Thismanualintroducestheprocessofsystematicprogramand operationofSAE-M8000matrix
switchingsystem. Itisa CCTVsecuritysystem withseveral video inputs, videooutputs and matrixes.
Themainmatrixhasthesectionsofpower module, controlmodule,datareceive/memorymodule,
VIM (video input module),VOM(video outputmodule)and corresponding backpanel.SAE-M8000
offersmenuandmultimediasetup forsystemsetting.Throughkeyboard,it canachievebasic
information, camera title, variouspresetting, monitorfunction, userslimited, oneor severalmoni-
torsequences, fortify setup andalarmmode, etc.
Wearemakingcontinuouseffort to improveour products.Wewill upgrade the
productsconstantly.Thisisour authorityandobligation.

high capability. Italso explainsthefeatures, functions, specifications, configuration, powerandfunctions of
eachmodule, etc.

2.3SystemProgram
All thesettingandadministrationonSAE-M8000arerealizedbysystemprogramwhichcanbeset
throughthematrix systemmenu, Ethernetportoradministration&maintaincomputerapplications.
Systemdefault setting is formost common applications,youmaychangeit according to your need.
2.4Administrators
Tosetup administrator is for securitypurpose. Onlytheadministrators can compilethesystemprogram.
2.5Operators
Tooperatethissystem,registered operators needto input hisnameandpassword in thesystemcontroller.
User’s nameand passwordaresetbysystemprogramorkeyboard. Ifthenameand passwordinputted
by operator do not accordwiththeregistereddata,systemwill denyhis entry. Operator can input his
nameand passwordon any controller of thesystemtoenter thematrix system.
2.6VideoSwitch
Themainmatrixcanswitchpicturesof any camera orpresetsofcertaincamera toany designated
monitor todisplay. The coreof thesystemis afull cross-pointmatrix switch.
2.7Sync Switch
Power syncswitch. Syncphase(multipleof 60degree)is adjustable.
2.8AutoSequentialScan
Autosequential scancandisplaythevideos onany monitor fromthefirstcameratothelastcamera
assignedbyuser.Videoswitchspeedis independentandalterable.
2.9Salvo Switch
Thesystemcanswitchmultiplevideos todifferentmonitors fordisplaying simultaneously. Thesystem
has up to10groups ofsalvo switches andeachgrouphasupto 64steps. Thedwell timeofvideois
programmableand thevideocanbeany preset ofcameras.
2.10SequentialSwitch
Itisagroupof switchesof any camera. Thesystemcanprogramand store88 groupsof sequence
switches. Eachgroup canincludevideosof multiple camerasand the dwell timeof eachvideois
programmable. Thevideocanbeanypresetofany camera.Inagroupofsequenceswitch, avideoor
several presets of acameracan berepeatedas different steps. The samegroup of sequence switch canbe
displayedon different monitors donotinterferewitheachother. Distributeasfollows:

Eachalarminput box(AI64) canconnect64 detectors.Thesystemcanconnect16 alarminput boxes,
totally1024 detectors. Thedetector’s probemodecanbeNO orNC.
2.14AlarmOutput
Each alarmoutputbox (AO16) has16 innerrelayoutputs.Two modes areavailable: NO and NC.The
systemcanconnect4 alarmoutputboxes,totally64 relayoutputs.
2.15 FortifySetup
Therearemanualand autofortifies which canbeset through systemmenu.Whenauto modeis selected,
thesystemactivates according tothefortify table, and thesystemcan process partial manual commands
sentthroughthekeyboard. Whenmanualmodeis selected,thesystemwillonlyprocess manual com-
mands and theautofortify tableis notavailablenow. Besides, autofortify formadministrates according
tothefortify areainacycleof seven days.
2.16 Auto Alarm Switch
Whensystemreceivesalarmsignal,itwillswitchtothevideoofalarmevent, andactivatespreset,
auxiliary switch,videorecorderand alarm soundanddisplay thealarm statusinformationon themonitor.
Thevideo, dwelltime, presetandopen/closetimeofauxiliaryswitchofanalarmevent canbesetby
systemadministration software.
2.17AlarmHandingMode
The alarmdisplaymodes includesequence displaymodeand auto-build mode.Thereare7alarmmodes.
2.17.1AlarmSequenceDisplay
TheassignedNmonitorswill displaythealarmvideos. Whenseveral alarmsignals appears
simultaneously, theN monitors of this group will displaytheprevious not N alarmvideos towhich
arenot respondent. Besides, N could be1, 2, 3, 4,totally4 modes. When analarm is respondent to,
monitorwill displaytheN+1 alarmvideoto whichis notrespondent.Analogizesequentially.On
themanual mode,thissystemcankeepalarmstate. Eventhealarmsignal is disconnected, ifthe
userdoes notrespond tothealarm, thealarmstatus will exist.
2.17.2Auto-build Mode
ThedesignatedN monitorswill displaythealarmvideos. Ncouldbe1, 2, 3, 4, totally4modes.
Whenseveralalarmsignals existsimultaneously,all of thesignal will makesequentialscandis-
playonthefirst monitoraccordingtothetimepriority.Besides,theN-1 signal willdisplayon
another monitor.Whenanalarmvideoisrespondentto, thealarmgroup willanewand thenext
alarmvideowilldisplayon that monitor. Untilallthealarmvideosarerespondent to, thesystem
will renew normal. Onthemanualmode,thesystemcanalsostorealarmstatus.Eventhealarm
signal is disconnected,if theuser does not respond to thealarm, thealarmstatuswill exist.
2.18 Alarm ACK
Therearetwo modesof alarmACK: manual ACKandautoACK.Themodescan causethesystemto
exit thealarmevent statusandreturnto theworking statusbeforethealarmevent. Thesystemmaster
canauthorizeany keyboard(user) theright to clear analarm.Theunauthorizedkeyboarddoes not have

