after operating for 5000 to 7000 hours.
4. Static Shock - Static shock is common in areas with low relative humidity and is
not indicative of improper functioning of the Twin-Vac. This problem can be reduced by
adding moisture to the air with a conventional humidifier.
5. Dry Pick-up - Do not vacuum explosive or combustible materials. Do not pick up
burning cigarettes or other smoking materials, ashes, matches, or similar materials.
6. Wet Pick-up - The Twin-Vac is not designed for wet pick-ups, however, damp materials
can be vacuumed without damaging the cloth tube filters. Do not vacuum liquids.
7. Never operate the unit in the presence of flammable vapors or dust or as a sprayer of
liquids such as paints or oils.
8. Never operate the unit without the filters in place.
Safety Precautions
Operating Instructions
1. Attachments - Attach hose to the unit and metal fittings to the hose for the task at
hand.Various shoe inserts are available to convert the nozzel for various purposes. These
shoe inserts may be changed by sliding the insert to the shoe as shown in the figure. Un-
screw the two red knurled knobs on the master nozzel and retighten these screws after
replacement of the shoe.

Maintenance
1. Changing Filters - Filters are designed to provide long service life. However, depend-
ing upon usage and the type of materials vacuumed, they may need replacement every one
to three years. Replace tube filter elements as follows:
3. Power On - This unit is not designed for continuous operation. When first powered
on, please check for powerful suction from the unit.
4. Emptying of Dust Bucket - To empty the dust bucket, turn the cart handle upward
to the right, raising the head slightly. Then gently slide the bucket off of the cart for emp-
tying. Reverse these steps to install the emptied bucket. Please be sure that the bucket
is properly positioned under the head of the pre-tank before turning the lever to secure
it. Without proper positioning of the head you will have vacuum leakage and improper
operation of the unit.
5. Shaker Operation - This Vacuum is equiped with a shaker mechanism to help
prevent the filters from becoming clogged. Before and after each use, the shaker knob
should be moved up and down vigorously ten times. This will ensure that your Twin-Vac
will deliver its full performance for many years of trouble-free use.
2. Grounding and Power Hook-up - The plug must be connected to a properly grounded
outlet. Improper connection of the equipment can result in a risk of an electrical shock.
Please observe the following figure for hookup to either a standard grounded outlet or for
use of the grounding tab on a standard adapter.

a. Unscrew the black knob on the top of the shaker bar.
b. Remove the dust bucket as previously instructed.
c. Unscrew 3 nuts of RE-115AL or 4 nuts of RE-217AL from the filter plate
(located inside from where the bucket was removed.)
d. Slide down the entire filter plate, filter assembly and shaking bar as one
piece together. If necessary, remove the filter case gasket.
e. Remove the clips and fasteners from the shaker bar and set the bar aside.
f. Remove the filter tubes and replace with new ones.
g. Reassemble and reinstall by reversing these steps.
2. Lubrication - No lubrication is necessary. However, certain parts of the vacuum
fan motor assembly are subject to wear and should be replaced as necessary, depending
upon operating conditions.
3. Carbon Brushes - After operating for approximately 5000 hours, a pair of carbon
brushes in the motor must be replaced. Please contact the factory for the carbon brush
kit and installation instructions.