theright.After ACK analarm, theuserwill not hear thealarmsound. If thealarmevent still exists, the
ALM-XXXX inthealarmstatus displaycolumnon themonitor flashes. Besides, XXXX is thedetector
number.
2.18.1Auto ACK
Whenthealarmdetector is alarming overspecifiedtime, thealarmsystemwill clear alarmauto-
maticallyand thealarmvideowill disappearfromthemonitorautomatically. Under this mode, any
instant alarmcanbecaught. Onceanalarmvideowas clearedfrom themonitor, thenext alarm
videowill display on themonitor.UndertheautoACKmode,user canalsoclear thealarmmanually.
2.18.2Manual ACK
Underthemanual ACKmode, thealarmvideos remain onthecorrespondingmonitors until the
user visits themonitorthrough thekeyboard.Theadministrator canset and authorizeany user the
righttoclear alarm. Unauthorizedusercannot clear thealarms.
2.19Priority
Authorizedpassword has8 prioritylevels whichrestrict relateduser toset and controlthesystem.
Besides, thefirst 3 keyboardusersand PC usersareonhigherpriority level 9, 10, 11.Thedefault
administrator’s priorityis thehighest level 12.
2.20ScreenDisplay
Everymonitor connectedwithinthis systemcandisplaycameraID,Chineseand Englishcameratitles
(16 English characters or8 Chinesecharacters.), date/time, monitorID and systemstatus. Displaymode
and position areadjustable.
2.21Power-downProtection
All of theusers’programdataincluding systemdivision, patrol, salvo switch, alarmconfig, port config
andsysteminformationarestoredinmemorywithsparebattery. After cutting offthepower,thepro-
grammeddatacanexist at least 5 years.
2.22 RJ45 Port
UseRJ45 port toconnect withLAN switcher. Communicatewiththematrix systemon Ethernet.

3. User Logs in & Logs out
Toinput user’snameand passwordis asafetyprecaution. It onlyallowstheperson who has userlimit touse
thesystem.Matrix user must haveacorrect nameand passwordto enter thesystem.Thefactory passwordis
indefault status.This systemallows max131 users and their independent passwordincluding 64 KB users,
64 PC usersand3administrators. Thenewlypurchasedmatrixor reset systemisindefault status. The
administrator canenterthesystemaccording tothedefault.
SAE-M8000 matrixsystemhastwo kinds ofuserswhich aretheadministrator and theuser. Besides, users
havedifferentuselimit according todifferent priority.
3.1Administrator Logsin &Logsout
Theregisteredadministrator shouldinput his nameand passwordinthesystemcontroller tooperatethe
system.Theadministrator’nameandpassword areset throughsystemprogramandkeyboard. Ifthe
nameand passwordinputteddo not accordwiththeregistered, systemwill refusehis entry.Administra-
torcaninput his nameand passwordinany controller toenterthesystem.
AdministratorLogs in:After thekeyboardis powered on, administrator should input his nameand
password toenter thesystemundertheinstructionof LCD.
AdministratorLogs out: Press F2 tologs out thesystem.
AdministratorModify User sPassword:Theadministrator canenter thesystemmenu toset pass-
wordsof all theusers inadvance.Afterdetermining thepriorityof eachuser,administrator shouldgive
passwords to eachuser based on his prioritylevel.User must register beforeentering
AdministratorClearUser sPassword:Ifnecessary,systemmastercanclear any user’s nameand
password.
3.2User Logsin&Logs out
UserLogs in: Afterkeyboardpoweredon,user mustinput his nameand password given byadministra-
tortoenter thissystemundertheinstruction of LCD
User Logs out: PressF2 tologsout thesystem.

4. System Menu
4.1Menu Function
Thefunctions of this menu mainlyfocus on thesetup and administration of SAE-M800 matrixsystem,
including systemsetup,camerasetup, monitor setup, users setup, tour setup, salvosetup,fortify setup, alarm
setup and systeminfo, etc.Thosefunctions canbeachievedbysetting directly through setup menu or setting
multimediaapplications. In this chapter, it focuses onthesetting methods and process through systemmenu.
In thissystem, thereareadministrators. Thoseusers havetherightto use, set, modify and storesystemmenu.
Theycanuseall thefunctionsinthemenu.Atthemeanwhile,heexists in thematrix system, hecanoperate
thematrix.Hecan not onlysetandadministratethematrix; alsoheisauser ofSAE-M8000. So, hecan
operateand controlthematrix. However,other userscanonlyoperateandcontrol this system.Under the
condition of administrator’s authorization, users can enter SAE-M8000 matrix system.Administrator autho-
rizesuser bydetermininguser’s level.
SystemSetup: systemdatesetup,baud ratesetup,users management, video modesetup,languagesetup,
Ethernetadaptor and systembasicconfig.
Camera Setup: cameraenable, cameratitle,cameraprotocol and cameraphase.
MonitorSetup: font sizeand position.
UsersSetup: KBuserand PC user. Toset control monitor,cameralimited, tourlimited, salvolimited,
control areaand prioritysetup respectively.
Therearetwo modes toswitchcamerainSae-M8000 matrix system: specifiedand sequence.Thespecified
modemeanstoswitchdefinitecameravideotodisplayon thespecifiedmonitorthrough manual operation;
Sequence modemeanstoswitchseries of programmedcameravideos todisplayon oneor several specified
monitors oneafteranother.Thesequence modehastwo modes: tour switchandsalvo switch. Themain
differencebetween thosetwomodeslies inthenumber of specifiedmonitors. In thetour mode, thereis only
onespecifiedmonitor.Underthesalvo mode,thereareseveral specifiedmonitors. Settingsofspecified
modeincludecamera limit setupandcontrol monitor setup. Settingsofsalvoswitchincludeparticipant
camera,preset position, dwelltimeofeachstep.All ofthoseshouldbeset stepbystep. Settings ofsalvo
switchincludedwell timeofeachstepparticipant monitors,switchingcorresponding cameras onmonitor
and presetposition.All of thoseshouldbesetstepbystep.
FortifySetup: probeconfig,fortify mode, fortify areaand fortify form.
AlarmSetup: alarmmodeand alarmexport.
SystemInfo: systemconfig,hardwareconnection, videoswitch,videoloss, probesetup,probestate, fortify
state, fortify recordand alarmrecord.
Surveillance events achievebysettings including setting timefortifyareaand setting 64 fortify areas.
Alarmdisposal includes whether allowsprobetoactivatealarmor not and responseafter alarm.Thereare3
methods todeal witheventsbeforealarm.
1. Tofortify in TimeEventitem.
2. Tofortify directlyinFortify Areaitem.
3. Select ON or OFF inProbeSetup item.
Pleasenotethatthosethreemethods arerelative.Anyhow must set fortify areato whichtheprobebelongs to
enablethisprobe.Onthecontrast, withdraw thefortifyareatowhich theprobebelongs to disabletheprobe.
Alarmwill leadto videoswitch, AUX andauto ACK-time.Setvideoswitchin ProbeSetup; Set AUX in
AlarmExport; Set autoACK-timeinthemenu directly.
Onlytheadministratorcanadministrateand maintainthematrix system.Limitinclude: toadministratehis
password, to programlevel form, to settleand restoredata,tocopy data, to resumedataand to draw data.To
settleandrestoredatais inordertooptimizeandregainresources of thewasteand guarantee thestabilityand

securityof thedatabasebecauseusethosedatavery often can leadtolossand wasteof databaseresource;To
copy datacanprevent virusdisoperation or dataloss becauseof hardwaretrouble;To resumedatais in order

4.2SAE-M8000 SystemMenu
Systemmenu is set according tothefunctions. Itincludesfollowing 9 itemsand correspondingsubmenus:
SystemSetup, CameraSetup, MonitorSetup, UsersSetup, Tour Setup,SalvoSetup,Fortify Setup, Alarm
Setup and SystemInfo.
Figure2 shows theconfiguration of SystemMenu. Usercanoperateaccording tothis figure. Itiseasy tofind
outtheclassifiedmethod andeverysubmenu. Onlythelast levelmenu is usedtoachievefunctions.
